Bump Update - 12 Weeks

Thank you all for your kind words here on this blog, on Instagram and Facebook.  We feel beyond blessed to have all this support and love.
Little munchins at 9 weeks 5 days.  They are waving to you all.

I figured I would copy my favorite bloggers out there and do a weekly (hopefully) baby/bump update.  I hope to put these up every Wednesday, so feel free to stay away then if you are not into all things baby.

Whoever said first time moms (FTMs) don't show until 18ish weeks lied.  Or maybe it is because there are twins in there.  But here is my bump at 12 weeks.

How far along: 12 weeks, 1 day
Babies are the size of a: Ripe Apricot/Lime.  They are just over 2 inches long each and weigh half an ounce each.
Maternity Clothes: Not yet.  Thankfully, but the bump is starting to show and it looks more like I ate way too many donuts than a cute little baby bump.
Stretch Marks: Nothing yet and I hope it stays that way.  Any amazing products I should consider using daily?
Sleep: Pretty good, but I wake up a couple times a night to pee.  And I think I need to buy a pregnancy pillow soon.
Symptoms: Headaches and a touch of morning sickness.
Best Moment of the Week: Announcing to extended family, friends and my bloggy buddies.
Movement: Nothing yet, but I can't wait to feel them move around.
Cravings: Watermelon.  I can't get enough.
Gender: Hoping for a boy and girl, but still don't know.
Belly Button In or Out: In
Wedding Ring on or Off: On
Anything Making You Queasy or Sick: Microwaving fish (who does this at work? Ugh).
What I Miss: A big glass of wine.  I missed the biggest glass of wine in my life on my birthday.  I am a bit dramatic over it.
What I am Looking Forward to: Feeling the babies move and finding out their genders.
Labor Signs: Not even close.
Nursery: Still have no concrete ideas until we know the genders.
Emotions: Super emotional this week.  I swear everything happy and sad gets to me.  I read about a dog's last day alive and I couldn't stop crying (at work).  I watch sappy movies, cry.  Oh Lovely hormones.

  2. Awww twins!!! How exciting! Congratulations! Wouldn't that be perfect if you had a boy and a girl?! You look great! I was soooo sick when I was pregnant, so happy that you aren't feeling it too bad.

    1. I have always wanted a boy and a girl, so that is ideal, but as long as they are happy and healthy. And thank you. I feel like I am showing so much already, but taking it as a blessing. Any remedies for morning sickness? Any advice on anything from getting them to sleep, must have items, things you don't really need, etc?

  5. Homemade belly butter is the best way to go. The store bought kind gave me a rash! I can send you what I have left over, but the recipe is super simple. I'll send it to you on Pinterest!

    1. Awesome. I really appreciate it. I know that I am going to get bigger (hopefully not too insanely large), so I want to combat them right away.

    2. I don't want to make you sad, but I've read a lot of things that say it's mostly about your skin type, and lotions and such really only help keep your skin hydrated, they can't actually prevent stretch marks. But just remember if you do get them, they are nothing to be ashamed of!

  6. Yay!!! I can't wait to read every Wednesday about your babies... Your having TWINS!!!! AAHHHH! LOL I use two products right now daily, bio-oil and cocoa butter for stretch marks. I already had stretch marks from my previous pregnancy but I'm trying to prevent them from getting any darker. I wold love to hear this homemade belly butter from @Melanie, because I'm about to run out!! hehe Have a great weekend. I'm now following you through all social media to keep up with you .. yay again! lol

    2. Here's the recipe I used. You can add essential oils to make it smell different but I personally liked the cocoa butter/coconut smell. Anything too perfumy made me sick! http://www.modernmom.com/4b4a772e-3b36-11e3-be8a-bc764e04a41e.html
