Happy Friday all! We survived another week. Meaning I survived another week of healing. We had a fun BBQ Sunday for the 4th with some of our friends. Monday we spent the day in Graeagle. The girls stayed out there all week and we came out later in the week to have a few extra days in our favorite place.
Anyways, onto Friday favorites and Happenings.
ONE. I have mentioned about ten to a hundred times that I have a wedding next month. I have purchased a few dresses and none of them worked out. Then we got the actual invitation while we were in Graeagle (first trip in June) that said black tie. So then the hunt was on again. I narrowed it down to three dresses from Lulus and then a week or so later, they had a sale with 20% off. So I snagged two dresses and decided on one of them. And let me tell you that it is so hard to try on dresses post surgery, but when they only give you 30 days from delivery to being back in their hands, you try on the dress.
I got this dress which I will be able to wear to other events since it is black and I can change up the accessories with it each time. Also, I had mentioned that I used Rent the Runway and loved it. Well I did search the site for the wedding dates and there was nothing Summery or even remotely what I wanted. My mother in law did the same and she didn't like anything either. So I guess it is hit or miss.
I got this in a medium because I was worried about my post op body and it not fitting. The good news is everyone who ordered small and mediums said they could fit in either as this is made from a stretchy material. And it is. So even with swelling going down, it will still fit beautifully. Also, I am 5'9" and this dress is long. I can wear 3 to 4 inch heels and this is the perfect length on me.
TWO. Another item that I purchased and hoped would be here before we headed back to Graeagle (spoiler it didn't arrive in time) was the Andie swimsuit Mykonos. I have been searching for a one piece swimsuit that I still felt beautiful in, had coverage and was good for my post op body as I am still very swollen and bloated looking. No, I can't go in a pool or the lake or anything fun, but I wanted it for laying out while my family does go in the lakes and pools.
But I can't wait to rock this very soon. I got a size small long.
THREE. When we were out in Graeagle in June, my sister-in-law brought a little to-go cooler which I absolutely loved. It has a hard body inside, a tray that goes up top for items you don't want to get wet, has no zippers up top, has a built in bottle opener and a bungie top for things like Pringles (my SIL said that is where she stores her chips).
I ordered one recently for our beach trips.
FOUR. Weekly funnies.
Have a great weekend. I am linking up with A Little Bit of Everything.

It is stretchy so it fits very well and hides all the lumps and bumps.
DeleteI'm sure you'll look great in the dress and bathing suit!
ReplyDeleteThank you. I wore the suit (not in the water) and it was pretty awesome, but a little low cut for me. But I will definitely wear it again.
DeleteThat swimsuit is so cute! I recently changed jobs and should have resigned with a sympathy card. LOL! Have a great weekend!

That would have been amazing. Where did you go?
DeleteGreat funnies. Love the dress. Continued healing to you. Regine

Thank you so much! The dress is a favorite!
DeleteThat dress is gorgeous!! And that is hilarious that you shared that Yahoo meme, too! I just saved that same one the other day to share on the blog and I was tripping out because it is the absolute truest thing ever. Aaaallll of my stupid crap goes straight to Yahoo, and I get zero junk at my Gmail because I like to keep it crisp for real. So funny!
ReplyDeleteGreat minds think alike. Ha. I love the dress. I got it on sale and can wear it to many events. I hate buying dresses that I can only wear once to every couple events. I have some sneak through on my Gmail, but I try to push it all to Yahoo. Ha.
DeleteThat dress looks fabulous!!
ReplyDeleteThat black dress is stunning! Why is it always so hard to find a dress to wear to a wedding, though? UGH. That last meme really gets me, haha. Hope you're having a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThank you. I really like it. It is thicker so it hides any lumps and bumps and it is stretchy so that helps too. It is sooo hard to find a dress to a wedding. Especially a black tie one in August. Ugh. I love that meme too. I hope you had a great weekend!
DeleteLOLOLOL that sympathy card! What an epic way to go. Love the dress that you chose, definitely a classic that can be worn many ways.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could send that card at times. Ha. It would be an epic way to go. I love that it is classic as well and can be worn many times.
DeleteI really like that dress, especially the back.
ReplyDeleteMe too. It is BEAUTIFUL!
