Friday Favorites and Happenings

I can't believe that we are into the final month of the year. The longest and craziest year yet. I never thought we would be here when 2020 first started, but here we are. I am not sure what 2021 holds, but lets hope things calm down, things normalize and 2021 is different than this year (for the better).

Anyways, I was supposed to have surgery yesterday, but with this pandemic, things were postpone. I am devastated to say the least, but I get it. I just want the pain to go away, so hopefully this next month goes ok.

Have you finished your Christmas shopping? I am pretty much done. I had purchased almost everything early since I thought I was having surgery, but now I have the freedom to shop a bit more. Not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing.

Onto Friday Favorites and Happenings.

ONE. Our Thanksgiving looked so differen this year. We had a big gathering with Rory's dads side of the family planned, but with COVID and someone testing positive in our extended family, we opted to not have it this year. At first, it sucked, but it is 2020 and that is how everything goes, right?

We did go over to my in-laws house for some ham, sweet potatoes, salad, rolls and spicy mustard, plus dessert. We also got some family photos in to use on our Christmas card. Nothing like last minute, right?

A little preview from our family photos.

I had purchased a pumpkin pie from a local bakery that we love and we had that Friday after dinner since our plans were so messed up.

TWO. On Friday morning, we headed out on our Christmas tree chop! This is one of my favorite traditions of the holiday season and this year did not disappoint. And we lucked out with no snow, so it was easier to find and haul back our tree. Here is our tree prior to chopping it down.

Perfectly imperfect!

THREE. On Sunday morning our elf joined us a bit early. Since December 1st fell on a Tuesday, we decided to have him come a few days early. And let me tell you, the girls knew he was early. Ha. But I wanted to make sure we could enjoy him for a bit longer and have the girls get to enjoy their gifts a bit longer. If you remember, two weeks ago, I mentioned what our elf, Giuseppe was giving the girls. And here it is all set up.

Our elf even left something for Rory and I.

FOUR. On Wednesday I shared some stocking stuffers for the kids and I thought I would share it again in case you missed it. Stockings are always so difficult for me.

Next week I have a post for stocking stuffer ideas for men and women.

FIVE. Weekly funnies.

That was me all last week.
Guilty.
Pretty much.

I laughed too hard at this.

This is definitely my tree.

I am between a 3 and 4.

Have a great weekend. I am linking up with A Little Bit of Everything.

  1. LOLOLOLOL sleighin or slayin. I cant stop laughing. But also, true story. Also the online shopping is out of hand. So many sales I cant stop myself. Love the Elf set up, so cute! Our elf came a few days early this year as well. The extra magic he brings for Zoe makes me almost as excited as her. She lives for those first few minute every morning when she goes on a search for him.

    1. It is soo true. I totally watch both all the time. I have bought way too much. I have had some of the best sales, but then I just buy buy buy. My girls are the same. Today they had a letter saying they were pretty naughty yesterday and they lost it. I hope they start being nicer as yesterday was tough. I hope it works. They love their elf so much!

    1. We had a pretty good weekend. And even though my surgery was cancelled, I am still looking on the bright side of things. I won't be laid up all December, so I can enjoy the holiday season more.

    1. It is sooo funny!!! I loved it too. Thank you so much for your prayers. I just know that God didn't like this timing and wanted it to be later. I am ok with that too. The family member is on the mend and thankfully we had no contact with them for a few months!
