Weekending

*This post contains affiliate links.

I finally got around to writing my weekend update. I had every intention on writing it Sunday night/early Monday morning and then I woke up on Monday not feeling so well. That was just after midnight too. I ate something that didn't agree with me and my stomach is still not all that great.

But let's back up to Friday. I worked on Friday and then had my follow-up appointment to my Botox. I didn't have to get any other injections and my face did exactly what we wanted it too. Seriously, Botox is amazing. So happy with my results.

After my appointment, I grabbed some lunch and then headed over to Hobby Lobby. I was looking at some wedding ideas for my sister. I sent her this since we are trying to figure out something to put on the gift table or the welcome table.

Obviously we would do some painting of letters and things.

After HL, I went to Petco for some food for Walter and then headed home. We had a meeting at 2:30 at our house with our homeowners insurance company. They are doing evaluations on replacement home costs, so we had that appraisal/evaluation done.

Then I headed to Nordstrom Rack to check out the kids shoes (my MIL got the girls some cute ones there earlier in the week) and browse for somethings for myself. I bought two shirts for work.

I headed to Trader Joes after to pick up some snacks, granola (it is my favorite, Toasted Coconut Granola), wine, cheese, cookies and dark chocolate peanut butter cups (my new favorite!).

Then I headed home and we picked up the girls. We made tri-tip with roasted asparagus and garlic herb rice.

Saturday morning, we headed over to Holey Schmidt donuts. I got my usual caramel macchiato donut. The girls each got a pink cake donut with an animal circus cookie and Rory got a chai donut. We also got a churro donut and a french toast donut for later.

After donuts we headed home since my parents would be over to watch the girls while we went to the Spring Wolf Pack football game. Our friends did their usual tailgate with bbq ribs, brisket, mac n cheese, beans and corn bread. Plus they had an open bar.

The coach even stopped by for a pep talk.

Then we headed into the game and they had us all seated on the home side which was in the shade. It wasn't a warm day to start and then you add in the crazy wind and it was cold. We ended up staying until half time because it just got way too cold.

After the game, we chatted with my parents for awhile and then headed to Target and Steak and Shake for dinner. I had never been before. It was good, but I was still full from the bbq food that I couldn't finish anything. Ha.

We got home late and got the girls ready for bed and then watched some tv before calling it a night ourselves.

We got up Sunday and had some leftover donuts and coffee plus some cereal for the girls. Then we got ready, did some chores and then I headed out for brunch with my girlfriends. We went to a brewery and the wait was pretty long, but they recently opened up a tap room next door, so we hung out there for a bit.

We had brunch and talked for a long time and it was sooo nice to catch up. I haven't seen them since Rory's 40th birthday party. Way too long.

Then I headed to the grocery store and came home. We were supposed to go car shopping while my sister watched the girls, but that didn't pan out. Oh well. So I sat and hung out with my sister and gave her the gifts we got her in Mexico.

That evening my stomach ache started coming on and I didn't eat dinner. Nor did I make dinner. The girls had chicken nuggets, apple sauce and some cheese and Rory fended for himself. That night it got worse. So my weekend didn't end on a high note, but it was still a good weekend.

How was your weekend?

  10. Nordstrom Rack is my favorite place for just about everything!!! I have several tops from both of those brands you mentioned. And all of Zoe's shoes in her current size are from there so far. She needs more. Those donuts look so delicious! Sorry you weren't feeling well, that is the worst.

    1. That is awesome. They have great stuff. I love how I can get my favorite brands there for much cheaper. They have way better prices on kids shoes for sure. I found some similar Tom's there to the ones I posted on Friday. The donuts are heaven. Pure heaven.

  12. Ugh. Hate when they end on a bad note, but girl, thank you for doing Botox and getting me into it. Best thing I ever did. Love the donut pics with the girls. I missed our spring game this year since it was 40 degrees and raining that day. Can't wait til August!
