Weekending

It's Monday and I didn't have much of a weekend because I left for work travel. But I still enjoyed the bits of the weekend I did have.

Friday, I worked half day since I still had so much to do at home before my trip. After work, we picked up the girls, headed to lunch and then home for some naps. At 2 pm, we ventured out to the pediatrician. Remember, a month or two ago when Avery got a little boil on her butt? Well, now Sutton has one. We want to nip it in the butt (pun intended) before it got worse or Rory had to take her into the pediatrician alone.

They did and said pretty much the same thing as they did with Avery. But since it wasn't Avery, we couldn't just call and get a prescription.

After the pediatrician's appointment, we headed home, so my in-laws could watch the girls for a bit. Rory and I headed to the cabinet showroom to pick out cabinets, veneers and options.

We are on a time crunch here for our renovations, well planning of them, so we had to go get it taken care of before I left. We have almost everything picked out and are waiting for our bid from our contractor. We are hoping to start the actual renovations in the beginning of October. Fingers crossed.

After our appointments, I did some grocery shopping for Rory and the girls, cooked dinner and hung out with my family. Once the girls were asleep, I started packing. Packing is never fun. Especially when you are packing for almost two weeks.

After all was said and done, we relaxed for the remainder of the evening.

Saturday morning we headed out to breakfast and then I spent my time with the girls, Walter and Rory. I wanted to get in as much time with them as possible. We also started watching the Notre Dame vs. Nevada game which I finished at the airport.

At 2:30, we loaded the girls and my luggage up and headed to the airport. I cried a lot because this will be the longest amount of time that I have been away from the girls or Rory. It will be hard, but I know I will be ok. But let's just say there were A LOT of tears and hugs.

I won't bore you with the details of my flights, but let's just say I made it safely, drank a bunch of wine on the plane and watched many movies.

These next two weeks, I will be having some amazing ladies guest post for me. Plus there will be a few posts from me. I will still be hosting Confessional Thursday, so be sure to link up.

Friday Happenings

It's Friday already. I can hardly believe it. When I want the week to fly by, it goes at a slow turtle pace. But when I need the extra time, I can barely blink and it is Friday. It doesn't help that this week was a short week.

But I am here and ready to tackle the day.

One. I so wish that cute utility vest would magically appear at my house today, so I could take it to Europe with me. But alas, it is not. No patience around here. But I had to share it again because I love it so much and can't wait to wear it all the time and find new outfits to pair it with.

Pearl and Monroe also posted this shirt and it took everything in me not to buy it. Self control Danielle.

Two. We are headed to the pediatrician this afternoon. Remember how Miss Avery had a boil on her bum not too long ago? Well now Sutton has one or something similar. So we want to get it checked out before I leave on my trip and make sure she is ok. At least we get to see how much she weighs and what her stats are. I always love seeing how much my girls have grown and change since the last appointment. I don't love paying the pediatrician though. Ha.

Three. Rory was in LA on Tuesday night for work and instead of doing laundry or starting to pack, I tried on all my new clothes (from my gift cards) and my new Clark boots. I loved my boots so much that I finally decided to throw out my old black riding boots that had a hole in the bottom. But I didn't stop there. I started going through all of my shoes and getting rid of so many pairs.

I like to keep my nicer shoes in their boxes and stack them. Well I had a bunch of empty boxes since the shoes were on the closet floor. But I got rid of about 20 boxes and 10 pairs of shoes. My closet looks so much better. Plus it made room for new shoes!

Four. I am leaving on a jet plane tomorrow and I am so excited and nervous. I have several guest posts coming your way over the next two weeks. All of them are new guest posters and some of my favorite bloggers. There is a post on makeup, motherhood, Fall things, loving yourself and many more. I can't wait to introduce you all to some of my blogging friends.

Five. As always, I am window shopping or putting everything into my shopping cart online and never buying it. I need all the good deals and then I will drop the money. Recently, this has been in and out of my shopping cart. Good news for me is, it is sold out. Bad news is, it will be back soon and my wallet will lose some cash.

I am linking up with Karli, April and Erica.

I CONFESS...

/ that I am just a little (ok A LOT) stressed out over my trip. I have been prepping for this trip for a long time it feels like, but I just want it to come together and go smoothly. This means from the flights to my girls being without me for two weeks. And lord, please get rid of these zits on my face from the stress.

/ that I probably should have started packing yesterday, but ain't nobody got time for that when you have a Fantasy Football draft.

/ that I bought a bunch of candy for my trip this weekend. I love sugar when traveling which will probably make my zits even worse.

/ that I want to buy all the beautiful things for myself on this trip, but I probably won't even get one thing for myself.

/ that I absolutely love when my girls play with my hair. I remember doing this to my mom when I was younger and now I adore it just as much.

/ that I am looking forward to the sleep I HOPE to get while I am in Europe.

/ that I may have bought myself a utility vest from Pearl and Monroe this week. I couldn't resist and I was looking everywhere for one. This one has a hood that detaches, is warm on the inside and cinches in. I can't wait to receive it.

