I am Thankful For
With Thanksgiving around the corner, I thought I would write about some of the things I am thankful for.
The first one is easy. My sweet baby girls. They may have had a rough start (premature birth and the NICU for 4 weeks), but they have brought so much joy and love into our lives. I never knew, only imagined, the love I could have for someone(s). These girls are my everything. They make life so much better. I feel beyond thankful and grateful to be their mom and watch them grow. Baby girls, the last 11 months with you has been nothing short of the best months of my life.
I am thankful for... my husband. He has been my rock this last year. He is the best daddy to our baby girls. He has really stepped up to his daddy role and takes on his fair share of baby duties. He has been my nurse after three surgeries. Including one where he changed my open wound (pulling out the gauze, cleaning the wound, repacking the gauze and bandaging me up) on my chest twice a day for five and a half weeks. My husband is one of a kind and I really won the husband lottery with this one.
I am thankful for... my family (immediate and in-laws). My family has been nothing short of amazing this last year. They have been there through my pregnancy, birth of the girls and through their first year. They have babysat the girls more than we could ever ask anyone else. They have taken care of me after the three surgeries I have had this year. They have showered the girls with love and so many gifts (very spoiled little girls). They have been there through it all and I feel so fortunate that our families live close by and can share everything with us.
I am thankful for... my pup, Walter. Walter is a pretty amazing dog. He puts up with a lot and still loves us unconditionally. The girls are fascinated with him and he puts up with them pulling on his tail, not so gently petting him and he returns their loves with lots of slobbery kisses. He may not get as many walks as he did when he was an only child, but he is my first child. He has a special place in my heart and I love my Roo Dog.
I am thankful for... my and my families health. This year has been full of health scares. From my own three surgeries (traumatic birth, breast abscess and umbilical hernia) to my father-in-laws retina detachment repair, we have had our fair share of health issues this year. But thankfully, everyone is healthy and have made it through this year fairly unscathed.

Weekending
It's Monday, but that is ok because it is almost like it is also Thursday. I am only working two days this week and I couldn't be happier. We have family coming into town this week and lots of fun ahead. I can't wait. In the meantime, we just need my husband to get healthy (he got sick yesterday afternoon) so we can enjoy this holiday time. The first Thanksgiving for our little ladies.
This weekend went by in an instant. Friday after work, we took the girls to our favorite little sandwich shop, Pedaler's Deli. And we even picked up a pint of their pumpkin cheesecake ice cream. Said ice cream didn't make it through the weekend. We ate the entire thing over two days. So good.
After lunch, I headed out to run a bunch of errands. I wanted to get most of the weekly shopping out of the way before the holiday shopping hits an all time high. I picked up dog food and treats, bought a bunch of things to craft for the girls' birthday and somethings for the babies (baby food, diapers, q-tips, etc.). It was a lot.
We ordered take out and stayed in that evening.
Saturday we headed out to breakfast early because we had some games to watch later that day. I also had to go back out to three stores to try to find an adapter so we could connect my laptop to our tv. I have no clue what happened to our old one. The rest of the day was spent at home watching Nevada play Utah State (football) and Nevada play Pacific (basketball). We also headed out to sushi for an early dinner.
Sunday, the grandparents came over to watch the girls, so we could go snowboarding. There isn't a ton of snow, but enough to get a taste of snowboarding again. And it felt so good.
We even got to take a little break for a cocktail.

We still need a lot more snow!
While we were off snowboarding, we got a couple texts with pictures of our girls.

The rest of the day was pretty lazy. I did head out to do some grocery shopping for the week and we made dinner. It was a sit by the fire and watch football the rest of the day, kind of day. And it was awesome.

Brows and Wine
Did this week seem really long to anyone else? No, I guess it is because we have a full week mixed into these partial weeks. Next week, I only work 2 days. Oh, I am so thankful for the 5 days I will get to spend with my family.
One. I went for a run this week. This is huge because I haven't gone on a run in over a year (doctor cut me off last year in October). I told myself to take it easy, but I wanted to get in at least 3 miles. And I got in 3.3 miles. And now I am sore. But it was so worth it. (yes I have been working out the last 5 months, but not running). Many more runs to come.
Two. I have another girls night next week. After work on Tuesday, I get my hair done (much needed), followed by Picasso and Wine with my favorite ladies. This is what we are painting.

