Bachelorette Weekending

My weekend update is coming to you a little late as I had to edit some photos and sort through the ones that were sent to me. Don't worry. We kept it pretty PG. I think my sister had a pretty great weekend. I do know this...I am old and just can't hang anymore. ha. I was the first one asleep each night and no it wasn't from being drunk. Just plain being tired. I sobered up both nights before heading home as I wanted to make sure my sister had the best time and everything went well.

Friday after work, I ran a few errands, came home to finish packing and then they picked me up. We drove the 3 ish hours to Chico and made a few quick bathroom stops along the way.

We didn't make to the AirBnB until almost 8 pm. Once we got there, we freshened up, changed and headed out to eat. We went to Burgers and Brews. Then we headed to Argus for some specialty cocktails. Since it was May 4th, they had a Star Wars theme going on and I got a drink called the Taun Taun Tito. It has Titos infused with strawberry, hibiscus and balsamic vinegar. After having a drink, we then headed to the Banshee for another drink. After hanging out at Banshee for a bit, we then headed to The Bear. We have a place where I live that is just like the Bear and is owned by the same people. We had lots of water and a drink each. It was about 1:15 am when we left. Once we got back to the AirBnB, I crashed. I haven't stayed up that late in awhile.

Saturday morning we got up pretty early and got ready. We had some coffee and then went back to downtown for brunch at B Street Public House. They have the yummiest open faced sandwiches and vanilla bean lattes.

On our way back to our car, we found some statues and perfect places for a photo op.

From there, we headed to Oroville for some wine tasting. Our first stop was Hickman Family Winery. We tried about 6 wines and some had some spirits from their distillery. After wine tasting, we bought a bottle and walked around the property. We spent a lot longer here than we anticipated, but had a great time.

After Hickman, we went to Long Creek Winery, but first we stopped and picked up lunch to eat there. I can't remember where it was from but it was really good. One of the girls there, lives in Chico, so she set this whole day up. Oh and don't worry, our driver doesn't drink at all, so we had a sober driver all weekend!

Once we got to Long Creek, we set up lunch outside on picnic tables and ate before wine tasting.

After wine tasting, I bought a bottle to take home and then we walked the property. We were told to be mindful since they had just killed a baby rattlesnake earlier in the day.

Our final stop was back in downtown Oroville at Purple Line Urban Winery. While I liked how beautiful it was inside the tasting room, they weren't the nicest people.

We had some wine and then headed out back to sit in the sun and figure out what we were doing next.

My eyes are shut, but otherwise, it is a cute photo.

After wine tasting, we headed to the store to get things to make for breakfast the next morning and some snacks. Then we learned a line dance for that night and Ashley's wedding. We freshened up and one of the girls brought over a penis pinata. It was super funny and so many boomerangs were taken. Then we headed out to Tres Hombre's since it was Cinco De Mayo. I was told they have the best avocado margarita's there, so many of us order those.

Dinner on the other hand was very hit and miss. Several of us ordered the same thing and 3 out of the 6 who ate got sick from the food. Two of them very badly. Luckily, it didn't happen until way later in the night.

After dinner, we went to the Crazy Horse for some dancing, bull riding and hanging out. We danced a ton and then went home just about 1 am. Not long after we got home, two of the girls got really sick and it continued on through the morning. One of the girls who got sick doesn't drink, so we know it was the food. Ugh. Luckily, not everyone got sick, but some of us had queasy stomachs from it.

Sunday we got up, made breakfast and got ready to go. We left just after 12 pm, but not before busting open the penis pinata which had lots of candy in it. We said our goodbyes and then left. I got home just before 3 pm and the girls were so excited to see me.

The rest of the day was spent grocery shopping, cleaning, making dinner and hanging out with my family. It was a great weekend, but I am still tired from it. I can't wait to celebrate my sister in a month!!!!

How was your weekend?

  1. Such a fun weekend, except for the food poisoning -- ugh! What was it that they ate, do you think? Glad the rest was a success, though. Those girls weekends are so necessary.

  8. Lol a penis pinata!! #Classic But seriously, that sucks that some of y'all got food poisoning! Ugh. And that avocado margarita looks so interesting. I can't say that I've ever seen one of those. I love avocados but I'm just not sure what to think about this. It sounds very intriguing.

  11. That winery looks pretty fabulous. You seem to have combined all elements of a fun week-end - BRUNCH, Margs (I've never heard of an avocado one - ummmm that would be a good excuse to drink more - 'omega 3s, one more please waiter). So cool you rode the bull. I probably would have been sick at that point! Great week-end and cool pics! Joanne x
