I am linking up with up with Karli and April, as always.
One. Ladies (and gentlemen if I have any male readers!), I have date night with my husband tonight and I am super excited. Sure I still walk like I am 90 years old and I eat like a bird (courtesy of my abdominal binder), but I can't wait to try to get dolled up and hit up dinner with my handsome husband. And by dolled up, I will either have to shave my legs so I can wear a dress or opt for my Lululemon leggings since I have some major swelling going on in my stomach area. Either way, a night out is needed since my husband has been the best nurse this last week!
Two. Have any of you ladies used the Munchkin 360 cups for your toddlers? Lynn (over at Dispositive Motion) mentioned them in an email exchange this week and they look awesome. My girls love their bottles and love to drink out of regular cups, but they haven't taken to their sippy cups. We have tried so many different sippy cups and no go. But they will drink water straight from the glass with our help. They sometimes spill on themselves, but they love water from the glass. This could be my answer. The cups seal after the child takes a drink from them.
Three. Karli recently did a blog revamp and used Etsy for a simple but cute template and it was only $9. I have been wanting to freshen up this blog for quite awhile, but didn't want to spend a bunch of money on a custom design. So I have started the search for something that fits my current state of mind. Stay tuned for a fresh look to Sparkles and Lattes.
Four. The Canadian dollar is at a low right now. $1 US = $0.75 Canadian Dollar. What does this have to do with me and you? The store Roots. When I went to Toronto in the past for work, I always stayed near a mall that had Roots and so many other stores. And the US Dollar wasn't strong there so I always paid a higher price for everything I bought there. But I love their stuff. I have a sweatshirt, sweats and a shirt from there. My husband has received gifts from there. As well as my mother in law and sister. The point is, I wish I had a work trip there to buy all the things. Here are a few things on my wish list.
The side slit on this shirt is perfect for spring and I need this or something like this in my closet. So ladies, any suggestions or places to find it at a more reasonable price? And the bird sweatshirt is so cute, and I have nothing like it in my closet. Perfect for spring. And I could live in these skinny sweat pants. I have some sweats from there that aren't skinny, but they are my favorite. And I know these would become a favorite of mine as well. Need and want them all. So I am hoping to find similar items for less.
Five. We never got the girls one year old photos, and I am totally regretting it. So I need to set up 14 ish month photos for them. They are getting so big, changing daily and I need to capture it. But I am not sure who I should choose. We have had two different photographers take pictures of the girls over the last year. My dear friend Ali gifted us their newborn photos and we love them. But then I won family photos around the time the girls were 5 months old and we used her again for our Christmas card photos. Should I branch out and try someone else? Go back to one of the ones we used before? Ugh decisions. And one that I need to make ASAP. #momfail
Hope you all have a good weekend!
Hope you all have a good weekend!
That cup sounds pretty cool. I'll have to look into it for Emmy. She loves being a big girl. Can't wait to see the blog update. Have so much fun on your date night tonight. We have one tomorrow night and I'm so ready. I love all of those pictures of the girls. Wow, talent! If you like the people you've used I'd stick with one of them, but if you feel you want something a bit more than try someone else. Helpful wasn't I? :)
ReplyDeleteI saw the cups yesterday in person and I am definitely getting them. The girls love drinking from big girl cups, so it is a no brainer for us. What are you doing for your date night? Haha, I might go with one of the same girls this time. She loves them and gives us such great deals.
DeleteI need to pick up those cups. Jack loves to drink out of a regular cup but I'm too anal about spills to let him. I got my blog template from designerblogs.com they have some really cute templates already made for $15. There was a cute one with glitter that totally reminds me of your page name!
ReplyDeleteYou should grab the cups for sure. I am too anal about the spills as well and I think this one will finally work for them. I did pick one from designer blogs. I actually have three in mind and I am going to have my husband take a look at the live ones and pick. Someone from the outsides perspective. I will check out the glitter one for sure. Thanks for the heads up. have a good weekend!