Three. Everyone (in the blogging world) has been talking about Anastasia product for your eyebrows. I have thin brows (thanks to having really thick ones as a child and waxing a ton over the years) and use a pencil to help fill them in a bit and darken them up in between eyebrow tints. So what is your favorite? The powder, pencil, pen, gel? And would you recommend a place like Sephora, Ulta or a department store to try it and make sure I am getting the right color?
Four. I am breaking in my season pass to Mt. Rose this weekend! After last weekends storm, cold temperatures and snow making, they opened up another big lift. Sure there is still a lot left to open, but we have a babysitter (grandparents) and a few hours to kill up at the mountain. I can't wait. Hopefully my legs are ready.
Mt. Rose (parts of the right side are open now)
Five. I have started my Cyber Monday list. I never ever partake in Black Friday (I worked it once in high school and it was awful), but enjoy shopping from the comfort of my house or work (sorry) and stocking up on everything that I need to buy this holiday season. We have quite a few things we need to get for the girls plus all of our immediate family. So tell me, have you heard about any Cyber Monday deals? Places? Send them my way please.

Favorite Holiday Treats
I am not a big sweets person. I can pass up desserts most nights when my husband asks if I want ice cream, chocolates, etc. I would rather have a nice glass of wine. But when Thanksgiving and Christmas come around, I tend to indulge in sweets a little more. How could you not with all the seasonal treats.
I have some of these items in my shopping cart as we speak and others I wait until I can hit the store from them. But they are always a must around the holidays. And I ramp up my gym workouts to burn off all the extra yummy calories I enjoy over the holidays.
One. Peppermint Bark. William Sonoma carries the best peppermint bark by far. Or at least from the ones I have tried. We always scoop up a tin or two of this and it is a favorite evening treat. And my brother-in-law may have eaten an entire container in one day last year. Just maybe.
Two. Modjeskas. Or what I like to call them, Scotch Kisses. Caramel covered marshmallows or heaven.
Three. Pumpkin Seed Brittle. I love brittle, but usually not peanut brittle. It is ok, but my least favorite brittle. BUT, pumpkin seed brittle, oh so good. I love most things pumpkin and this brittle doesn't disappoint. It has a slight spice to it that add the perfect balance to the sweetness.
Four. Fleur De Sel Caramels. Another William Sonoma favorite. I found these a few years back and now anxiously await their arrival on their website (which is always before stores in Reno). Bittersweet chocolate with sea salt and a velvety vanilla caramel inside.
Five. Vanilla Marshmallows. Every year, the day after Thanksgiving, we go Christmas tree cutting. And we always bring out hot chocolate. It is probably the only time of the year I enjoy hot chocolate. But I always add these vanilla marshmallows to give it that extra yumminess. These are way better than the crunchy marshmallows that come in the hot chocolate packets.
Six. Trader Joes Peppermint Joe Joe's. Do you like oreos? Well these are like oreos only better (which is saying a lot). These chocolate cookies have a vanilla peppermint cream with crushed candy canes. They are many flavors of Joe Joe's, but this one is my favorite. Pair it with a cup of coffee or over a bowl of vanilla ice cream.
Seven. Davidson's Christmas Tea. Sparks (neighboring city to Reno) has the Davidson's tea warehouse. They also have a little shop inside to buy and try teas and tea accessories. Their Christmas tea is a favorite. I stock up on it and enjoy it for months to come. The spices are perfect combination to the black tea. And you can find it online or in most Whole Foods and other shops. So good and perfect for a cozy cold day.

Stocking Choices for Avery and Sutton
Finding stockings....something that has taken way more time and effort then it should have. I have been on the search for Christmas stockings for the girls. I never really thought about it until a couple weeks ago when we were putting our Halloween stuff away.
I started searching Etsy, West Elm, Pottery Barn Kids, Restoration Hardware Baby, Target, Amazon, etc. Either nothing jumped out at me or it just seemed so expensive. I didn't want the clique "Baby's First Christmas" stocking because it would only be for the first Christmas. I want something that we can use for years to come. At least until the girls are old enough to pick out their own.
I wanted to personalize the stockings, but it wasn't mandatory. And I didn't want any Disney or child themed characters.
Here are a few of the ones I searched and liked.
1. RH Baby and Child Knit Stocking - $34 (on sale for $24)
2. RH Baby and Child Fair Isle Knit Stocking - $34 (on sale for $19)
3. Pottery Barn Gray Snowflake Stocking - $34.50 (on sale for $27.50)
4. West Elm Jingle Velvet Stocking - $49+ (on sale $39+)
5. Target Holiday Cream Fair Isle - $13
6. West Elm Knit Stocking - $24+ (on sale $19+)
7. Etsy Eugenie2 Personalized Knit Stocking - $37.50
As you can see, I clearly have a sort of look I was going for. We ultimately decided on #2, in red and white with gray personalization. I can't wait to get them in the mail and hang them up!

