Weekending

I'm back for another Monday and from a weekend that didn't go as planned. Between Rory being sick and the bad weather, it threw our weekend plans off.

Friday after work, I met up with some ladies from my twin mom group. They had plans for lunch and a movie, but I could only make the lunch. We talked all about our children, being parents, got advice on our little ones and made plans to do it again. It was so much fun and only a small amount of girls could be there for this one.

After lunch, I stopped at Victoria Secret to see if they had a nude bralette like my black one I have. They didn't and I wasn't impressed with the bralette selection this year. Total bummer. If you know of any cute nude bralettes send them way so I can check them out. I also stopped in Bath and Body Works to snag some candles. They had some three wick candles on sale for $15 (normally $22.50). I got the watermelon lemonade and tiki mango. Amazing. We have already burned the mango one.

After a bit of shopping, I headed home to put a quick load into the washer and headed over to my Strange Bikini appointment. I had so much fun trying on all the samples, altering designs she had to be customized to me and picking a brand new color she just got into stock. I can't wait to see how it turns out. Best way to get a bikini by far.

After my appointment, I went home to change the laundry over and hang out before dinner. At 5 pm, I headed to dinner with my mom and sister. After a quick dinner, we went to Picasso and Wine to paint tidal waves. During our session, a lady passed out and the fire department and paramedics came in to help her. So crazy. But we had so much fun with the class. My mom and sister loved it.

Saturday morning, we got up and headed to breakfast since Rory was too sick to play in his golf tournament. He played in the work one on Friday and was feeling pretty crappy. He did go to the doctor and just had a viral infection, so it just has to work its course.

At 12 pm, I headed to my old bosses celebration of life. It was huge, amazing and beautiful. When I pass, I hope I have that many friends and family that come to celebrate my life. And I would love for it to be in a huge park with lots of food and drinks as well. The stories were the best, many laughs were had and I got to see so many of my old co-workers. Total silver lining.

I stayed longer than I planned, but headed home to meet Rory and my parents who were going to watch the girls. We were supposed to go out for drinks and a baseball game to celebrate my friend graduating nursing school, but since Rory was still sick, we had to pass. We were also invited out with my friends, but again we passed. Instead, we ran a few errands without the girls and had dinner out. A sort of day date. Dinner was phenomenal and we were able to reminisce about my old boss and how precious life is.

We got home early to relieve my parents of babysitting duty, chatted for awhile and went to bed early.

Sunday we went to breakfast again, did some grocery shopping, bought some new sunglasses (finally), visited with my in-laws, took a long walk, made dinner and did our nightly routine with the girls. We crashed out pretty early, but it was a good day.

Tonight I am looking forward to the Bachelorette and I am loading up on coffee now to make it through my day and be awake enough to watch the entire first episode. Yes, I am a total grandma and go to bed pretty early (other than Bachelorette nights).

Hope you had a great weekend!

Today I am linking up with Biana from B Loved Boston.

    2. I do work half days on Fridays. I am off anywhere from 11 am to 1 pm depending on how many times I hit the gym at lunch time. I love half day Fridays.

Super pumped for the Bachelorette. Rory watches with me, but isn't that excited. I bring it up daily and he shakes his head at me. Ha.

  6. I'm sorry your weekend didn't go as planned, but it sounded pretty good regardless. Those wine and painting parties sound like so much fun - I've never been to one. Your paintings turned out pretty great! Loving those new sunglasses! Hope Rory is feeling better!

    1. It was pretty good overall. You should see if you have any local paint and wine parties. You don't have to drink wine. They have other non-alcoholic drinks and you get to have beautiful paintings! Rory is feeling better today and I am loving my new sunnies.

    2. It was a good weekend overall and I am happy that I got to do another painting and I got some new sunnies. I needed them so badly. And I was inspired by all the sunnies I saw at the celebration of life this weekend. They had us wear the biggest and boldest sunglasses in honor of Martin because he always wore them. So that was pretty cool too. Hope you are having a great Monday as well!

  8. Hooray for new sunglasses finally! Glad you finally treated yourself... you deserve it! And boooo to Rory being sick now. Jeez, between the two of y'all it seems like you've been sick for 2 weeks straight. I hope he gets better soon and I hope everyone is well so you can all enjoy your long weekend this coming weekend!

    1. Thank you. I couldn't take my crappy ones anymore. It feels like we have been sick forever. It never goes away. We are hoping it warms up here to so we can go camping this weekend like we planned!

  9. I love Aerie bralettes but they don't appear to have any nude ones either. Weird. It seems like a logical item to sell?

    1. I know. Nude is a great color for hiding the different colored shirts I have. Ugh. The search continues.

  11. OMG, um, I wish I could fit into a bralette.... I'm guessing they don't make them in DDD (insert monkey emoji with hands covering face). Yay for B&B candles on sale!! Loving the new sunnies - I just scored some Cole Haan ones at Nordstrom Rack online, but they are a wee bit large (but I can't seem to part with them because they were marked down so stinking much). Anyway, the TBs are darling!

    1. haha. I was there last year when I was breastfeeding and pumping. I had a bralette and wore it once and I just spilled out of it. But since I stopped pumping, I have the tiniest boobs now. It's sad. I am really loving my Tory sunnies. I wouldn't part with the glasses either. I am sure they look great.

  12. I'm just super jealous you have all these friends and get invited to stuff!! Haha. I would wear bralettes but still not sure about the lace and how it would show through tshirts (and let's be real, I only really wear workout clothes)

    1. It isn't as much as you would think. I get sad because I don't get to go out as often because I have two babies. I love my girls, but I think people are afraid to go out with us, come over or do stuff with the girls unless it is family. We mostly have to get a babysitter. I hope to come up there for work in the near future and you can take me to the breweries!!!! Haha. I love workout clothes and the lace bralettes don't show through my shirts too much.
