Friday Favorites and Happenings

Happy Friday all! I feel like this week flew by and I didn't realize that today was Friday. We have been incredibly busy all week. Between softball practices, a big report being due at work and other events we have attended, I lost track of time. That is why I never got a post out on Wednesday. Wednesday morning came and I swore it was Tuesday.

Anyways, onto Friday favorites and Happenings.

ONE. This week I did have time to shop the Sephora sale. I put in an order to pick it up at my local Sephora store and then I put one in that will be sent to me. Since I am a VIB member, I could shop on Tuesday. I got everything I wanted and still have some items I am considering. Insiders could shop starting yesterday. You just enter in the code SAVESPRING to save.

Here is what I grabbed this week.

Olaplex No 4

This shampoo has been recommended by a lot of people. I have never used it, but recently my salon started carrying it. I figured if it is good enough for the salon, then my hairstylist would recommend it. And she did. So I am trying it out.

Olaplex No 5

I obviously had to get the conditioner to go with it.

Olaplex No 3

And then Nadine recommended this to go with the set. Even though I had already checked out, I made another pick up order and it was ready at the same time. I used all three products yesterday for the first time and so far I liked them. They didn't weigh my hair down, make it greasy or feel like product was left in there.

TWO. I also got my tried and true Kerastase. Even if I LOVE Olaplex, I still like to change up my shampoo and conditioner every other time. It gives my hair a break and makes it so my hair doesn't get used to a product and then it not work well. Plus when you can save on Kerastase, you save on it!

THREE. What else did I grab? I grabbed my favorite setting powder. I bought a full size and got a mini from Nordstrom many months ago and I have about a quarter to a third of the mini left. So I bought this now, so I don't run out.

It is my favorite setting powder...heck even setting makeup. I have tried Urban Decay's setting spray, Bare Minerals setting powder, Tarte's setting powder and a few others and nothing compares.

The Laura Mercier Setting Powder sets my makeup, takes away any oily look after wearing my make up all day and needing a touch up at night, and helps set my concealer before I put on my foundation. I love this stuff.

I also got the Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo. Now I got a travel/mini size a few years ago from Sephora using points. I used it on a couple work trips and I loved it, but didn't use dry shampoo that much when I got it. But now that I use it more often, I wanted to get it again. And now it come in a jumbo size, 7.3 ounces. It smells nice and does the job. As I use it more, I will have a better review of it. But from what I remember about it, I liked it!

And last but not least, I got another foundation. I LOVE this color and it matches my skin so much better than the 2.5N. I feel like I can only wear that at the height of Summer otherwise it is too yellow/tan.

This has been my favorite foundation for years. I just changed the color up. It is full coverage. It goes on smoothly, covers up any blemishes, evens the tones out in your face, doesn't feel cakey at all and a little goes a long way.

FOUR. Lastly, I thought I would share an item that is on my wish list and I am considering pulling the trigger, but haven't just yet. I had heard great things about Gucci Flora perfume. I am sooo picky when it comes to perfumes, as I have a sensitive nose, but when I was picking up my order, I put this on a card, and loved it. So then I sprayed it on me figuring I was going to the girls softball photos outside and if I hated it, it would waft away. But I loved it and was so glad that I could still smell it when I went to trivia that evening.

So now do I get the small one, get a bigger one because it is on sale or just wait it out until the next sale?

FIVE. Weekly funnies.

Have a great weekend. I am linking up with A Little Bit of Everything.

  1. Great funnies and great support purchases. Yes I will definitely want to know what you think about the Olaplex. I just don’t know whether or not to try it. That Laura Mercier setting powder it’s been on my list for so long, I need to just get it

    1. So I used it on my own twice and once at the salon on Friday. So far I love it. It smells nice, doesn't weigh down my hair and it strengthens your hair which as someone who dyes their hair blonde, I need that. But I plan to give a full review in a month. That setting powder is the best!

  3. I don't think I have smelled Gucci Flora yet, I will have to check it out. I am picky about scents as well. Glad you are liking Olaplex! Such a good time to stock up right now. Have a great weekend!

    1. I love the Gucci perfume but it is pricey and I don't wear a lot of perfume. I am thinking of getting the rollerball one instead. That way if I love it, I can get a bigger size next time. Yes, thank you so much for the Olaplex #3 recommendation.

  7. Hahahaha. The milk meme is SO true. When I think of commercials from the 90's I totally think of all of the milk ones first. It's so weird that they weren't for a particular brand... just for milk in general.

    1. Me too. They made great milk commercials. It is weird. I never really thought about that. Ha.