Weekending
Another weekend in the books. And thankfully our girls finally seem to be on the mend from being sick last week. Cross your fingers, but we haven't had a blowout/runny diaper since Friday. Please oh please let them be done with that. Their coughs are tapering off and they seem to be much more happy.
This weekend was pretty chill.
Friday we worked almost the entire day (so hard when you are used to half day Fridays). Then my dad and his friend met us at home to deliver wood and help R stack it. I stayed in with the babies. We attempted to take the girls to dinner that evening (at 6 pm which was a risk since bedtime is at 7 pm), but had to leave in the middle of it. We were those parents whose children started crying, had to get our food to go instead and rush home to feed them and put them to bed. Lesson learned, either don't go to dinner so late or bring their bedtime bottles with us.
Saturday was game day and the last home game of the season. We were running late as usual, but made it in time for all the food and fun. The chili was awesome, the company was even better and the Pack won the last home game of the season. Definitely a win in my books.
After the game, we headed home to pick up our little ladies. They had a pretty good day with their babysitter, but were so eager to see us.
We headed down to South Reno for dinner at my sister's house for a family housewarming. They built their house (ok builders did) and we were all so eager to see it. I love their house. And my sister made us a very yummy dinner, complete with homemade beer and dessert. So good. And the girls were spoiled with attention from their grandparents, great aunt and aunt.
Sunday morning we headed to brunch before a few errands.
Sutton enjoying herself at breakfast. She was wanting to nap, but too interested in everyone around her. After breakfast, we ran errands to World Market and Bed, Bath and Beyond. Do you know how hard it is to find a replacement french press glass carafe? A lot harder than I thought it would be. But we are back in business at work with coffee and saving money on our morning coffees.
After errands we headed home to build a fire and watch football. It started to rain and snow and we were hoping it would dump a bunch, but it was short lived. I ran to the grocery store and came home to start prepping dinner. We bathed the girls, fed them, put them to bed and started watching the Cardinals vs. Seahawks game (was recorded to skip commercials and catch up) while dinner was baking.
We had dinner followed by the rest of the game and falling asleep on the couch early. Total parent life. But a very good weekend.

Friday the 13th!
Happy Friday the 13th! This has been a very interesting week and one that I hope we don't have to repeat for a long time. Between losing our power for 20 hours on Monday - Tuesday, the girls colds were getting worse (think massive blowouts several times a day and even some throwing up) and me having some major side effects from the antibiotics I am on, I am hoping for a happier and healthier next week.
Today I am linking up with Karli, per usual.
One. Tomorrow is the last home game for the Pack. That means no more tailgating until the Super Bowl and that isn't really tailgating...it's partying. And tomorrow is one of my favorite tailgates. It's the annual Chili cook-off. No I am lazy (now) and don't make a chili, but I usually bring a dessert or all the toppings for the chili. Last year we had 25 entries and this pregnant momma loved it (pregnant last year, not this year). This year I can partake in the bloody mary bar and all the yummies I can take. And to top it off, we have a babysitter. So here is to the Pack winning (on Senior night) and getting a bowl bid.
Two. After the game, we will pick up our dear ladies and head to my sisters house. She is hosting us, my parents and my aunt at her house to show her house off. A pre-housewarming party. I can't wait to see their place. They had it built and picked out all the designs for it. Plus the girls will get to have lots of cuddles from their family!
Three. I have been buying way too many things this week. And none of it has been for me. Ok, I take that back. I did buy my shampoo, conditioner and thickening spray (Bumble and Bumble). But this week, we finally pulled the trigger on our holiday cards. Thanks to Minted, we got 20% off our foil card and they even address the cards to your recipients. You just have to put all the info in, but that was pretty easy. Way easier than writing over 50 cards out. Hand cramp problems. Use the code FOIL for your 20% off (until Monday 11/16).

