Friday Favorites

We survived week 7 of quarantine. And yesterday our stay-at-home order just got extended to mid-May. Complete bs. Our state is ready to slowly start opening. I have a friend who works in the testing facilities for Covid-19 here in Nevada and she said the rates are going down and more people are being tested. That is what the governor said needed to happen to reopen by May 4th (almost 2 weeks since his last announcement). But noooooo, he is going to drag this on. And we have high temperatures around here, so more people are outside and I feel like they are going to stop listening to what he has to say. Ugh.

I am looking forward to it being the weekend and maybe getting back up to Tahoe for a hike and another T's Mesquite picnic.

Anyways, onto Friday Favorites and Happenings and more happy things.

ONE. I was browsing online for a new pair of sandals or flip-flops since I have been living in them the last week or two and needed an upgrade. I wanted the OluKai Upena sandals, but $89.95 is just a bit high right now. Maybe for Mother's Day? Hint, hint.

Anyways, I did find a killer deal on some Steve Madden sandals which I got for $28, normally $62. I had a few pairs of SM sandals in the past and loved them. These are already very comfy sandals.

TWO. About 2 weeks ago, Target was having a sale on their dresses with 30% off. I bought a dress from there that is tie dye blue and it is really pretty, comfy and perfect for Summer. I have worn it twice already. And Target is doing another 30% off dresses sale (ends tomorrow night), so you can grab this dress for $14. I am getting the pink tie dye one too!

THREE. So if you remember my Summery Cocktail recipe, then you know that I didn't have a muddler. I seriously searched my house as I thought we had one, but we did not. So I went online to Amazon and bought one. This one works really well and cleans easily.

FOUR. Another item that I grabbed recently was a salad dressing shaker. I used to have one of the glass bottles with a plastic white top and I have no idea where it went. I am not even sure it lasted through our kitchen remodel a few years ago. I was using a mason jar as my salad dressing maker than then I lost the top piece. I guess the moral of the story here is: I keep losing kitchen items. Ha. Anyways, my mother-in-law uses this salad dressing shaker and it works so well. So I grabbed one for myself.

FIVE. Last weekend we got to meet my littlest cousin. My cousin had her little guy the week I was in North Carolina (right before this pandemic went crazy). We have been anxiously awaiting to meet him. We get daily photos and videos of him, but last weekend, we made some plans to come and visit him for the first time. Plus we brought his parents some lunch. Don't worry, we all kept our distance, but just had to meet this little guy. The girls were enamored with him and definitely want a brother or sister again. Ha.

I am linking up with A Little Bit of Everything and Becky.

Have a great weekend!

  1. Aww what a cutie! It’s so tough for the new moms because I know they want to share the joy of their new little ones. I’m hoping to meet my best friend’s twins on a walk next week. My mom and grandma always used those salad dressing shakers with the white top! Maybe the green top is the new 2020 trend lol!

  3. Oh we need that muddler - if only to pretend we're drinking cocktails somewhere!! Unfortunately I think these stay at home orders for a lot of states got lifted too early, but hopefully people are diligent themselves! xo, Biana BlovedBoston

    1. Oh I agree since numbers have gone up. I just think certain states can do it and others really do need to wait it out. I have used that muddler a lot recently!

  4. Such a good deal on the shoes you grabbed! I ordered a dress when they were doing 30% off too! Alabama has gotten a little looser on restrictions letting retail open at 50% capacity starting today. Our cases keep climbing, so i am not sure that was a good call here. I still dont plan on going anywhere yet.

  7. I love Steve Madden sandals. They’re my favorite second to my yoga mat sandal by Sanuk, which are so comfy! Haha, love that the kids want another baby. Gotta love Target sales!

    1. Oh I love that yoga mat sandal too. I have 3 pairs. Ha. Target sales are the best. I don't feel bad spending $14 on a dress.

  10. It's great you were able to travel and meet your cousin :) here you are only allowed 2 visitors at any time, but some of the rules are relaxed so that we can travel further and go have picnics (before you had to be moving in a park for walking or exercising), and they are talking about relaxing the restrictions more which is good as our numbers are so low, much lower than the US.

Hope you are having a lovely weekend :)

    1. Well, we had to go to their house and it is 10 minutes away from my house. We just have to distance when we are around others. 6 feet away, but my girls didn't do that with their cousin. They haven't been out other than that though. We have really low numbers too. I just hope we relax restrictions safely. I hope you had a good weekend!

  11. Those Steve Madden sandals are soooo cute! I've always loved SM! My favorite pair of shoes EVER was a pair of wicker-looking Steve Madden wedges that I got when I was 18 or 19! I don't usually spend a lot on shoes, but I HAD to have those. They were near $100 and worth every single penny. I saved up my movie theater paychecks until I could buy them. I loved those shoes and I wish I'd saved them because they'd totally be in style again! Haha.

    1. I have always loved his shoes too. I saw the dupes you got and tried to get them from Amazon from your link but they were sold out or not available. Those are sooo cute too. I love a good sale on SM shoes. I try not to spend too much on shoes either. But occasionally I do and hope they last forever. i had no idea that you worked in a movie theater. Or maybe I did and forgot. So cool.
