Confessional Thursday

Today is one of my favorite post days, Confessional Thursday. A day where I can bitch and moan and confess. Something we all need to do now and again.

Wanna join in on the fun? Grab the button below, write about your confessions and head over to Jess' blog, The Newly and link up. Super easy.

I confess that I am super excited to eat ALL the avocado I can get my hands on in the next week. Bring on the guac!

I confess that I should have been packing Tuesday night, but I went to girls night instead. My girlfriend opened her house to us (she recently moved in) where we played Fibbage (so much fun), drank wine and had tri-tip tacos. Much needed for my soul.

I confess that my sweet husband let me go to girls night instead of him going to the minor league baseball game (in the box seats) and I am so grateful. Beyond grateful. Sometimes a mama needs her friends and a good confess sesh with them. So thank you babe.

I confess that prepping for a consignment sale doesn't seem worth it, but I really hope it brings in the cash. I spent all weekend and part of this week hanging, tagging, pricing and prepping a few bags of the girls clothes. I barely touched the winter stuff. That will have to wait for the next one.

I confess that I am getting nervous to fly with the girls. I really hope they are happy, sweet and sleepy babies on our long fight because I don't want to be THOSE parents that everyone gives the stink eye too.

I confess that I won't miss work at all this next week. I can't wait to have my toes in the sand, a margarita in hand and sunshine shining down on me.

I confess that I hated spending over an hour on the phone with United Airlines because they bumped me from my seat on one of our flights (SF to PV). First, the lady changed me to an exit row which I can't be in due to having Sutton on my lap. The second lady moved us into Economy Plus right behind each other. It sucks that we won't be sitting across from each other, but it is better than the regular economy seats we had before. Our first flight seats were changed as well, but it is a short 30 minute flight. Let's hope the rest of our seats stay the same and everything goes smoothly.

  1. What a great hubby you have! I'm so glad you got a girls night and had such a great time. The girls are going to do great on the flights. Annoying about the seats, but at least that means the girls can play peek a boo, which will keep them entertained. :)

    1. I know, right? I needed it. I am hoping you are right about flying with the girls. I spent hours last night packing and still have so much left to do after work today. Ugh.

  2. Husband for the Win! So sweet of him. Girls nights are good for the soul! Flying stresses me out. We are trying to book tickets for this summer and I can't pull the trigger because I'm so anxious about flying with 2 littles this year. One was hard enough! Your girls will do great. I bet they end up sleeping most of the way. The plane always puts Jack to sleep.

    1. I am great with flying because I do it often for work, but I haven't flown with the girls yet. That is what stresses me out. I really do hope they sleep the whole way or at least most of it. Then we can have some peace and quiet. Us and the whole plane.

  3. Yay Rory! What a hubby!

Okay, I haven't flown in 6.5 years. Why can they just change your seat?

    1. I know. He was pretty awesome about that.

I don't know how they could just change my seat. I am a rewards member and I have a flight to Israel in business class the following week. I pay a lot of money to this airline and they just up and changed me. I am monitoring my other flights to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  4. #1 your husband is a peach.
#2 I'm insanely jealous that you'll be in Mexico in a week. It's my favorite place to vacation EVER!
#3 I saw this article and thought of you. http://www.twocametrue.com/a-comprehensive-guide-to-prepare-you-for-traveling-with-twins-infants/
#4 We've done 3 flights with our kids and they've all been pretty seamless. Just remember if they scream the entire flight...you'll never have to see these people again :).

Good luck and have a great time!

    1. Yes he is! You should book a trip to Mexico. The dollar is really strong there right now. 1 US $ to 17.88 Pesos. Amazing. Thank you for sending me that link. I can't thank you enough. I need all the advice I can get. Haha, and I love #4. So true.

      Thank you!

  8. Rory is certainly a keeper! So sweet of him to skip the game so you could do girls' night! If your girls cry on the flight, it is what it is. Don't worry, ignore any looks or comments, and just do the best you can. Mila freaked out on our flight home from FL and we got lots of looks (and one rude comment). I wanted to jump out of my seat and strangle the kid who made a comment, but I decided to ignore him. Have so much fun on vacation!!!

    1. It meant the world to me that he did that. I needed it. I really hope they are well behaved, but if they cry, we will just deal with it. Hopefully we are sitting next to nice people. As of yesterday, we were both in rows with no one else in them. So maybe someone takes the window and we have the centers on each row and that will help. I would have wanted to strangle the kid too. Not fair.

  11. I am TERRIFIED to fly with my kids, and haven't yet... and they are 4 and almost 2!!! And I'm still like "maybe when they are 12 and 10 and I can make sure they won't fuss and we won't get yelled at by cranky passengers for having little kids with us"... so you are braver than me!!!

    1. Those are my exact fears. I am hoping they are good and we are giving them children's benadryl (recommended by the girls pediatrician) to help with the flight. I fear one of them screaming and getting the death stares. I shudder thinking about it because I was one of those people back in the day. It feels like karma, ha.

  13. What a great hubby you have!! That was so sweet of him. And yes, girl time is soooo important!

And prayers for you that the girls behave on the plane. My cousin has a boy and a girl, both under 4 and they've been flying with both of them since they were newborns. They live in NYC but fly down here to GA for the summer and for Christmas every year and they also fly out to LA often because that's where her brother lives. Shoot, their kids have probably flown more than I have by now. Haha. But anyway, she said that they always do really well because she's always very careful to keep enough stuff to keep them busy/well fed. You guys will rock it!

    1. It was very sweet of him. He earned a lot of points!

I want my girls to be well traveled as well. And I have read a lot of blogs and tips/tricks for flying with toddlers. I have a huge bag of snacks packed for the girls, I got some new toys, I am going to load some shows on my iPad and a few other things and hope for the best. Please oh please let them fly well!

  14. So glad you got a much needed girls night! That is absolutely frustrating about the flight seat changes. Ugh! I'm sure your girls will be so good on the flights. They are such little sweeties, and people get that babies are babies (at least they should)! I'm just so excited to hear all about your trip.

  16. I am sure the flight will be great! And boo to the people who get annoyed... I don't have any babies but I always sympathize with the mom and dad AND baby when they are upset on the flight! Good luck :)
