Confessions

It is time for Confessional Thursday again. I have been waiting all week for this. By the way, how is it Thursday already?

I confess that I am so thankful and grateful for this blogging community. So many of you reached out to me to make sure I was ok after my vague post on Tuesday and it brightened my day more than you know. So thank you friends!

I confess that we leave to Mexico in a week and I am starting to panic a bit. So much to pack and prep before we go. We have never traveled like this with our girls and I am afraid we are going to forget a lot or not pack the right things.

I confess that I got my hair done Tuesday night and I told my husband I was only going to color my hair and not cut it. I didn't need the cut since my hair is pretty healthy and I used to only cut it every other time. When it came time, I asked for the cut to keep it fresh and healthy. Ugh, I didn't need to spend the extra money.

I confess that I am mad at the government. I finished our taxes and for the first time ever, we owe money. Not a good time Mr. IRS man. How can we pay this year when we added in childcare expenses and some other stuff and not the year prior when we only got to claim our children. SO.NOT.FAIR.

I confess that my go to dinner this week has been avocado toast. We have had lots of evening events this week, so we have been eating separately (but still at home). But each night, I toast my bread, slather on a full avocado and finish it with salt and pepper. Heavenly. My mom used to make this all the time as a snack when we were kids and I still can't get enough of it. The way to my heart is through avocado and coffee.

I confess that I loved how much family time we had last week. We saw my parents and in-laws three times last week. I could get used to that much family time!

I confess that I need some blog ideas for when I am gone. I have a bunch of guest posts coming (thank you friends), but I also want to write some posts beforehand for you all. So what do you want to know about me, hear from me, advice, etc. Send me your ideas please!

I confess that I am dreaming of all the amazing food I will eat in Mexico....Red snapper, pastor tacos, the best egg breakfasts, coconut cream pie, shrimp and/or fish tacos and the list goes on.

I confess that I am in denial that my sweet baby girls turned 15 months on Tuesday. How can that be? And I used to hate when everyone referred to their kids ages in months, but now I do it and I don't care. Oh how times have changed.

  1. I am so impressed you guys are going to do a big travel with the girls. Especially flying. I haven't flown with either of mine yet. I'm so nervous about that. We just drive since it just makes more sense for us. You will get it all packed and the girls will do awesomeon the plane. Damn you IRS man and tax time. Ugh!

  4. Flying with kids is stressful, but you'll get through it. I worried about forgetting something and I packed WAY too much when we went on vacation in November. Avocado toast sounds so good right now. Yum to all of that food in Mexico too! PV has some great places to eat! (Can you tell I'm hungry right now? Haha)

  5. i hate the government also. i feel like we all work hard for our money, so why should I have to give MORE when others aren't working at all!? I think if you have held a job, even if you "owe," you should just break even and be at 0 ( as long as you aren't claiming like 10000 haha..like what you are claiming must be legit). bah humbug!

    1. I agree. I already pay enough. And it's like, do you know how much of the money I make that I give back to the government and everyone else? Car payment, house payment, daycare, groceries, baby stuff, and the list goes on. Give us a break!

  8. Honestly, I am soooo excited to hear about your Mexico trip. The food, the activities, the beaches, ahhh, so much excitement ahead! I am all about avocado too. Sometimes we will make like bacon, avocado, tomato grilled cheese sandwiches, haha, but I think the bacon takes any "healthy" out of it. Turkey bacon though!

    1. Really? I guess since I grew up with it, I just love it. Or maybe because I love avocado so much. Thank you Jen. We are doing better and trying to embrace our trip and enjoy it as much as we can. We are using it as a chance to celebrate Mare as well.

I would love for you to do a guest post as well. That would be amazing.

I don't know how we are paying but we are. Sucks, but I guess we need to have more taken out during the year to help it.

  16. I can't wait to hear how your trip goes. We head to the beach with both kiddos in May, so I will be checking out your tips and suggestions! And girl - don't even get me started on the government right now. It makes me physically ill thinking about it how unfair the system is, and how it always ends up hurting hardworking people like us the most. UGH!

    1. How fun!!! I will definitely post some tips. Are you finding out the gender of this babe? The government has me really sad. I don't want to pay my taxes and I am holding out as long as possible. It just plain sucks!

  17. Avocado on toast?! Sounds pretty good! I'll have to give it a try! I agree on taxes-they suck. BIG TIME. But on the bright side (literally speaking) you'll be sitting toes in sand soon in Mexco! Wahoo!!