Five. The holidays are fast approaching and I am beyond excited for them. In less than two weeks, we will be spending Thanksgiving with my in-laws family, cutting down Christmas trees the following day with my family and then ushering right into the Christmas season where we can start new traditions with the girls. I have so many things planned for the girls this holiday season. Hopefully my wallet can handle it and hopefully they enjoy it. In the meantime, I am just being grateful for being blessed with these two little girls to share life with. Oh and only 46 days until their first birthday (what?).

Late Weekending
Happy Veterans Day to all of our military who are currently serving and those who have served in the past. And a special Happy Veterans Day to my father who retired from the Army in August!
So I am really late on my weekend update. Life got in the way and I can finally sit down and update you all.
I told you all on Friday how I got the biopsy results from my moles, but I didn't tell you how my stitches removal and wound check up went. My stitches came out easily and sort of felt like I was being tugged inside my stomach. Such a weird feeling. Then I told them that my biopsy area on my back was still tender. The nurse practitioner said it was probably from the band aids I was wearing (they were leaving little micro scabs from being changed daily), but they would check it out.
Well it turns out the area around my wound was really sore (2 weeks and 2 days after the biopsy), so they did a swab of my wound. And it HURT. Raw q-tip rubbing an open wound. Ouch. And they said they would send off the swab to test, but most likely I have a staph infection. They hate to give out antibiotics, but they need this wound to heal ASAP to do the excision/surgery. So I am on antibiotics that I take 4 times per day and it makes my pee smell so bad (TMI, sorry). And I got the test results Monday which said I did in fact have a staph infection. Only 6 more days of antibiotics.
After my appointment, I took Walter to the groomers for a bath, cut and nail clipping. He smelt so good after! And I met my husband at his appointment to pick up the girls from him. It was a busy day to say the least.
Saturday we had some errands to take care of. Costco and Petco. We got those done and got home in time to get ready for our date night. My sister and aunt came over to watch the girls. R and I went to see Sicario. The movie was awesome. Very intense. Then we went to a little Italian place for dinner and wine.
When we got home, we caught up with my sister and aunt since the girls were already in bed. It was the perfect evening.
Sunday we had more errands to run. So we did those, grabbed lunch and got home in time to watch the Niner game. The Niners won with Blaine Gabbert (and now everyone is praising him. So lame.). My in-laws came over to hang out with the girls and catch up. I did some grocery shopping and came home to cook dinner for that night and prep the crock pot for Monday's dinner. We lit a fire and relaxed while the storm started to roll in. If we only knew what we were in for.

My in-laws came over to hang out with the girls and catch up. I did some grocery shopping and came home to cook dinner for that night and prep the crock pot for Monday's dinner. We lit a fire and relaxed while the storm started to roll in. If we only knew what we were in for.
Sutton passed out Sunday while playing with her grandparents
Avery passed out as well

Morning Chaos
Life has been a little chaotic the last two days. It started snowing yesterday and it did not stop until this afternoon. That would be great if our power didn't blow last night. We were all cozy at home, watching tv by the fire and then we saw a huge flash of light and a loud boom which sounded like something hit our front window. Then everything went out and black. This was at 9:45 pm.
We figured that was just a sign to go to bed. Except it never came back on. And it still hasn't at almost 2 in the afternoon. And our little ladies are still sick. They only have a nasty cough, but this cough induces vomiting. Or at least it did last night. Poor little ladies threw up their entire bedtime bottles from coughing and the mucus. Breaks my heart.
The girls slept in their bedroom until 1 am when the heat finally left their room. We moved them into our rooms in their rock n plays (they barely fit in them) and put some blankets on them and kept an eye on them. We didn't sleep much last night. And this morning we couldn't get ready or do anything. So we stayed at home until 10 am when we were able to take a quick shower with enough light (after two major baby blow outs) and try to get ready for the day. My hair may look like crap, but at least I am showered, my babies are warm at daycare and we are at work. Let's hope our power is back on by the time we leave work. The power companies website says it should be back on at 6 pm, but they also said it would be back on at 12:30 am, 5 am, and so on. So who knows. If it doesn't come back on, we will head to my in-laws house for the evening. So much for our planned date night and this short post.