DeleteWe have those 360 cups. Cash has the big boy version (without handles). I love it! You have to drink like a regular cup but doesn't spill. It is perfect for in the car & when he has water in the living room. He has other water bottles that he uses, but they leak. This one is perfect. I got the handle version for Wyatt for Valentines Day, but he has yet to start on it. However, now that I'm thinking about it, it might be too hard for him to learn on that type of cup...hmmm...
ReplyDeleteAnyways, for your girls, definitely!
Enjoy date night!
Then the 360 cups would be perfect for my girls because they are always drinking from our glasses. They just spill it more often. I will definitely get the handle version so they can hold it better. Thank you and have a good weekend Amy!
DeleteHope you have an amazing date night! You deserve it. Also, I just ordered the sippy cups off Amazon as soon as I read this. We are having such a hard time with sippy cups and I've tried almost everything. So frustrating. Let us know what you decide on the baby pics.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! We have tried almost everything as well and the girls haven't taken to any of them. So I am hoping this one works and it is something the girls are more likely to use and like since they love drinking from big girl cups. Have a good weekend!
DeleteHave fun on your date!!!!! We didn't do one year photos either.. we waited a bit and did photos when both boys hit like 17 months.. they could walk, and we captured some funny moments. :-) so waiting might be a blessing in disguise!! I can't wait to see them when you get them taken! Have a wonderful weekend!! xoxo
ReplyDeleteI kind of want to wait until they can walk, but I did contact the girls and see when they were available and one is for the weekend before Mexico and they are so close to walking right now, so it might work out. Fingers crossed. They would be 15 months and a week when that happens. Have a good weekend Jess!
DeleteYay for date night!! I wish I was going on a date tonight! Dang!
ReplyDeleteThose cups look awesome... I've never seen anything like it, but I think I might get a couple for Olivia.
Enjoy your night tonight!! So glad that you're able to get out and about!

You should plan a date night out! We try to do one each month.
DeleteI think all toddlers would like those cups. And as Amy said (above) they are great for the car and avoiding spills!
Have a good weekend!
I tried cups similar to those with Mila - such a great concept. She ended up preferring straw cups, but I really love the cups that teach kids to drink like an adult without the mess. I never heard of Roots before, but I love all three items you shared from there. So cute! Enjoy your date night!!!
ReplyDeleteWe are working on straws with the girls. They bite on them and aren't too sure what to do with them yet. haha. I love Roots. I only heard about them from traveling and shopping (what I always do when I travel) and I am dying for the shirt with the slit on the sides. Have a good weekend Leslie!
DeleteThe cups are awesome! E has some and they use them at daycare and thus why I suggested them. So, we did maternity, newborn and 1 year photos for E with same photog because I got a package deal. But I use others for her 6 month and the valentine shoot I did. I would say find someone who's aesthetic you like. have fun tonight on your date!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to get my in the mail. I think the girls will love them. Thanks for the thoughts on the photographer. I can't wait to see E's 1 year photos. Have a good weekend Lynn!
DeleteI'll have to check those silly cups out- they look like they could be a hit around my house as well! Hope you have an amazing date night with the hubs. Date nights are the best! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteKate :: A Little NW Charm
Let me know what you think if you get them. Have a great weekend as well!
DeleteMy son Is obsessed with straw cups but I might have to give those a try! And I don't want to talk about how rally our dollar is right now :(
ReplyDeleteBut you have Roots and I am so jealous of that. Let me know if you get them for your son!
DeleteSo, the Moms on Call ladies recommended these cups (http://momsoncall.com/moc-products/) so we bought them for their first sippy cups. They did not take to them at first, however, they have JUST started liking them! And I like the concept. The sooner they learn to drink out of a regular cup the better.
ReplyDeleteAwesome. Thanks for the heads up. My girls did take to their old ones this weekend, but it could be a fluke. Haha.
DeleteRoots is one of my favourite store to shop at for comfy clothes. Did you enjoy your stay in Toronto? I used to live there and loved it! Enjoy your date night!!
ReplyDeleteOh I loved Toronto. Such a great place. How long ago did you live there?
