Wednesday Thoughts

Since tomorrow is our monthly link up for Girl Chat (What would you do with a million dollars?), I thought I would write some thoughts and confessions today.

THOUGHTS/CONFESSIONS...

- I get soooo excited every year about ALL the things on Amazon prime day and then everything I want isn't on sale. I wanted a new tv, a certain pool float, a beach wagon, some Sam Edelman sneakers and the list goes on. The one thing I did want that we did get, the Amazon Echo. Welcome to our family Alexa.

- Speaking of sales, the Nordstrom sale starts tomorrow for card holders and again I want to buy all the things, but from the catalog that Nordstrom posted, it is all the most expensive things. I need a new pair of black flats, some dress slacks and other things for work. Am I the only one who buys clothes for fun and rarely buys things to wear to work? I need a overhaul for my work wardrobe.

- A few weeks ago Sarah, posted about a new workout she was doing and I was intrigued. I watched the videos she recommended and started said workout. Since I run all the time and get bored of it, I thought this change would be fun and so far it is. Basically, you walk at a really steep incline (at least 13% - 15%) with a 3.2 speed for at least 30 minutes.

I am on my second week of it and it is killer. I really didn't think you could burn that many calories walking up a constant hill. But I burn more calories in the 40 minutes of walking up the steep hill than I do with running. Plus my joints feel better.

- This blogging slump is so real.

- I tripped over my own shoe yesterday while walking into the coffee shop. Not only did I lose said shoe, but I landed on my foot and knee. I wasn't even embarrassed. I cared more about my Kate Spade purse getting scratched. #priorities

- I finally decided on a dress for the wedding. I am going with this beauty from Lulus. I tried it on and wow. It fits beautifully. It is flowy and the material is perfect. Plus it will pair well with these shoes that Lizzie recommended a few weeks ago (that I just had to buy).

- I taught Sutton how to raise her eyebrows up and down over and over again and I get the biggest kick out of it when she does it. She thinks it is a game and does it all time. I need to get it on video.

- I finally made it to over 1,000 IG followers. That took a long time and a lot of effort. I want real legit followers and not spam accounts. It is a lot of work, but I am proud of it. Now onto the next goal.

  8. I feel like I'm in a bit of a blog slump, too. Not to mention trying to find the time to write--much less read AND comment on blogs. Eep!
    Love that dress!

  10. Your wedding outfit is going to look amazing! Ugh, I always care about my shoes or something else getting scrapped up if I trip, never about me lol. I'm usually in a blogging slump but then again we do so much over the summer that I feel like I want to share it all. For me, it's the time factor of putting it all together. There just aren't enough hours in a day :/ Beautifully Candid

  12. I totally hear you about the blogging slump. I just want to be outside during the nice weather. Sadly, summer is so short here, you gotta enjoy it while you can.

  13. Teach me your ways of Instagram. I may not have cute kids, but I do make a lot of food! That dress is gorgeous! I need to revamp work wear too, I am in a slump of what to wear as i feel like it is all so worn.

  15. Let us know how you like Alexa! B almost bought one for us yesterday but he ultimately decided against it. Also, that dress is gorgeous! I really love it and can't wait to see it on you. Finally, congrats on 1K!!!! That's awesome, girl! It IS hard work and oh so frustrating sometimes, though. Since I reached my goal for the year already I pretty much gave up on it for a while. I got burned out.

  16. That dress is perfect for a wedding - I want it! I agree with you about the Prime Day deals being disappointing. All the things I was wanting were not on sale. I wanted a new tv too. Big let down from past years!!

  17. Love love love that dress! We have the Echo Dot & it's kind of creepy how sometimes it lights up randomly & starts talking, haha. I think I need to try this incline walking too... sounds like a leg burner!

  18. I love our Echo. We have had it for over a year now (I think???) and our whole house is connected to it. Alexa turns our TV off and on, all our lights in the main living areas, tells us the weather every morning, plays music while I cook. Dont know what we would do without her! Checking out the work out, I need to switch it up. Or more like get started back. haha

  19. The Nordstrom sale isn't awesome this year, but I always manage to find things I like! And congrats on 1K IG followers. It took me so long to hit my first thousand too. But like you said, I wanted genuine followers. I don't participate in pods or loop giveaways, but still my following has grown!
