Onto Friday favorites and happenings.
ONE. Let's start with the girls birthday. We had Friday off (the day before the girls birthday) because we had the internet guy coming out and the chimney sweep guy coming out. So after dropping the girls off at school, I came home to bake and decorate cupcakes for their class. I did funfetti with purple vanilla frosting.
The girls happily enjoyed their cupcakes and being sang to at school!
We decided not to throw a huge party for the girls this year since we have the previous three years. We decided just to focus on them. So we had an Avery and Sutton Day!
The day started off with breakfast at their favorite restaurant followed by some time at a new-to-us trampoline park. I didn't get any photos while we were there as we did the jumping and adventures with them. The girls had a blast, but we were all tired once the jump time was over. Plus we were sooo sore for days after that.
Next, we headed to pick up their birthday cake for later on in the day. Then we went home and had some lunch and naps for the girls. I got them up a bit early since we had to get ready to go have manis and pedis together. The girls love getting their nails done, so I set up an appointment for them to professionally get them done. They had the scrubs, lotions, painting, sparkles and the whole amazing treatment done. They even had amazing hot chocolates that I kept "feeding" them to while their nails dried. I just got a shelac manicure, so I would dry faster and could watch them more.
Sutton and her pink color she chose.
Avery and her bright pink color that she chose.
Avery enjoying her pedi.
Sutton enjoying her pedi.
All done and just letting everything dry.
Once their nails were dry enough, I carried them to the car and we headed home. We picked up Rory and headed off to pizza with my parents, my in-laws and my sister and brother-in-law. We had pizza and garlic knots and then headed home for cake and presents.
The girls tore through their presents in record time, but got some awesome things.
After everything was done, we played with some of the girls new toys and then everyone headed home and the girls went to bed. I can't believe I have 4 year olds! Time really does go by so quickly.
TWO. Sunday was spent taking down all the Christmas decorations other than the Christmas tree. I just can't seem to part with it. Along with the Christmas decorations, I went through all of the girls clothing. I made two piles. One for donation and one for stuff to sell. I then went through my closet and did the same thing. I didn't go through my dresser yet though. By that time, I was exhausted. But I put everything up online to sell (on my poshmark) and then took everything to a donation location.
It feels so good to purge so much stuff for the new year!
Just some of the girls stuff that we donated.
THREE. The rest of the day was spent outside since it was in the low 50s. We have been having some crazy weather around here where we get one day that is 50 and then many days of barely 30 degrees. So we had to take advantage and go outside. The girls rode their bikes a bit, but then Sutton stayed on her bike and Avery changed to her scooter.
We had a great time. We had champagne, snacks and tons of water. We went home just after midnight and had a great time. But I woke up feeling awful. I thought I might have had a hangover from champagne, but it wasn't a hangover. It was some sort of sickness. I feel lightheaded, have a fever, get dizzy when I sit up or stand, have an overall feeling of blah, have a headache and sinus pressure. My nose and eyes were sooo swollen on New Year's Day.
So let's hope that this new year only gets better!!!
FIVE. We had the girls 4 year old appointment on Wednesday and they have grown so much. They are perfectly healthy (praise the lord) and the pediatrician was very happy with their progress. Sutton now weighs 36 1/2 pounds and is 42 inches tall. She has gained 5 pounds in one year and 3 inches. She is in the 80th percentile for her height and in the 25th percentile for her BMI. Avery now weighs 36 pounds and is 41 1/2 inches tall. She gained 3 pounds and 3 inches in one year. She is in the 75th percentile for her height and is in the 25th percentile for her BMI as well. The girls rocked their appointments, but HATED the shots. They told me they didn't want to go back to the doctor for awhile. Ha. No one does girls.
I am linking up with April, A Little Bit of Everything, Meet @ the Barre and Cup of Tea.
Have a great weekend!
Aw the girls look so cute getting their birthday mani/pedis! What a great way to celebrate the day with all their favorite activities! I'm so inspired by your closet overhaul. I have to just DO IT. I put things on poshmark here and there but I know I should just go through everything at once and put it up. Hope you feel better and happy New Year!

It is such a good feeling to get rid of things and purge. But it also makes me want to buy more. Ha. Oh I love putting stuff up on Poshmark. My girls stuff sells really well there. Have a great new year!
DeleteThis week was SUCH a blur, I totally agree! Love how pampered the girls were for their birthdays. Four is such a fun age!!
ReplyDeleteI sure hope so. They had the best time. I think we made the right choice to have a day for them instead of a big party. And they still had a party with family!
DeleteBless their hearts! I don’t like shots either. Love them with their cupcakes!
ReplyDeleteI don't think anyone likes shots. Ugh. They loved their cupcakes. They want them daily. Ha.
DeleteWhat a great birthday celebration! Do you end up selling anything on poshmark? I have a ton of Simon's old clothes to get rid of. I hope you got over your sickness!
ReplyDeleteI have sold lots of stuff on Poshmark. You can see some of the recent things that I have sold on my poshmark link. Kids stuff sells really well. And thank you so much!!!
DeleteThose cupcakes look delicious!!! Yum! So sorry you have been sick. That is definitely not the way you want to start off the new year!
ReplyDeleteThey were soooo good. I saved one for Rory and I. I hope that next year I am not sick for the new year. This is two years in a row.
DeleteHope you feel better soon!! The pedicure date looked like a blast! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. It was a ton of fun. Something I have always pictured doing.
DeleteSo big!! And pedis and manis are the best with the girls. E loves doing it as well. I need to figure out poshmark. My clothes never sell.
ReplyDeleteSometimes you have to repeatedly share your stuff or lower your prices. I have sold a lot, but it was a learning curve for sure. My girls LOVED their manis and pedis. They want them done again. Ha.
DeleteWhat a wonderful and special birthday they had! :) Yay for pedicures!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful birthday for them! I love that they had pedi's! Sorry you got sick on New Years, it is that time of year! Here is to a wonderful 2019!
ReplyDeletePraise the Lord for happy & HEALTHY 4 year olds!!!
ReplyDeleteI just love you take them to get pedi's... the girl life!
That picture of you & your love - you both look so good there. Wonderful picture!
So sweet to see their little excited faces, and the 'concentrated' look during the pedicure. They did so well to sit still! I had to chuckle though, because at 4 they are getting manicures and pedicures and I'd never had either haha! Sorry to hear you were ill, something similar with sinuses and eyes is striking people down left right and centre here too - I hope you are feeling better now? Great way to spend NYE with champagne. I am the same as you with the clear out - what is it about the new year that makes us want to clear stuff out? Whatever it is, I love it, and have been doing the same xx
