TBB Asks - Thankful

It's time for another round of The Blended Blog Asks...This month's theme is Things You Are Thankful For.
TBB Things you are thankful for

1. A new friend... I am thankful for making new friends at work. For the longest time, it was me and a bunch of guys or females who were a lot older than me. But this last year, we had two younger girls start and one who is older, but they are my group of friends at work. We go on daily walks and they make work so much more fun.

2. Something shiny... I always go back to my engagement ring and wedding rings. Rory designed my engagement ring with the help of a local jeweler. He even hand picked the main diamond for my ring. Then we had the wedding band made to match my engagement ring. It is my favorite piece of jewelry I have ever received.

3. Someone unexpected... I just can't think of anyone unexpected.

4. Something ordinary... Candles. Especially my candles from Bath and Body Works. I bought two new scents last week, Winter Candy Apple and Let it Snow (twisted peppermint). They both smell heavenly and I got them for less than $10 each. Score on sales. They are still on sale. Go grab one or three.

5. A person you've known a long time... My friend Stacey. She has been going through some things in life and I feel like she has held it together pretty amazingly. I have known Stacey for about 8 years. Even though that isn't a life time, she has become one of my best friends in that time. I am very thankful for my friendship with her.

6. Somewhere you go every day... to pick up my girls from their daycare. We all know that my girls daycare closed in May and we were left to asking our parents to help us out for a few months which they graciously did. Then we started a new daycare. We had researched and decided on this place way before their daycare closed, but were not able to start for almost 3 months. Now almost 3 months in, the girls are loving it. They love their teachers, the director and are learning so much. I am soooo thankful for a place like this where my girls feel at home.

7. Someone who's taught you something... This could be so many people in my life that it is hard to narrow it down to one, but if I had to, it would be my girls. They have taught me so much about myself in the past year, let alone 3 years. I have learned patience, love, nursery songs, happiness, anger management, worrying, faith and so much more. Thank you baby girls for teaching me something new every day.

8. A far-away place...Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. We try to go every year and even though it is only 6 hours by flight, it is still a far enough place to get away, relax and just be happy. No stress...unless your flight is cancelled and you have to be in Israel for work the next day.

9. Something that's saving your life right now... COFFEE. I need it to function every day. Especially with the holidays coming up, work being crazy busy right now and toddlers who are about to turn 3 next month.

10. Someone you see every day... My husband. He keeps me grounded when I get too stressed. He is the person I want to see every day. He gets me. He is ok with my crazy habits (watching way too many girly shows and Hallmark movies).

11. Something you enjoy doing... Working out. I may not like it everyday, but when I am done with a work out, I feel amazing. Not only does it allow me to indulge more, but I feel so much healthier when I have been working out.

12. Someone female... My mom. She is amazing. She has been there through it all and never judges me. I miss my daily phone calls to her. Something I need to get back in the habit of doing.

13. A special place... My parents house. I grew up in the house they currently live in. They have since remodeled it, but I remember all the holidays spent there, the home cooked meals and the school days. My parents gave us a wonderful upbringing and I feel so comforted every time I am in their home. There is no place like home.

14. Someone male... My dad. He is my inspiration. I have always been a daddy's girl. No matter the problem, my dad is always there to help.

15. Something warm... Fresh baked pumpkin cookies. I am really into pumpkin cookies this year and I can't stop making them. I can't wait for my mom's version.

  17. Yes! To coffee, learning from our kiddos, leaning on our husbands and to Puerto Vallarta! ;) Ok, I've only been to Puerto Vallarta once - on our honeymoon, and my hubby came down with strep throat while we were there. I think we should go again!
