9/11

I wanted to pop in since today is the anniversary of 9/11. This day had such a huge impact on everyone. I remember the day so vividly.

I was in college as a freshman and I had an early Macro Economics class. I went to class as usual, but as soon as I walked in, the tv was on, my professor was watching with his mouth hanging open and I learned what happened that morning. We didn't have a real class that morning. We all just sat there in silence watching the towers explode. We were all crying and in complete shock. Several of my new friends were from NYC and were scrambling to make sure their families were ok. Most of them couldn't get ahold of their families. I can't even imagine how that felt. I didn't know anyone personally, but it still impacted me. That was the day that America changed FOREVER.

I sit back and think about this day each year and how it changed me, society and the world. And today I sit in an office in London and it has even more of a different meaning to me. I can't even explain it, but even here in London, people know what today is, how it affected everyone and the fear that it brings.

So remember to hug your family, say I love you and think of all those men and women fighting for our country to keep it safe. To keep you safe.

  5. Ah it seems like yesterday and so long ago! We must never forget. I was in college too and watched the second plane hit the tower on the big projector screen in the media lab, so eerie.

  6. Amen! It was so heartbreaking to relive this day when I had to explain to my 8 year old what happened and field all of his questions!

  7. I, too, was in college and I had a Microeconomics class that morning. Every single detail from that day is etched in my mind and I'm sure it will be there forever. Such a sad day for our world.

  8. I was a freshman in college as well. It happened as we were finishing a literary class and I remember walking back to my dorm and campus was eerily quiet. When I walked in to my dorm room, my roommate had the TV and she was bawling on the floor and I quickly realized what was going on and was in complete shock as well. That really was when everything changed.

  9. It is still so hard to believe that it has been 17 years since that day.