/ that I wanted the new iphone that is coming out, but I want to wait for next year's model as it will be a complete redesign since it's the 10th anniversary of the iphone. Sold.

And that is it for my confessions this week. I hope you join me in linking up below.

Toddler Halloween Costume Ideas

And just like that Tuesday is almost over and I can barely get my act together to write a post. I wanted to link up with Jenn and Jessi, so I am cranking out a post here in a short amount of time. #momproblems

I have been searching for the girls' Halloween costumes for a bit now and I have some of my favorites pinned in hopes I finally pull the trigger. If you have suggestions or places to find cute toddler costumes, please send them my way. Heck, send me what your kids are going to be since we all live far away.

Here are some favorites of mine so far:
 via

A couple of lady bugs. Dying over the cuteness. Rory thinks the girls will get cold, but we can always add a red long sleeve shirt under it. Or do the indoor trick or treating in town.

This one has totally won me over, but the price tag is a bit of an ouch considering I have to purchase two of these. But still cute. And we must have the matching buckets, right? Right.

Toddler donuts, oh yes that would be soooo cute. I love donuts and my girls have tried them twice now and they are also huge fans.

Cute little toddler bees. I may not like the real bees sine I am allergic, but there is just something so sweet about toddlers being bugs. We would have to add a long sleeve shirt, but they would be so adorable as bees.

What other suggestions do you have for this mommy? And PLEASE no, $100 price tags. We already did the Thing 1 and Thing 2 last year if you remember, and if not, here is a picture from last year.

Look at how tiny my girls were.

Labor Day Weekending

Another weekend in the books and another weekend closer to the end of the year. I can't believe how fast time is flying right now, but we are soaking in as much as possible.

This weekend was pretty amazing even though it was a bit hectic.

Friday after work, we took the girls over to my parents house and loaded up their car with all of the girls' things, so they could go camping. As soon as we left, I was already missing them. But we didn't have much time, so we headed back to Reno for a quick lunch and then Rory dropped me off at my hair appointment. I may have even fell asleep when my hair was setting. Maybe. After two hours of glorious time in the chair, I took an Uber to the tailgate where I indulged on food and yummy drinks.

It was finally game time and time to go see the renovations to the stadium. Our ticket prices went way up this year to accommodate the renovations and I am happy to say that I am liking it so far.
Finally a new screen and sound system. It's the little things.
Gorgeous sunset over the field.

The Wolf Pack barely pulled out a win in overtime, but I will take it. It felt so good to be back in the stadium watching college football. This weekend, the Pack heads to Notre Dame which will probably end in us getting crushed, but I will still be watching it. Unfortunately, with my work travel, I will miss the next home game, so I won't be going to another one until early October. Boo.

After the game, we were hungry since we ate so early, so we decided to venture out for some food. We felt sort of weird since we can't do that anymore with the girls being at home, but since they were gone, we took full advantage of it. First, we tried to go get some fries, but the lines were crazy. So we went to my favorite pizza place for a huge slice and it did NOT disappoint. So good!!

Saturday morning, we went to breakfast and came home to finishing packing up our stuff for camping. We made it to the camp grounds about 1 pm and the girls were already taking their nap. So we just hung out, had a beer and enjoyed the sunshine.

Once the girls got up, we were excited to play with them, but they had other plans. They were a bit sassy, so it made for an eventful evening. Of course, they were perfect angels for grandma and grandpa. Isn't that how it always is?

After the girls went to bed, we sat by the campfire and hung out with family and friends. And I may have cried over the fact that I couldn't participate in my Fantasy Draft that evening since the girls wouldn't let it happen. I did manage to pick 4 players and then went into auto draft. Let's hope I do decent with this team. Luckily, it isn't my money league.

Sunday, we got up bright and early to play with the girls who were in much better moods. My mom made us all breakfast and we took many walks and played all day long. When the girls went down for a nap, we went and had ice cream, a drink in the bar and watched some football.

Once the girls were up, we went on another walk to a grassy area to play around. And this is where my girls decided to hold hands and melt all of our hearts. So sweet. You may have seen my video on IG showing them holding hands.

That evening, we watched Zootopia in my parents 5th wheel while we made the girls and ourselves dinner. The girls were having the best time. It was a really good day. After they went to bed, we sat by the fire once again and it was sooo nice to relax with family and friends.

Monday morning we got up early again and this time I made everyone breakfast. Pancakes which were a hit with the girls, but that isn't a surprise since they love pancakes.

After breakfast, we packed up while my parents took the girls for a walk. Around 11 am, we headed out for the almost two hour drive home.

But on the way, we stopped at Starbucks for some coffee and a pupacchino for Walter.

Once we got home, we took showers and baths, did a bunch of laundry, cleaned the house, went grocery shopping, mowed the lawn, made dinner and the girls crashed out early. After dinner, we had to give Walter a bath and now he smells so nice and is sooo soft.

We ended the evening with some Bachelor in Paradise and scotch. Perfect way to end Labor Day weekend.

