Friday Favorites and One Awful Product

What a week it has been. I am tired from it all, but still feeling all sorts of amazingness regarding my girls first dance recital. Seriously, the cutest thing ever. I plan to post more pictures soon once we get a few of the professional ones back. You may have seen a bunch on my IG.

ONE. Several weeks ago when we were in California, I bought myself a J Crew skirt and I finally wore it to the girls recital. They had asked me daily to wear it, but the weather wasn't good enough on work days. But I finally wore it and I LOVED it. I got tons of compliments on it. I bought this one. And it is currently half off.

TWO. Speaking of skirts, I bought another new one this week. Since I loved the J Crew skirt above, I knew I needed to add a few more to my collection. I found this one at Nordstrom and it should arrive this weekend. Once I get it, I will do a try on session on IG.

THREE. Funnies for the week.
This isn't quite true as my family are Warriors fans, but I still thought it was quite funny when I saw it.

Think of all those times you put soda in your water cup. I know you did.

FOUR. I usually don't post about my dislikes in a Friday Favorite post, but this one needs to be documented and hopefully I can spare someone else my pain. I went to Target before my Graeagle trip and we bought the girls Blue Lizard Sunscreen which is just AMAZING. But then we bought some Pacifica sunscreen. I guess we must have not looked closely at it, but we bought bronzing sunscreen. I saw the SPF 50 and heard good things about Pacifica, but this stuff is AWFUL.

We used this product once while we were gone and then I promptly returned it to Target. Thank you Target for taking this stuff back. We put it on and it smelled liked burnt coconut. Then it had a bronzing color to it which was nice in the sun. I looked shimmery and "tan". But that is where it stops. As I wore it, it stayed on the arm of the chair I was using. It dyed my swim suit and it took three washes to get it off my suit and it dyed my body. I scrubbed my skin raw trying to get this stuff off. This was after sitting in the sun for a couple of hours and swimming. It stained the towels we were using and I had to take two showers to get it off. And the worst part....I got a severe burn on my shoulders and upper back. I lathered that stuff on my shoulders and I burnt so bad and now I am peeling. Don't use this stuff.

May's Amazon Prime Purchases

*This post contains affiliate links. When you click a link, it is no cost to you and I make a small commission (pennies) from it. Thank you for supporting Sparkles and Lattes.

I didn't realize that last week was Amazon Prime purchases link up. I blame it on vacation. But I figured I would still share these this week since I love getting Amazon recommendations. What did we buy last month?

The girls needed new sleeping bags for our trip to Graeagle since we would be using their old ones at the dance recital. Well that and they were getting too big for their Melissa and Doug ones. After researching, we decided on the Teton ones. And after the girls using them for a week, we can say that they are total winners. I would definitely recommend them.

We also needed a new air mattress of some sort and after more research, I found that separate ones were going to be our best bet. These ones had amazing reviews on Amazon, but sadly, we haven't got to use them yet. We were supposed to for Memorial Day camping, but the weather wasn't in our favor. We still kept them and blew them up for a test run and they seem to be good. Now to use them.

I wanted fancier coffee at work, so I bought myself some vanilla syrup and then this frother which was recommended to me. This frother is awesome. I just put two batteries in it and it works every morning for my coffee at work. Now I have a coffee/latte and I am saving money. Well when I buy coffee beans for work. Ha.

MilkBoss Milk Frother

The girls had their dance recital on Monday night and I needed those bun makers that you see everywhere. They are shaped like a donut and allow moms like me (aka not a hair stylist) to make the perfect bun. I bought this pack since it has several sizes in it and I wasn't sure which I needed for my girls. I used the smallest ones for them since they have fine and shorter hair like me. They worked perfectly.

I bought the girls their Shea Moisture spray again because I knew we would need more soon and I didn't want to run out while we were on vacation and their hair gets crazy from the wind, pool and what not.

I have been wanting some new forks for the girls since they had the ones made out of milk jugs and then some from Target, but they only come in packs with a spoon and a knife. I just wanted forks, so I ordered these. They work for the girls and are metal, but I am not sure how long they will use them since they are not as big as I thought they would be.

Friday Favorites and Happenings

I have been having the best time. We have been on our first Graeagle trip of the year and we have had pretty good weather to boot. We really needed this week. We were able to sleep in, relax, enjoy time with family and have little adventures each day. This weekend we are jammed packed with dance recital things, so it was nice to have some rest before it all.

Anyways, onto Friday favorites and happenings.

ONE. I recently came across the shopping site Red Dress and I found quite a few things I wanted on there. I am waiting for a sale to buy more, but I scooped up this tee for the summer.

TWO. After trying out and LOVING the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Brush, I am wanting to try more of her items. These are on my wish list and I am thinking I need to get the concealer since my Tarte Shape Tape is almost out.

I am also wanting to try out the Charlotte Tilbury Pillowtalk Eyeshadow Palette. I love my Tarte palette and I don't think I want to change it up, but having something else to wear every once in awihle would be nice.

And finally, I want to try the Charlotte Tilbury Collagen Lip Bath.

Have you tried any of these products? Do you love them?

THREE. So I have had my Rocksbox for a few weeks now and I have gotten a chance to wear most of my items. But the one that I have been wearing almost daily is my Kendra Scott Kacey Necklace. I don't know what it is about this necklace, but it is the perfect piece. It is gold with silver inside, so you can wear it with anything. And with my $21 styling fee discount, I only paid $49 for it.

If you want to try Rocksbox, you can get a free month here ($21 for free) and continue it past the first month if you would like or cancel. You can sign up with my code (thanks for supporting Sparkles and Lattes) sparklesandlattesxoxo

FOUR. Some Friday funnies.

Father's Day Gift Guide

*This post contains affiliate links. When you click a link, it is no cost to you and I make a small commission (pennies) from it. Thank you for supporting Sparkles and Lattes.

Father's Day is just under two weeks away. I am one who always shops early for these special days. I have a few things being sent my way, but as I was shopping for Rory, I thought I would share some gift ideas. Some of these he has and LOVES and others I am sure he or any dad would love.
Father's Day Gift Guide

Sports Hat/Apparel  If your husband/dad loves sports, getting him his favorite team in a hat, jersey, t-shirt, etc is a sure win.

Herschel Weekend Duffel  I bought Rory this bag a few years ago and he loves it. I also have one that my sister got me a few years ago. It is perfect for short work trips and weekend trips.

Lululemon Polo  This is another favorite of Rory's. He wears these polos to work daily. They are pricey, but they last forever, don't smell (hello armpit sweat) and are comfy.

Tie Travel Case  If your husband or dad travels alot and has to wear suits, this is the perfect gift. Rory asked for one of these many years ago and I had gotten him one. He has since lost it and we got him another one. They hold your cuff links, ties and tie clips.

Stance No Show Socks  Again, another favorite of Rory's is Stance socks and these ones are no show which is perfect for the summer. He has these and they even make them in XL (my husband has size 14 feet).

Adidas Samba Shoes  These shoes remind me of the classic Adidas they everyone used to wear, but even better.

Titleist Pro V1 Golf Balls  If your husband or dad golfs, these were rated #1 golf balls this year. They are meant for a little more experienced golfers, but they get amazing reviews. Rory has been golfing since he was a child and has a love/hate relationship with golf. Ha.

Tahoe Timber Pocket Knife  Two weekends ago, we went to the Made in Tahoe festival and saw these pocket knifes. They also make amazing wooden sunglasses (I sooo want a pair and they float in the water!). Anyways, you can get these engraved and in different colors. It is an amazing gift for a father, husband or FIL.

What are you getting your dad and/or husband for Father's Day this year?
