Has anyone else felt like they are falling behind? I know I have felt that way. I am behind on blog reading. I am behind on household chores. I am behind on my reading. And I am just behind. Hopefully things level out soon.
Anyways, onto this month's What's Up Wednesday...
WHAT WE ARE EATING THIS WEEK...
Sunday: We went out to sushi for Father's Day.
Monday: BLTA's with fries.
Tuesday: Coconut Lime Veggies with Brown Rice
Wednesday: Homemade pizza and salad.
Thursday: Sweet potato nachos
Friday: Take out because I am getting my hair done in the evening.
Saturday: I am going out to dinner with a friend that I haven't seen since last year. Rory and the girls will have take-out or something like grilled sausages at home.
WHAT I'M REMINISCING ABOUT... Vacations past. Seeing my friends more.
WHAT I'M LOVING... We went to the beach for the first time this year last weekend and it was just what my soul needed.
WHAT WE'VE BEEN UP TO...I am pretty much doing the same thing I have the last three, almost four months. We have been going on walks, getting outdoors, working from home, cooking a lot, and seeing friends and family a little bit.
The girls went back to school on June 1st and they have been loving it.
We also went to Graeagle at the beginning of this month.
We celebrated Father's Day.
And we went to the beach for the first time all year. We have been up to Tahoe several times, but we haven't been to the beach nor in the water until last weekend. It was really cold, but so worth it!
WHAT I'M DREADING... I am sort of dreading going back into work. We have been out for so long that I am so used to working from home and living this life now. It will definitely be an adjustment and I am sure Walter won't be that thrilled.
WHAT I'M WORKING ON... Well, I recently starting running again. I am not sure how often I will run, but I know that I want to try to do it a little more. I started off with just running about 100 yards and then have been working my way up from there. I am only at 3 mile runs at a time, but it feels good to get back out there.
I am also trying to get ahead on my blog posts, so I can enjoy Summer a bit more.
WHAT I'M EXCITED ABOUT... Rory starting his new job as a mortgage loan originator. It is officially Summer. And things are slowly getting back to normal.
WHAT I'M WATCHING/READING... Once again, I read a bunch of book this last month. That post is coming on Monday, so stay tuned.
We have been watching Schitt's Creek, 13 Reasons Why season 4 (is anyone else watching it? This season is weird.), Top Chef, Million Dollar Listing LA, Dirty John season 2, The Bold Type and a few others. We need some show recommendations, so please send them my way.
Speaking of Schitt's Creek, I bought a Rose Apothecary Shirt on Etsy and I had to share it. If you love Schitt's Creek, then you know.
WHAT I'M LISTENING TO... silence.
WHAT I'M WEARING... I have been living in shorts, sandals, my converse and dresses. It will definitely be weird when I do go back into the office and I have to wear business casual attire. Here are some of my recent favorites.
WHAT I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH... July doesn't bring anything unusual, but I am looking forward to more beach days and more friend time.
WHAT ELSE IS NEW...Not much
It is definitely going to be a rude awakening getting back into work clothes. Although I have moved onto regular clothes and not just comfy ones, it's been a hot minute since I have had dress pants and heels on, haha!
ReplyDeleteI am wearing more regular clothes too. Lots of shorts with cute tops. But dress pants are a whole different story.
DeleteWe went to the beach last weekend as well and I was happy that everyone was staying pretty distant from other people! I was telling my husband yesterday I dont know if I want to go into work again - it's nice being home and cooking at a normal hour for every meal LOL! xo, Biana BlovedBoston
ReplyDeleteYes it is. I love that part too. We don't have to eat so late. I love how everyone has keeping their distance. It definitely helps.
DeleteSo happy Rory got that new job! And I hear you girl, totally feel like I’m falling behind and I just need to let it go, LOL! I hope you have a beautiful day!
ReplyDeleteThank you. I am so glad that someone else is on my page right now (in life). I need to let things go for sure.
DeleteLove the water pictures! I started running again too but I'm only up to like a 6 minute jog and it is awful.
ReplyDeleteIt is sooo awful (running in general), but we will both get better. It takes practice and it is sooo tough.
DeleteI'm right there with ya on being behind! My goodness, I feel like the blog has been taking a huge back seat. I've been getting content up, but I feel like it's not my best work (read: tons of typos) and I haven't done any behind-the-scenes housekeeping for the blog in months either. It's awful. We'll get it together eventually, though!
ReplyDeleteYes we will. Times are tough and I think our priorities are changing. I find typos or links that don't work often. Ugh.
DeleteYour menu for this week sounds amazing! We went to the beach last weekend as well. And just like you, it was good for my soul! How far is the beach from you guys? The closest one to us is 4 hours. I wish companies would just allow people to work from home. I mean, if it’s been successful since March, why change it now? This will be my 8th year at home and I just love it. I want to start Schitt’s Creek! I keep hearing how good it is.
ReplyDeleteOur beach is about an hour away. Oh wow. 4 hours. That is crazy. I wish my company would let us work from home from now on or maybe come in a day or two a week, but not full time in the office. Schitt's Creek is amazing. You will love it!
DeleteOooooh I love those chambray shorts. Maybe I'll treat myself! Also, YAY to beach days. I swear that's one of the biggest things we look forward to beyond hiking right now. It just feels good to find places (even if they're local) to go and explore and relax, you know?
ReplyDeleteAlso, I LOVE Schitts Creek! We're binging Somebody Feed Phil season 3, then we'll rewatch Schitts again haha
You totally should. They are amazing. I totally get that. We just love being outdoors and the beach is our favorite. We get to explore, relax and be outside!!! I have never heard of Somebody Feed Phil. I will look into it. Thanks for the suggestion!
DeleteThose beach/ water pictures look so inviting! We have a pretty quiet weekend at home planned too.
ReplyDeleteThey definitely are inviting!
DeleteI can warn everyone ow - when I have to go back in the office, which it looks like is week after next, I'm going to be grumpy every single day.
ReplyDeleteReally, that soon? I can't believe that. I would be grumpy too!
DeleteCongrats to Rory on his new career! I cant even think about going back to the office. I am hoping that we will have some sort of normal WFH in the future, maybe only going into the office a few days a week or something. That would be nice. It has been too long since I have had sushi or poke bowls or anything of the sorts!!!! I need some soon!
ReplyDeleteThat is what I am hoping for as well. I don't ever want to go back in there full time. I like the idea of the mixing of it. But we will see what they come up with. Oh yes, you should get take out if you can. We did that quite a few times for sushi.
DeleteHave a great weekend. Love your menu and outfits.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!
DeleteI've been feeling really behind lately too -- on everything. It sucks. Here's hoping we both feel caught up soon.
ReplyDeleteThose water pictures are gorgeous!
