Friday Favorites and Happenings

Happy Friday! I can't believe we are half way through December and have about two weeks left of the year. Time flew these last couple of months. I wanted to share a few gift ideas and things that will help you have that perfect Christmas Day.

Onto Friday Favorites and Happenings.

ONE. I don't know if you have ever had Pizzelle cookies, but they are amazing. My grandmother and great grandmother would make them every holiday season. I would eat so many of them. Unfortunately, I didn't have the pizzelle maker. I am actually not sure who got it after my grandma passed away. BUT if I can ever get that one, I will take it in a heartbeat.

In the meantime, I bought one from Dash. I seriously have three, now four different makers from them. A popcorn maker, a mini waffle maker, a second themed waffle maker and a pizzelle maker. Buying this pizzelle maker means you can only make one at a time, but I don't care as I don't have the space for a 2 to 4 maker. And I really want my grandma's in the future (if that can ever happen).

So if you want one, this one is only $12.99 and it gets amazing reviews on Amazon, Target and Williams Sonoma.

And if you don't have a recipe, here is the one I followed this holiday season.

TWO. This next item would make a great stocking stuffer for yourself or any makeup lover in your life. I travel a lot and when I travel, I wrap Kleenex around my foundation brush, my eyeshadow brush and my blush/bronzer brush. But then I saw this little holder for my brushes and knew I had to have it. So I purchased it and I am putting it in my stocking from Santa.

Right now it has a $2 off coupon and all colors will be here before Christmas except the pink. I got it in brown.

THREE. I am always looking for new shows to watch and love when others make recommendations, so I thought I would share a show that we have been loving lately. It is called, The Mosquito Coast. It is on Apple TV which we recently got for 3 months for free due to me getting a new iphone 14 pro max (back in October), but not activating it until recently. We binged Severance very quickly (and can't wait for another season), and then moved onto The Mosquito Coast.

The cast is great, the show is amazing and we are binging through it very quickly.

FOUR. Speaking of updates, I have one for you. Monday night I was watching the show, The Mosquito Coast and I felt something in my nose. I tried to get it out with my nail, but I could only feel something. So I tried to blow my nose and it came to the tip of my nostril, but I couldn't get it out, so I blew again, and out popped this.

Silicone Nasal Septal Button

Silicone Nasal Septal Button

What is that? A Silicone Nasal Septal Button. The one that I had put in back in September 2019. One that wasn't supposed to come out. But now that it has, I should have seen the warning signs....bloody noses, multiple sinus infections and my right nostril is collapsing in again.

I called my doctor on Tuesday morning and asked what I should do. They told me that I needed to use an antibiotic ointment to prevent infection and to keep it moist. I already had an appointment for Wednesday the 21st, so I am keeping that and finding out my options. But it isn't looking great. Ugh. Send some positive thoughts my way.

FIVE. Weekly funnies.

Have a great weekend. I am linking up with A Little Bit of Everything.

  6. Oh no! That’s not a fun way to start the holiday. Sending you positive thoughts and vibes your way for sure. My hubby also has issues with his nose collapsing and his surgery also wasn’t super. It’s back to collapsing as well. On a different note, I have never made a pizelle cookie before but how beautiful! Like I saw your photos and thought, that’s so cute! And The Mosquito Coast sounds like an interesting show. The title alone is interesting! I hope your weekend is off to a great start!

    1. Oh really? What is your husband doing for that now? I am seeking a second opinion now. I hope you try them. The recipe was a hit and we all loved them. The tv show is based off a book and a movie. It has been great.

  8. I've never even heard of a Silicone Nasal Septal Button, but none of that sounds good!! I hope the doctors are able to address the issue! (Speaking of doctors, I just had my physical, a dentist appt, and my covid booster this week, so I feel like I've taken myself for the equivalent of a car inspection lol!) The 2022 audacity meme got me good.

    1. I hadn't either until I got one. Now I am seeking a second opinion and the whole thing just sucks. Haha, that is funny. It does feel like a whole car inspection when you see all the doctors.

  9. My grandmother made Pizzelle every year as well. My mom got her maker and it died last year :( :( My mom bought a new one and she is actually bringing me and Zoe a batch of Pizzelles tonight! Zoe is OBSESSED with them and is more excited about them than her presents she will be bringing.

  10. I've never had a Pizzelle cookie, but they look amazing! I'm tempted to buy one of those Pizzelle makers. I just love those Dash waffle makers that I have!
