But in the meantime, my Friday finds, favorites and happenings are below.
One. So I am probably the last person to buy a cast iron skillet, but we finally did. And I am loving it so far. We made our "adult" grilled cheeses on it last night and they had the best crispiness to them. I have avoided recipes that use a cast iron since I didn't have one, but now I can't wait to try more out. Any that you all recommend?
Two. I am half way through The Good Girl and I am really liking it so far. Emelia from Dream Big and Buy the Shoes also recommended a few books (You by Caroline Kepnes, Pretty Baby by Mary Kubica and No One Knows by J.T. Ellison) that are now on my Amazon wish list too. And you best bet I will be reading these. My book list is becoming very long and I LOVE it.
Three. I wanted to say congrats to my dear blogging friend, Jess (The Newly) on her newest addition to their family! Baby number three is such a blessing and so very cute!
Four. My celebration dinner on Wednesday was soooo very good. The food never disappoints, the wine was flowing and I had the best company. We were able talk for hours and celebrate something that was long overdue.

We brought our own bottle from a winery we visited in Graeagle, CA. Only 60 cases were made.
Yours truly
My handsome husband
Five. When I returned my denim shorts to Loft, I found the most amazing pants. Enter the Sanded Sateen Chinos. They are so soft, flattering and comfy. I bought them in the dark grey color, but I would love the plum color for Fall. Seriously, you need these in your life.
I am wearing these pants with the shirt above in the celebration dinner photo.
I hope you have a great weekend! See you Monday.

We love our cast iron skillet!
ReplyDeleteSo, I'm so confused. You can bring your own bottle of wine to a restaurant? Did I read that correctly?
Cast iron skillets are awesome and I don't use ours enough. Ha ha! Yay for your special dinner. Sounds like a great time.
ReplyDeleteI should invest in a cast iron skillet. The only thing that I think intimidated me was "seasoning" them and cleaning them properly
ReplyDeleteI was intimated too, but the seasoning is super easy. It does smell since you put a thin coat of olive oil in it and bake it essentially, but so worth it. Cleaning it is super easy. Sturdy brush with warm water and that is it.
DeleteThe Good Girl was a good book! Are you on Good Reads?
ReplyDeleteNope, you're not the last person, we don't own a cast iron yet!! But I just added that one to my amazon cart, so thanks!
ReplyDeleteThose pants look so nice!
I second Good Girl... Gone Girl, Girl on the Train, Luckiest Girl in the Room... basically anything with "Girl" in the title, lol. I always make our steaks in our cast iron skillet. Just get it REALLY hot with lots of melted butter, sear both sides and then pop in the oven until your liking.
ReplyDeleteI have not read Good Girl, but it is on my list. Also, those loft pants look so cute. Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteIt was on mine and I am really enjoying it so far. Have a good weekend!
DeleteMy cast iron skillet is one of my most prized possessions. I cook almost everything in it. Put a dab of bacon grease on there and saute up some veggies and you will be in heaven! Adult grilled cheese sounds like heaven too. I need to head into Loft and try those pants. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteLove a cast iron skillet. We take one with us when going camping and everything turns out so yummy.
ReplyDeleteI must try those chinos from The Loft! "You" was so good, I am now reading the sequel, "Hidden Bodies." My. Favorite things to make in my cast iron skillet are a meatloaf and a a sausage and potato medley, love love love my skillet! Have a Most wonderful weekend beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThey are the best!!! Oh I can't wait to read You now and the sequel. Is it as good as the first? Oh do you have a recipe for the meatloaf and sausage and potato medley? Have a great weekend too!
DeleteGlad the celebration dinner was delicious - enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteI don't have a cast iron skillet either. I've had one in my amazon wishlist for at least a year now, but I just keeping wondering if I REALLY need it. I may have to just take the plunge.
ReplyDeleteHave a good weekend!
Aww, love your night out. So special! We started No One Knows on audio books during our trips, but still haven't finished it, haha. I want to get it for our trip on Monday, but it's checked out right now at the library...boo. And, yay for Jess's new little boy. So sweet. Happy weekend lovely!
ReplyDeleteI read The Good Girl and enjoyed it and I'm currently super close to finishing Pretty Baby! Her other book, Don't You Cry is on my hold list at the library too! I've been craving a grilled cheese for a few days now and I think you just pushed my craving over the edge! I need to make one this weekend.
