It's time for Confessional Thursday. So sit back, confess your heart out, grab the button below and link up at the bottom. Easy.
I confess that this sickness has been the worst sickness I have experienced in years. I haven't been this sick since I had a bad bout with bronchitis in 2006. Go away sickness. You are not welcome here anymore.
I confess that I didn't get to enjoy my Mother's Day dinner as much as I would have liked since I was so sick. I had been craving sushi for DAYS and we went for it. My tastebuds were off, but the food was still delicious. Plus the girls were getting fussy, so I didn't even get to have their homemade ice cream. But on a high note, the girls loved edamame.
I confess that I have had to buy a bunch of my toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, foundation, eyeliner) online these last two weeks. Ain't nobody got time to go to the store when you are sick and you have two hyper toddlers.
I confess that I still haven't bought sunglasses and I am rocking my broken ones that I have to put the lens back in at least 3 times a day. I need to buy new sunglasses, but just won't pull the trigger.
I confess I almost cried when getting on the scale at the doctor's office this week. How can I have gained weight when my pants still fit from last year (at my lowest weight in ages and my lowest pant size since high school)? The doctor said my weight was great and that muscle weighs more than fat, but seriously, pregnancy changes your body in ways you can't imagine or see.
I confess I can still taste/smell the stuff I cough up each morning. The worst. TMI, I don't care.
I confess that I miss my best friend in Oklahoma. I am counting down the days until she visits for her sister's graduation.
I confess that there is nothing sweeter than hearing the squeals from my girls after we put them to bed. They will sit up in their cribs and look through the slates or stand up and babble at each other. They laugh at each other and play for about 10 minutes before settling in for the night. They truly love each other and there is nothing sweeter than that.
I confess that I can't stand when people chew loudly or smack their lips when they are eating. Eat quietly please.
And that's it for my confessions this week. Don't forget to link up below.
Yes, yes, yes! I agree with so many of the confessions. I hate that you didn't get to enjoy your Mother's Day dinner. That stinks. :( The girls bedtime routine is just adorable. Do you watch them on the monitor to see what they do? Just htink of what it'll be like once they have more words. :)
ReplyDeleteI do watch them and we sneak by their door and video it sometimes. Ha. I can't wait until they talk to each other. So adorable!
DeleteGirl I so know what you mean about craving something and then being sick so it doesn't taste as good!! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston
ReplyDeleteIt sucks and I want a redo on my sushi. And maybe without my girls there. Ha.
DeleteHope you feel better soon! It sucks to be down for the count on Mother's Day!! :(
ReplyDeleteYes it does. Hoping I am starting to get better.
DeleteGet better, sick is the pits. And girl I just don't get on the scale anymore not worth it.
ReplyDeleteI never get on the scale either. It was at the doctor's office. I shouldn't have looked. Ugh.
DeleteAwwww being sick is the worst. I hate the taste of medicine that doesn't seem to go away for a long time. Like the zinc and cough drop taste lasts forever. Hoping for great weather and lots of healthy days ahead!
ReplyDeleteUgh. Yes those are gross too! Me too!
DeleteHave you let the girls try sushi yet? I'd like to offer to it to Mila but I wonder how she'll react since it's such a different food. I honestly wouldn't worry about the scale. Before getting pregnant, I weighed less than I did when I got married, but my clothes certainly don't fit the same. If your pants fit from when you were at your lowest weight, I'd say you're good. :) Plus, you looked fantastic on vacation. I wish my body looked as good as yours and I'm almost 3 years post-baby! Feel better!!
ReplyDeleteI haven't let them try it yet. I didn't think they could have shell fish and raw stuff until they were 2. I might be wrong. They have had cooked salmon though! Awe thank you. I hate looking at the scale and shouldn't next time I go to the doctor's.
DeleteGirl, first off, get you some new sunglasses! Just do it! Second of all, that is the sweetest thing that the girls babble and laugh with each other before bedtime. They are going to be the best of friends when they get older. So sweet. Finally, I hate that I couldn't link up today! Ugh, Olivia had a stomach virus yesterday so I didn't have a chance to write anything. Next week I'll be back!
ReplyDeleteHa. I know I need to get the sunglasses. That also requires me to go to the store which is a hassle. I will set out to do it this weekend! Awe, I hope Olivia feels better. Sickness is awful lately and hope its only a 24 hour thing for her.
DeleteI love the girls bedtime babbling! That's the sweetest. They will have so much fun as they grow up! So sorry you're still not 100%. Being sick is the worst. Being sick on Mother's Day takes the cake!
ReplyDeleteMe too!!! I can't wait to see how they are with each other as they grow up. It's pretty amazing seeing their bond already. I just hope my sickness goes away soon. I am over it!
DeleteI have to stick to cheapo sunglasses because I break them or lose them a lot! Just got a pair of $10 ones from Walmart yesterday 😬 Hope you're feeling better soon!!
ReplyDeleteI would love to find a pair of cheaper sunglasses to use until I find the right ones. And thank you!
DeleteJust think of what the girls must be saying to each other. That is so sweet!
ReplyDeleteI know, right? One of my favorite photos of them is from their newborn shoot (they were 6 weeks since they were in the NICU for 4 weeks) and it looks like Avery is telling Sutton a secret. I love love love it.
DeleteThe taste of food in your mouth - I know exactly what you mean! It's awful for me after breakfast, mostly cereals. It's so weird and makes me not want to eat cereal. But I keep eating it because it's quick. Eh... Also, it's not a bad idea to buy your toiletries online, delivery straight to your door! And yes a hundred times over to the eating loudly thing. It drives me bonkers. I can't stand it. If I can, I try and play music if there's a loud eater at the table, just so I don't loose my mind. haha. How cute it must be to listen to your girls babble away at each other!
ReplyDeleteI have been getting free shipping on my toiletries so it is even better! I zone in on the loud eating and I can't not hear it. It is awful. I love watching my girls bond and talk.
DeleteOh my goodness the smacking! There is a guy in my office that has a sucker about 52 times a day and the sounds drive me up the wall! -xx Leah || Chasing Texas
ReplyDeleteOh yes. Those are the worst. I have to play music or I quietly say things over and over like stop snorting, stop chewing so loudly. Awful.
DeleteI've gained weight too, even though my pants are fitter better than they did a few months ago! I hate it!!! I'm dreading my appt and getting weighed.. my Dr's scale is always on the heavy side. Ugh. And yes, loud eaters need to go eat somewhere else!!!!
ReplyDeleteYes I don't understand their scales. I know muscle weighs more than fat, but have I really gained that much muscle? I think it's the wine. haha. Oh how I miss wine since being sick.
DeleteI am always missing my out of town best friends - in a perfect world we'd all live in the same spot. Some are coming into town this weekend for a bridal shower and I can't wait.
ReplyDeleteI agree. I wish she hadn't moved, but it was for her husbands job, so I understand. Just sucks sometimes. Oh have fun at the bridal shower!!
DeleteI so get the weight thing. I have gained 6 pounds on my pre-pregnancy weight since my last pregnancy, but I look and feel like I'm in the best shape of my life! So weird.
ReplyDeleteIt is weird and unexplained, but I guess I will take it.