Finally Friday
Is it me, or has it been a really long week? I think it in part has to do with all of the holidays we have around this time. Last week, Friday was a holiday (Nevada Day). None this week. Next Wednesday is Veterans Day. Then a non holiday week. Then Thanksgiving and Family Day. Lots of days off in my future and I am very excited about it.
This week I am linking up with Karli.
One. I have been really getting into Fall tv this year. I may get weeks behind because I have two little ones, but I binged watched Fargo season 1 and loved it. Now I am watching season 2 and I am loving it as well. I am an episode behind, but it has been really good. It goes back to before season 1 and explains so much. And it breaks my heart knowing that someone dies and every time she comes on screen you wonder when it will happen. Sorry for being so vague, but I don't want to ruin it for those that haven't watched it.
I am also loving American Horror Story. It has been pretty gruesome, but I am actually digging Lady Gaga in this. So creepy. And I am in the last episode of season 1 of The Affair. Another show that I am really liking. I didn't know if I would like the telling the story from different perspectives, but it has gotten better as the stories don't match up. Who killed Scotty? (don't tell me if you know). Plus it has Joshua Jackson and that brings me back to my Pacey days in Dawson's Creek. He's so hot. Shh don't tell my husband.
I am still watching Grey's Anatomy (though I am not liking this season that much and think it is time they throw in the towel). Any other shows you suggest I watch?
Two. I had an amazing girls night on Tuesday night. We went to a local wine bar, played bingo, ate tacos, chatted and of course, drank wine. It was so much fun to catch up with my favorite ladies. And as always, I can't wait for the next one.
Three. This has been some big news in the Reno area, but we are FINALLY getting a Chick-fil-A. I am not a big fast food fan, but for some reason, I can't get enough of Chick-fil-A. They have it all and it always tastes so good. I am sure it will be like when In-n-Out came here and I will get it, but not as often as I thought I would. But I am still excited!
Four. I finally got back my test results from the biopsies on my moles. The one on the left side of my abdomen that had to be cut out had some abnormal cells, but they got it all out (including some good cells) and things are just fine with that one. The one of the right side of my abdomen was just a benign growth (benign = no cancer). The one on my upper back came back very abnormal which means I need to go back in and have surgery on it. They need to cut out even more and get it all out. I am very bummed on this. This one has been infected and won't heal and now this. So please think positive thoughts for me and they get it all out. I will keep you all posted on when they take it out and the results of that one.
And as a reminder, please get your skin checked out. We were all young and sometimes dumb and didn't wear enough or any sunscreen. Protect yourself and your family and get your skin checked out. Better to be safe than sorry.
Five. I am going to talk football here for a second. It has been tough to watch the 49ers this year. I have been a long time fan (I am talking since I was 3 years old) and it is awful to watch this team and organization burn in flames. No one rally's behind Kaepernick, the offensive line is horrendous (seriously atrocious), the ownership sucks (looking at you Jed York. Please LEAVE.), the GM, Baalke, makes the worst decisions and needs to be fired ASAP, we make stupid trades (Vernon Davis for a 7th round draft pick...hello, trade for Virgil Green.), so we might as well take a torch and burn this season down because the Niners SUCK this year. (so upset about this).
At least the Wolf Pack won last night. It was an ugly win, but a win regardless.
And I am done.

Random Thursday
Did you know we are about 7 Friday's away from Christmas? Ya me neither. I am already getting asked to start Christmas lists for myself and my girls. This could take some time as I have no idea of what I want...other than a Kendra Scott necklace. Otherwise, I am not sure.
Another thing I am not sure of, is this post. It is going to be full of random, like most Thursday posts from me are.
- This week, Sonnet James released their holiday line. Now it isn't huge, but it has some very cute things. They even have some dresses for your minis. Too bad my girls aren't big enough for them yet. But I received a gift card to Sonnet James from my sister for my birthday (in August) and I finally got to use it. I bought this dress.

