Friday's Favorites

It's Friday and I couldn't be more excited. We have a lot planned this weekend and I can't wait to get off to start it all.

ONE. We have to pick the girls up by noon today because their daycare is closing to host a giant Easter celebration at the south location. Even though it is during naptime, we want to take the girls there. Our hopes is to get the girls to sleep in the car for an hour while we run some errands. Otherwise this evening could be a cranky one.

But at the event, the girls can hunt for eggs, take photos with the Easter bunny (we haven't done those any year yet. Do I smell a repeat of our adventures with Santa?), get their faces painted, go in bounce houses and so many other activities. I really hope my girls enjoy it.

TWO. Did you catch yesterday's Girl Chat post on Easter Traditions? I talked about my old traditions and the new ones. I also mentioned that my sister-in-law, brother-in-law and nephew are coming into town and it has been about 4 months since we last saw them. I am soooo excited to snuggle my nephew (he is 9 months now!) and watch him and the girls take on our Easter traditions.

THREE. I am always looking for new things to watch on Netflix since I watch a lot of it when I workout at the gym. I have made my way through many series and movies on the treadmill. I was looking for something new and there was an ad up top for a new show called 13 Reasons Why. I clicked on it, read the synopsis and was intrigued. Now the story isn't lighthearted at all, but I am fascinated by it due to my friend's brother committing suicide.

It is an awful act and hurts everyone so profoundly, but the topic still interests me. It helps us understand the reasons why and ways to look for the signs.

But I digress. I am four episodes in and I am hooked. I need to know why and how and want to binge it, but also want to save it for the gym.

Have you watched it? Have you heard of it?

FOUR. I have two posts coming next week going through each car we test drove and thought about. I know a lot of you have shown interest in our car buying process and I wanted to share the pros, cons and thoughts on each car.

Remember that this is just what we thought and what worked for our family.

FIVE. This week I finally went to the dermatologist after almost a year and a half. I am always adamant about going yearly, but the time got away from me and then Emily reminded me to make my appointment. Once I made the appointment, it was over a month wait. But I got checked out and everything looks good. No mole changes and she injected two scars (from mole removals) with a steroid to help flatten them out and make one of them stop hurting. So I call the whole appointment a win.

Also, this is a PSA to make your appointments and get your skin checked.

I am linking up with April, A Little Bit of Everything, Karli, Meet @ the Barre and Cup of Tea.

    1. I can't wait to show you all the photos. They are in the cutest overalls today and then Easter dresses on Sunday.

You need to watch 13 Reasons Why, but be prepared to cry and have your heart tugged at. It is hard to watch some parts and it gets you thinking about how you treat others. Have a great weekend Lizzie!

  7. Have fun at the event today! I read the book 13 Reasons Why and I didn't like it. I didn't think it showed the girl as having a real reason for suicide...not that there should be a real reason...but it just didn't feel real to me. I wonder if the series is different.

  10. I'm about four or five episodes in for 13 Reasons Why. It's based on a book that I read years ago and I LOVE, so I'm excited it's finally a show. I'm loving it!

  11. I haven't watched the show or read the book, but I read another book by the author, "The Future of Us". It's about teens in 1996 who see their Facebook profiles from the future.

  13. I haven't heard of Thirteen Reasons Why before but now I'm kind of interested! We have cable so haven't really spent much time watching any Netflix shows lately. YES to the dermatologist! After having a spot removed back in January (thankfully came back negative), I am ALL for going in for those yearly checks!
