The Friday Life

Another Friday and weekend is upon us and I have some mixed feelings on this. I will get to that in a second. But first, I am linking up with Karli and Liz today.

One. I haven't been around this week that much. Yes I have posted (scheduled), but yesterday I was able to sit down,r ead my favorite blogs and catch up with my bloggy friends. Why haven't I been around that much this week? My girls have RSV. Yes it is THE WORST. The girls started getting sick on Friday or Saturday. By Sunday, they were pretty bad and Monday was worse. We hoped that our pediatrician was open on Monday, but no such luck. We even considered Urgent Care.

Tuesday morning we called the doctor and the girls were seen Tuesday afternoon. After several tests (ears, throat, listening to the chest, swabs, etc.), it was discovered that they have RSV. It makes me mad that someone brought their child to daycare knowing how sick they were (whether they knew their child had RSV or not) and it spread to others. And on top of it, Avery has an ear infection too. Plus she lost weight since her 12 month check up. Total bummer all around.

Avery is on antibiotics as well as a nebulizer (breathing treatment). Sutton is on the breathing treatment as well. We have to do the treatment every 4 hours until their cough gets better. Once it gets better, we can space out the treatments more and more. The girls don't mind it THAT much, but Avery fights it more than Sutton.

I put Avery's paci in while doing the treatment and she sits more calmly. Just as a piece of advice to other moms who might be in the same situation as we were/are.

Two. My husband leaves to Minneapolis on Sunday. That means 6 days ALONE with my girls. Ok not alone because I have family coming over to hang out some of the day. But it is so crazy to do it all alone for a week. Last time I did this was when Rory went to London when the girls were 5 months old. That trip was brutal for me since the girls relied on us SO much more. But we get to have grandma (the girls grandma) come over and cook us some dinner (yum), the other grandparents visit us and maybe an auntie visit too. Plus Stacey is going to come hang out with us. Definitely feeling the love here.

Three. I am looking for another concealer since my YSL Touche Eclat is so expensive (read $42). A few ladies have talked about their love for this concealer. Does anyone have experience with this one? What do you think? Others you might suggest?
Four. Gilmore Girls. Amy suggested I watch Gilmore Girls and even though I am only 5 episodes in, I am loving it. I never jumped on the show when it was originally on. Just like with Gossip Girl and I LOVED that show. I needed something to watch at the gym and in between my regular shows and this is a great choice. If you haven't seen it (I can't be the only one who hasn't), I would recommend you start it.

Five. Weekly Photo Dump.
Spinach and Bacon Salad from the promotion dinner
Filet, veggies and potatoes au gratin

Sick baby and still looking cute
 Breathing treatment
Sweet Aves still smiles when she is sick

    1. I really hope so. I wouldn't be dreading him being gone if they weren't so sick. I am hoping family can help a bit. I got this. I know I do, but extra help is great with sick babies!!!

I have watched Gossip Girl twice in a row. Love it that much. And I am really loving Gilmore Girls. Thanks for the advice!!

Have a great weekend as well.

  2. Ugh, daycare germs. I've been semi-sick for 6 weeks and my kiddos have had crappy coughs for 2+ weeks. They start to get better and then they get bad again. My ped says they just need to ride it out but it seems like a long time to be sick, right? Everyone says daycare pumps up their immunity so they don't get as sick when they hit school but I'm not so sure.

I've used that Maybelline concealer for almost a year and LOVE it. I used Lorac & Benefit prior to trying it and it's seriously the best. It doesn't crease, is really smooth and blends well. Pick it up at Ulta and you can return it if you hate it. At $9, it's worth a shot!

    1. Yes I hear the same thing about daycare. That it preps them for school later on that they won't get as sick then. But to get RSV is bad. It is a nasty cold and so heartbreaking to see my girls like this.

I have used Lorac before. Well their eye shadows but not concealer. I will give it a shot. I want to pick up the dry brush too at Ulta so I can get both.

  3. Oh poor sweet girls. I'm so sorry they are sick. Hopefully now that they have breathing treatments it'll pass quickly! You've got this girl...the week will fly by and Rory will be back before you know it. Fingers crossed!

    1. Breaks my heart to see them THIS sick. They have had little colds or little coughs, but this time it's nasty. Hoping they get better quickly. Avery seems to be on the mend, but Sutton is having a harder time.

      Have a great weekend.

  6. Oh no! I hope Avery and Sutton feel better soon. :(
I watched Gossip Girl for a while when it was on, but stopped at some point. When it ended, people posted about who it was, and now I'm finally watching the whole thing. I'm in season 6 and I still don't get how GG is who it is... I need to see the finale play out! And I love Gilmore Girls too!
That sandwich looks sooo good! Yum!

    1. Thank you and so do I.

Oh I loved Gossip Girl so much. I have watched it twice through and I couldn't believe who GG was. I had an inclination based on when I thought it was a guy, but I loved how it ended up. The end is a bit rushed, but so good still. I miss it. Haha.

I heard Gilmore Girls is getting a revival on Netflix, so I better watch a bunch this week when Rory is out of town for work.