How was your weekend?

Friday Favorites and Happenings

I am so glad it is Friday. We have a very busy weekend, followed by a busy next week. Which also means, Europe is right around the corner...as in 8 days. Yikes.

But let's get down to my Friday Favorites and Happenings.

One. So we all know that I am a planner. I probably over plan, but it's just in my blood. Since we are getting wood floors now, I started to look into vacuums for said floors. I know a lot of people love the Roomba, but I can't get over the price. Nobody has that money after renovating their kitchen. Maybe I should have planned better and budgeted it into our budget, but that didn't happen. So Mattie, recently talked about the ILife robotic vacuum that is very similar, but costs so much less. $175 less to be exact. I have never been so excited to clean my floors. I am sure Walter will hate it, but I will LOVE it. Thanks for the recommendation Mattie.

Two. I finally found a pair of black riding boots to replace my old ones. I am a lover of Clarks boots and have a pair of pretty brown leather boots I got a few years back. Since I loved those ones that much, I decided to get another pair of Clarks. This time I got the Swansea version and I really hope I love them. It was between this pair and another, but this one seemed better for cold weather and snow. Meet my new boots.

Three. It's game day and I couldn't be more excited. I can't wait to tailgate, walk into the newly renovated stadium and sit in my cush seats. We may have to pay double for our seats now, but at least I will be sitting in style....for at least this season. Next season, they charge my little ladies and I am not about to pay over $500 a ticket for them (each).

Four. I have to say something about this because I just can't pass on it. I am a die hard 49ers fan. I am also a die hard Nevada Wolf Pack fan (I went to college at the same university as Colin did). I have been a fan for life and I am disgusted by Kap's actions (wearing a Fidel Castro shirt, wearing pig socks with a cop hat, not standing for the national anthem, running his mouth, etc.). I get that he is fighting for what he believes in, but he is doing in the wrong manner. By protesting the national anthem by sitting down, he is disgracing this nation. He isn't standing up for his rights. He cares so much about the Black Lives Matter movement, yet he hasn't lived the "oppressed life". Try hanging out in Oakland at night in the "hood" and let me know how bad your life is Colin.

He had some pretty amazing parents who adopted him and educated him to be a good human being. He was drafted to the NFL and it all started to change. Fame got to his head and he turned into someone I don't even recognize. This is NOT the Colin I know and met in 2009. I stood up for him when people bashed him based on his twitter account and how he was "played out". But I am done. I am washing my hands of him and I am thankful my university is too. They are taking down memorabilia that commemorates him. We don't want that sort of attitude and hate here. Bye bye Colin.

End rant.

Five. It's Fall in my book since it's after September 1st, so that means I can finally go hog wild at Bath and Body Works. We went to the mall a few weeks ago and I wanted to buy the entire store, but my husband told me I HAD to wait until September 1st to bust out my Fall gear. This also means that I had to wait to buy new candles and hand soaps. You better believe I am sneaking in a trip there later today or Monday. Here is what I have in my shopping cart.

Leaves is my go to candle during the Fall and I need another one as we burned the old one constantly. I love everything apple, so honeycrisp always wins. And give me all the pumpkin, spice and yumminess.

I may scoop up more as I have a 40% off coupon and everything is already on sale. Any other scents you recommend? Tell me your favorites.

Have a great weekend.

I am linking up with Karli, April and Erica.

Confessional Thursday

It's Thursday and I am here for another installment of Confessional Thursday. Grab the button, write your confessions and come back here to link up with me.

I CONFESS...

/ that I really wanted a backyard like my family has in Inverness/Point Reyes, CA. It was so big, luscious and beautiful. We would have to move to a bigger house or to the Bay Area and I am not moving to the Bay Area. Which brings me to my next confession...

/ that I hate Bay Area traffic. It was the worst. To sit there for a half an hour and barely get through a mile kills me. Just kills me. Especially when you have fussy toddlers. They prefer to be moving in the car. When we stop like that, they think it is time to get out of the car.

/ that Rory and I may have emptied a bottle of wine Saturday evening after our day in Inverness.

/ that I have been counting down the days until tomorrow because it is our first home game of the season. I love going to watch Wolf Pack. Plus, our lady babies will be out camping with my parents, so we get to enjoy a full three hours of tailgating! That hasn't happened since the girls were born.

/ that I can't wait until we go camping Saturday with my family and friends. We are camping in style. My parents got a brand new 5th wheel and we will be camping inside that baby for two days. Bring on the glamping.

/ that I love having friends who own the Wolf Pack official merchandising store. I saw a shirt on a mannequin that I HAD to have, but couldn't find it in the store, so my friend hand delivered it to my house to wear tomorrow.

/ that Fall is here (ok not officially) and I had my first Fall-ish drink this week. I told myself I would wait until September 1st, but I broke down on Monday (the 29th). I had a delicious dirty chai latte. Yum. Tastes like Fall.

/ that I am really wanting to get in a girls night before I leave for two weeks, but our days are so busy between renovation appointments and work that I might not be able too. Boo.