A Chanel inspired vintage-y looking dress. I have another dress from Sonnet James and I love it. So comfy, perfect for work and it transitions well into the evening for girls night or date night. I wore mine on Tuesday for meetings at work and then girls night after.
- My lady babies are sick. It isn't too bad, but they both have a cough that is horrendous. I just hope it doesn't progress into anything else. Did you realize that you can't give them much for that cough? I didn't until I researched. After research, I saw that you can and should put on the humidifier at night, can prop their crib mattress up with a book to help with the mucus, give them a bath and lots of cuddles. Any other suggestions mommies out there?
- We have date night this Saturday. As always, it has been far too long since our last one. We had every intention on going to Fantasies in Chocolate, but then R decided it was a lot of money and it would be more fun to go to a movie (since we NEVER get to see any in theaters anymore) and dinner. And in true parent fashion, we are going to the movie first to make sure we don't fall asleep after a tasty dinner and wine. We are going to see Sicario. We heard it was really good and it is something we can't really watch at home. Have you seen it? Would you recommend it?
- So in the middle of writing this post, my husband comes up to me with our french press...broken. He was cleaning the container out and it tipped over in the sink and shattered. And we had just bought two new bags of delicious coffee from Hub Coffee Roasters yesterday. And we CANNOT go without coffee, so I had to make an emergency run to Starbucks. Did I mention this all went down at work? Yes not a great start to our morning.
- This weather here is crazy. It was 77 degrees last Saturday and then it changed to the 40s rather quickly Monday with lots of rain and snow. Our mountains are covered in snow and it looks beautiful. Our next storm is forecasted to hit Monday. Bring on the powder. I can't wait to go snowboarding. Mt. Rose opened Wednesday!
And that's enough randomness for Thursday.

Baby Girls are 10 Months!
It's that time of the month again...my babies are a month older. 10 months to be exact (ok and a few days). I can't believe it. In two short months, we will be celebrating their first birthday. And we have Thanksgiving and Christmas along the way. I can't wait to celebrate this holiday season with my little ones.
Onto their 10 month update.
nicknames: Avery: Avery Girl, Avey, Bunny, Chunky Monkey, Avery Madison Sutton: Sutton Muffin, Sutte, Bear Cub, Little Miss, Sutton Kira
weight: The girls haven't been weighed since their 9 month check-up, but I am assuming they are around the 18 1/2 to 19 pound range. My girls are getting quite long and they grow out of the length of their pants fast, but they are still skinny minnies. We don't have another check-up until their one year appointment.
sleep: Did we even sleep this last month? It sure didn't feel like it. The girls have been teething and they are becoming mobile which makes them not want to sleep that much. We have been waking up many times a night this last month and it is brutal. When can we have our babies who sleep through the night back? Please let month 10-11 be more restful.
eats: The girls are really starting to love purees and real foods. They are currently drinking 27 1/2 ounces of formula a day. We dropped their ounces down as they weren't finishing their bottles anymore. Plus they are eating more foods now and haven't been as interested in their bottles. It is so hard to get them to sit still and take a bottle now a days. They want to be on the move, but still get their milk.
This month the girls have tried more breads, rice, chicken, different fruits (cut up very small), eggs, pancakes and a few other things. Sutton likes real foods more than Avery, but Avery is coming around to them more. They get two jars of puree per day plus any other foods we want them to try at breakfast or dinner.
loves: Sutton: Sutton loves to get into the crawling position. She rocks herself back and forth and has even taken a few "crawls". She has crawled backwards too. If all else fails, she will move to her tummy and scoot around. Sutton has also started to pull herself up on everything. It is time to drop her crib mattress because girl love to sit on her knees and stand. Sutton also loves to steal toys from her sister. If Avery has a toy, Sutton wants it. Even if it is just to take it from her. Little stinker. Sutton loves when you pretend to eat her arms or tummy. She loves to blow bubbles and squeal. Sutton says mamamama when she is upset and sometimes will say hi. Sutton loves her food and is willing to try almost anything. She usually likes it too. She has mastered the pincher grip and likes to feed herself. Sutton holds her own bottle and loves to throw it when she is done. Sutton loves to give hugs!
dislikes: The girls do not like Day Light Savings time. They have been waking up early and getting crankier before bed time. They also hate teething. Both girls have two teeth and more on the way and it hasn't been any fun for them. They are also starting to not like being in their car seats when we are out and about. They want to be carried around or in a shopping cart.
clothing size: The girls are wearing 9 month and 12 month clothing.
diaper size: Size 3.
Baby girls, mommy and daddy love you both so much. In two short months, you will be one and we can't even believe it. You have changed so much over the last 10 months and it has gone by in a blink of an eye. Everyone says to soak up these moments because they don't last long, and they are right. We can't wait to celebrate this holiday season with you two and see the wonder and joy in your eyes.
This month we celebrated your first Halloween, went to football games, took your first trip to Apple Hill, went to the last Food Truck Friday of the year, went to Tahoe and went on your very first swings and got your very first flu shot.
You two are the light of our lives and have changed us so much.
Love, Mommy and Daddy

