Nordstrom Sale Hits and Misses

So I know that the Nordstrom sale is over, but I didn't get most of my items until really late. I ordered everything (minus one item) on the August 13th and things took forever to come in. I ordered one item on the 16th and it was the first to arrive. Go figure. Anyways, I thought I would share what I ordered, what I kept, what I returned and where you can find these items or similar items (and hopefully on sale).

So if you remember, here is my wish list. I circled the items that I was able to order.

And now for the try on. Please don't judge my awful selfies. I am not an OOTD picture taker and I need to up my game when it comes to try on pictures.

First up, the Dreamers by Debut High/Low Sweater. This sweater was really soft and I liked the high/low until I tried it on. From the front it seems fine, but from the side you can see that the slits go up pretty high. If I even lifted my arms a bit, you can see my stomach. That means I wouldn't be able to wear this to work and if I did, it would have to be with a high rise pants. I also got a similar sweater to this during a J Crew clearance sale (which I kept), so this one went back. RETURNED

Next up, CeCe Puff Sleeve Crepe Top. I had been so excited to get this item and then the pink was sold out by the time I had a chance to get it. So I settled for the green which is a really pretty color. I liked the length of this shirt, the feel, but I couldn't get the button buttoned up in the back and the sleeves were larger than I am used to. Plus since I won't be going back to work until January, I sent this one back. But it was a tough decision. RETURNED

Next up, the Leith Cozy Long Cardigan. I have this cardigan in black and I LOVE it. I wore it a ton last year and so I knew I had to have another. This time I got the green one and it is soooo soft. I definitely will be wearing this one a lot. KEPT

Next up, the Barefoot Dreams CozyChic Cardigan. This item I didn't even have on my wish list. I have seen the hype over it for years and I thought I would order it and try it out. This is the item that I ordered last and was first to arrive. From the moment I took it out of the box, I knew this lived up to the hype. It is soft, comfy, cozy and perfect for working from home. I got the charcoal color and I love it. I don't want to take it off. KEPT

Next up, the Blondo Sydney Waterproof Bootie. I loved these from the moment I took them out of the box. I tried them on and was like I am keeping these. They have a comfy toe box, are waterproof and suede. But I had tried them without socks and then remembered to try them on with socks. That is when I knew they had to go back. They were perfect in the length of the shoe, but once I added socks, they were tight in the width of the shoe and I was wear little socks, no show socks. So sadly, these went back. I just wish they were a little wider. RETURNED

Lastly, I bought the Kate Spade New York Glitter Studs. I didn't take a picture with them on, but I wore them the day I got them. They are the perfect size. I had been wanting them for years and I finally grabbed them. Well worth the $15. KEPT

As you can see, I only kept 3 things out of the six items I bought. Now I know things went back up in price, but I have bought the Leith cardigan at full price before and it was worth it. I heard that very soon Nordstrom Rack would have the Barefoot Dreams cardigans there. Also, you can sign up on their website and they will give you a coupon there. And HSN also does sales on the Barefoot Dreams cardigan all the time. So keep an eye out and sign up for their emails.

  1. I know what you mean about buying clothes that are for work you wont be wearing, it's part of the reason I haven't shopped much LOL! I do like that green puff sleeve top! xo, Biana BlovedBoston

    1. It is hard. I bought a bunch of stuff at J Crew at the beginning of the pandemic and thought I have a ton of great Summer work tops to wear and then we never went in. Now they have sat in my closet. I am thankful I got most of them at 60 to 75% off. Otherwise I would be very mad. Ha.

    1. Thank you. You are too kind to me. I think I would have kept it if I had it in pink. I loved the hot pink color. I wish the boots would have fit me.

  6. I've never been able to get a Barefoot Dreams cardi! They did have it in a medium when I was able to shop, so I got it, but it's too big and I had to return it. One of these days I'll get my hands on one! Both cardigans look great on you!

    1. I got the small and I agree that a medium would be too big. You can always go on HSN or Barefoot Dreams website and sign up for their emails. I heard they do a similar sale around Christmas time. So worth the price. And thank you. I love both of the cardigans very much and they will be worn a lot this Fall/Winter.

  7. I was lucky enough to score a circle cardigan too! I got the lighter gray one, and I love it so much. I am going to live in that thing the minute the temps drop. I have had those multi colored earrings from Kate Spade for several years now, and they are my favorite little something to add to any outfit. I have the blush Leith cardigan from last year's sale and love that too! The green looks so good on you. Stinks about the boots not being wide enough. I have that problem a lot. I got the zella leggings this year and was surprised how different they feel from the ones I have from a couple years ago. Surprised in a good way! Pretty much the rest of my wish list was sold out. I got the shorts pajama set and one of the Nordstrom brand throws that every one raves about but honestly, it was a lot smaller than any throw I have. It is beautiful, but definitely disappointed in the size. And basically the whole sale in general this year.

    1. I got the darker gray one and didn't think I would love it as much as I do. I can't wait to wear it. It is cool enough to wear it today. We are only to hit 71 degrees. I love that. Oh darn. I should have ordered the Zella leggings. I am bummed now. I am disappointed in the sale as well. It sucked. Did you return the throw? I thought it was small when I looked at the size and that is why I didn't grab it.

  9. That green top was really cute - I can see why it was a hard one to go back. Although I totally get not buying as many work clothes here of late. Who knows what is going to be happening with that in the future!

    1. I have no idea when we are going back and I don't want to buy a bunch of stuff that I can't wear. I already did that. Ha.
