Vegas Adventures

I would say my trip to Las Vegas was very eventful. I left early Tuesday morning, flew down there and worked all day. Easy enough.

I was greeted at Hertz with this pretty car.

Who knew she would cause me so much anguish later on.

For lunch, I went to this newer restaurant called SkinnyFats. They have two sides to their menu, the healthy side and the sinful/fat side. Everything on the menu looked so good. I had even considered going back on Wednesday for lunch there again.
Pimp Shrimp - Sriracha Tempura Shrimp, Avocado Pico, Cayenne Lime Slaw and Spicy Cilantro Aioli on a Cucumber Boat

After work, I checked into my hotel, hit the super small gym and went to the Fashion Show Mall to get a few stocking stuffers and more shopping done for the girls. I wasn't that successful in it. After I went to dinner at a place that resembles Crawfish Asian Cuisine here in Reno,  Smokin' Crawfish. Basically it is peel and eat anything (shrimp, crawfish, lobster, crab, mussels, etc.) in some very yummy sauces. I went for one pound of shrimp in their Smokin Sauce with some corn on the cob to soak up the yummy sauce.

Wednesday I worked in the morning and after I got done, which was early, I decided to head back to the airport to catch an earlier flight. And I skipped out on lunch in order to do this. I was about 2 miles from the airport when this happened.

My back tire was losing air and fast. Most of the air was gone within a mile and I was stuck on the side of the 215. Cars were blazing past me and my car shoke every time. I called Hertz to let them know and they said they would send over AAA, but it would cost $80. Or I could change it. That sounds like a plan, have a woman in a dress change a tire on the freeway and said tire is on the side of traffic. No thanks asshole. I told them I would fight the charge, but to send them out.

NDOT stops by awhile later and checks to see if I have a spare in my trunk. Nope. Who rents out cars without a spare tire? Apparently Hertz does. He tried to air up my tire and said that there was a patch/plug on this tire and it was repaired poorly. He said air was leaking out of it quickly and it wasn't anything I did. AAA arrives and I tell them that there is no spare and they call in a tow truck. Another 30 minutes later, the tow truck arrives and puts Mercedes up on the bed. We drive to the rental car place, I tell them what happened, fight to get the extra charges taken off and leave. Not very good customer service either. And I am a gold member.

I didn't make the early flight, but I made my original flight. And I had to eat a late lunch in the airport. But I made it home safely and I have a good story to tell now.

    1. I know, right? I guess it happens a lot according to the tow truck driver. Rental cars need to step up their game. Not safe at all.
