Weekending

Another weekend in the books. The weather wasn't that great, but we made the best of it.

Friday after work, I grabbed some lunch and got a much needed pedicure. My toes were ugly and my feet were in desperate need of some attention. After my appointment, I headed to my jeweler to get my rings checked and cleaned. It had been over a year since I last got them checked. I was pregnant with my girls and it was towards the end when I couldn't wear my rings anymore. I also dropped off Rory's ring to get it checked out.

Then I headed home to watch my girls while Rory got a haircut. Things got a little chaotic when it was time to feed the girls their snack because I can't lift them into their highchairs. So I had to put their highchairs (space saver ones) on the ground and look my pup in the kitchen using the baby gates.

With my girls hopped up on snacks, we played until Rory got home.

This is how half my pictures turn out now. They won't sit still and they bum rush the camera now.

After Rory got home, we fed them dinner, played some more and got the girls ready for bed. Once they were down, I finished getting ready and my sister came over to watch the girls (hang out while my ladies slept, thank you Ash!). Rory and I took an Uber down to a new sports bar to surprise my best, Stacey for her 30th birthday.

We watched Nevada lose to San Diego State (basketball), had lots of drinks, good food and amazing company. A bunch of us girls were planning out our girls weekend (this weekend!) too.

We got home around 10 pm (which is late for us parents), hung out with my sister for a bit and then crashed hard.

Saturday we went out to breakfast and then home for a quick nap for the girls. Then we headed back out to the mall for some birthday shopping. Our local Banana Republic is closing, so Rory scored a ton of stuff there. Me, not so much. It seems everyone here is my size.

It was a very windy day, so after we got home, we built a fire and snuggled the rest of the day.
All eyes for her daddy and his snuggles

After we put the girls to bed, I went out to grab us pizza and a movie. We watched The Martian (finally) and we thought it was really good. There were some cheesy parts, but overall we liked it.

Sunday we headed out to breakfast again and then home for some naps. I went grocery shopping and to Babies R Us for a few things (had a coupon). I came home and made the girls Whole Wheat Peaches and Honey Muffins and we built another fire. We spent the rest of the day playing and hanging out by the fire.

While the girls ate dinner, I cooked Rory's and my dinner. Then it was bath time for the girls, followed by their bedtime routine. After the girls were down, we had spaghetti and watched Room. Let me just say wow. I had heard a lot of chatter about this movie, so we had to check it out ourselves. It was a very powerful movie. It was extremely good, but it really gets to you. So very sad, emotional and eye opening. I would recommend it. Definitely watch it.

After the movie, we watched something a lighter and then went to bed. I woke up this morning still thinking about the movie. Have you seen it? What did you think?

How was your weekend?

I am linking up with Biana today.

    1. It is so good. Worth it, but I cried about three times through the movie. So emotional. Hope you have a good week.

  2. Thanks for the movie recommendation. I've been wanting to see Room. Looks like the surprise party was so much fun, and can't wait to hear about your girls' weekend. Hope you guys have some nice weather this week. And, as always, some adorable shots of those beautiful girls ;)

    1. It is so good. Watch it, but have tissues ready. We are having some super strong winds and rain, so hoping it clears before my girls weekend. They are calling for 71 in Auburn, so hopefully that sticks! Have a good week!

    1. So good. I should have read the book first, but I jumped the gun once I saw it in Redbox. Had to watch it. I am still thinking about it today.

I have to take about 15 photos of the same thing in order to get one where the girls are sitting still for me. Haha.

  4. Hahahaha I love those blurry baby pics! Get used to it because it doesn't get much better! I have to take 20 pictures of Jacob and Olivia to get one usable one these days!

    1. That's crazy. I literally delete picture after picture until I find one that is good enough. And sometimes I can never get one, so I settle on the blurry ones.

  5. I need a pedicure...bad! So glad you had me time.

I love how you guys always go out for breakfast. That is one meal that we hardly ever go out to eat for, but we need to start. We love breakfast foods here!

    1. It was worth it. Plus I got to catch up with my nail girl, get a orangish pink color for Mexico and soak my feetsies.

We love breakfast A LOT, but it takes forever to make at home and I hate the clean up, so we usually go out for it. We said we would try to make it at home once a weekend though. But dinner and lunch I love making and trying new recipes. But it is definitely a splurge I love!

  6. all of my photos of Wes are blurry, too. so frustrating sometimes! There are a couple of breakfast spots I STILL want to check out, but I need to eat almost immediately when I wake up, so most of time it has be to be at home. Those muffins look amazingly tasty.

    1. For some reason we love to go out to breakfast. So much easier, but love cooking lunch and dinner at home. And I sent the muffins to daycare with the girls today so we will see how they liked them.

  7. LOL to your girls bum rushing the camera. Even though they're blurry, they're cute pics! Sounds like a fun weekend! Glad you guys were able to get out Saturday night for your friend's birthday!

  8. They bum rush the camera anytime I bring it out. Especially if I am recording them, they will crawl over so fast (and are scaling things to get to me fast too) to get to it. Hope you had a good weekend!
