Weekending

Our weekend was good, but ended in sickness with Miss Avery. We took walks, ran errands, went car shopping and to a birthday party at Chuck E. Cheeses.

Friday we worked half day and then grabbed lunch before picking the girls up from daycare. We had to be home at 2 pm for an appointment. We want to get our trees trimmed, stumps ground and a few other things. The guy called right when we got into town and asked if he could come over the next day. Boo. But I suggested Target and all was right again.

We bought some clothes, things for Mexico and so many other things that we didn't need. But we did get a birthday present for the party we attended on Sunday.

We went home, took a walk and then headed out for pizza. The girls loved pizza and got super messy eating it. But we ended up with some cute photos!

We came home and watched some Parenthood before calling it a night.

Saturday morning we headed out to breakfast and then came home and did things around the house. We took a walk, did laundry, started packing and more chores around the house. A little Spring cleaning.

Then after the girls' nap, we watched the Nevada Wolf Pack basketball play in the Mountain West Championship. And guess what? They won and are onto the big dance on Thursday! Feels so good after being left out for almost 10 years. Ugh.

I went grocery shopping and made spaghetti that evening. We watched more Parenthood and ended the evening with a glass of wine.

Sunday Avery started showing signs of being sick (eye infection), so we gave her the drops we still had and tried to nip it in the butt.

I made pancakes and bacon for breakfast and then my in-laws came over shortly after so Rory and I could go test drive some vehicles we had in mind. I will write a whole post on car shopping, our thoughts and what we are thinking about doing. After car shopping, we came home and headed out shortly after to the girls' friends birthday party. It was at dreaded Chuck E. Cheeses. But we wanted to go to meet other parents from their daycare and since Emma just loves the girls. She can always tell them apart and always gets their lunch pails when we pick the girls up each evening.

It was interesting to say the least. I hope to not go there for a very long time. It was chaos, but the girls had fun riding some rides and putting the tokens in machines. They didn't really care for playing the games. We didn't stay the whole time because Avery was getting cranky.

We headed home and gave the girls baths (immediately), got them ready for bed and called it a night. Rory went out to get us some Chipotle and we ended our evening with more Parenthood.

Can we just talk about how awful daylight savings time is? I love the longer days and just want to keep it like this. No going backwards. My girls stayed up an hour and a half later Sunday evening and didn't sleep in at all. Ugh. No one is getting sleep in this house. And then add the sickness on top of it and we are a tired household.

Yesterday we stayed home since we had to take Avery to the doctor. Diagnosis says common cold with an ear infection. Sutton is pretty healthy though. And she gave us the go ahead to go to Mexico Friday. Thank goodness. We just have to bring Avery's antibiotics with us and luckily it doesn't need to be refrigerated. Fingers crossed Avery gets better soon and we all are healthy come Friday.

Until tomorrow.

  9. Glad you can take her meds with you and relax your way into recovery ;) I saw your team made the tournament and I was thinking about you. Very cool! UNC got a top spot, but Andy's favorite team (Syracuse) didn't so that was a bummer. I'm jealous you got time outside for walks. It has been too cold here. Hoping for some warmer weather. Counting down with you for your trip!

  10. All of the pictures of the girls are just so sweet! I love those messy pizza photos. And girl, I totally feel ya on the daylight savings time! I hate it! Olivia stayed up until 10 Sunday night and then until after 9 last night because she's just not tired. Then she was cranky all evening yesterday and cranky again this morning. Not to mention I've been on the struggle bus from feeling like I'm waking an hour early. DST really does suck!

  13. Simon likes Chuck E Cheese and it's ok for some cheap fun, but it doesn't last very long. I hate changing the clocks in the spring. I hope Avery is all better!

  14. I hope Avery is starting to feeling better! Chuck E Cheese is always chaotic but my boys love it. The last three parties they went to were there. We're hoping to take a little break from that place too lol. Ugh car shopping is definitely something else! Beautifully Candid