Avery: Avery loves to talk. She loves to scream and watch everyone for a reaction. She squeals and babbles all day long. She also says mamamama when she gets upset and sometimes says hi as well. Avery loves sitting up and scooting around in circles. She will scoot herself across the room. She is starting to get into the crawl position and loves to be standing. She also loves jumping and dancing. Avery does her little dance/bobbing when you either sing to her or music comes on. Avery loves playing with toys and just hanging out. She is very independent. Avery is now pulling herself up on the crib railing and loves to stand and hold the yoga ball. She has also taken a liking to head butting everything. Avery loves shaking her head. Avery's favorite song is "If You're Happy and You Know It, Clap Your Hands". She gets so excited for it. Avery loves picking up toys and throwing them. Avery holds her own bottle and has even mastered the one hand bottle hold. Avery loves walking around with mommy and daddy.
Both girls have really started liking bath time. They get to take a bath in the big girl tub and they get to take it together now. They have lots of bath toys now which makes bath time more fun. They even enjoy getting their hair washed which we haven't seen since they were in the NICU. The girls also love being in their high chairs. Especially when we are out to breakfast.

Halloween Weekending
Back from another weekend, a long weekend at that. We celebrated Halloween, the girls turning 10 months (post coming tomorrow) and a huge winter storm rolling in. It is still raining/snowing right now and is finally starting to feel like Fall/Winter. Bring it on.
This wasn't from the weekend, but from the week. The girls rode in their first shopping carts. We usually bring them into stores in their stroller, but since they love being out of their car seats when we are out and about, we put them in the carts. I can't get over the cuteness here.
Friday we had off for Nevada Day, so we did what we do any weekend, we went to brunch.
We also took the girls 10 month photos, but I am saving those for their 10 month post. We didn't do too much Friday other than hang out with our little ladies and run a few errands and cuddle with this little guy.
Saturday morning we relaxed at home and noticed that we need to drop the girls crib mattresses because of this...
The girls are climbing up on everything. They are on the move and loving every minute of it.
Saturday was also Halloween, so we dressed our little ladies up for the days festivities.
Our little ladies were Thing 1 and Thing 2 from Dr. Seuss. I thought about doing something more original, but this way the ladies can get more use out of their outfits. They can wear the onesies again and the leg warmers are perfect for Christmas time. Plus they were so adorable in their outfits! They loved playing with the candy too.
We took the girls out on some errands and a long walk with Walter. The girls went down right after the first few trick or treaters came by. We spent the evening handing out candy and watching the kids freak out over our neighbors zombie window (a screen that showed zombies coming up to the window. So realistic, scary and fun). We handed out candy until 9:30 and only have a very small amount left which is good so we don't load up on Halloween candy for the next week.
Sunday was a lazy day. The storm started rolling in and football was on. We had an early morning breakfast since everyone must have still been asleep from Halloween and the time change. We went out in our sweats and had the restaurant almost to ourselves. Then we came home to watch the Niners crap the bed. I did some grocery shopping and came home to more football. We played with the girls and worked on their crawling.
Did any of your children not do so well with the time change? Our girls woke up early and were super fussy come 6 pm. Once they got out of the bath, it was game over and we spent the next hour crying and not happy. Not to mention, they are starting to get colds too. Runny noses and coughing. Last night wasn't the best sleep for anyone in our family.
But we did watch the Royals win the World Series (shout out to our in laws in Kansas City) and the Broncos beat the Packers. And we cuddled up in blankets and watched the rain fall all night. It is still raining and snowing, and it is going to be for the next several days. Bring on the El Nino because we need a good snow pack year (so we can do day dates snowboarding).
How was your weekend?
