Thoughts and Confessions

I am making a Thoughts on Thursday/Confessions post. How is that even happening? Ha. I have felt so behind on my blogging lately, but this week I have stuff to say.

THOUGHTS...

- I am so ready for Fall to be here. I LOVE summer and everything that goes with it, but there is just something special about Fall. The leaves change, the weather cools off (no more 90 to 100 degree heat!), the holidays approach, the fashion, comfort foods and FOOTBALL. I seriously am counting down the days.

- I really hope to get another big beach day in before the weather changes too much. There isn't much better than a day at the beach....especially Lake Tahoe.

- I got my haircut on Tuesday and I told myself that I wouldn't go any shorter and then my stylist suggested trimming it a bit more to have even more of an a-line. She was right. It looks good. But this is it. No shorter than this and I will probably grow it out for awhile, but only about 3 or so inches. I like this shorter hair look.

- Why are vitamins/supplements so expensive? Ugh. I have to take so many now and they are pricey. Especially with how many I have to take.

- The girls are adjusting ok to preschool. Drop offs are getting easier. They walk into the classroom and are fine until Rory and I are going to leave. Then they cry for 3 to 5 minutes and are then happy again. They have been working on kicking the girls blankie habits and they only get them at naptime. So amazing. I don't care if they want a blankie, but I want to kick the paci habit at home. Ugh. Such a struggle. The girls love two of their teachers, Ms. Kam and Ms. Kelsey, but they haven't warmed up to the other teachers yet. In due time I guess. But Avery's vocabulary has exploded since she started there. She has always been a talker, but now, WOW.

- I have already started thinking about the girls birthday party and where I want it, the theme and what not. Yes we are still 4 months away. Ha.

CONFESSIONS...

- I have been getting my lashes done by the same girl for a long time, off and on. She is a good friend of mine and while I love her to death, I just couldn't continue to have a professional relationship with her. I totally understand that she is a mom and her daughter comes first, but I just need someone a bit more reliable. Isn't it hard breaking up with people in the service industry? Especially when they are your friend? But the good news is, I found an amazing gal who took over and I LOVE my lashes.

- I have several bruises on my hips/butt from my b-12 injections. While the injection doesn't hurt (like at all), the area bruises so badly. Anyone experience this? Remedies?

- I am obsessed with my Fitbit and making my daily steps. It is like a competition, but with myself. I need the most steps, the most calories burned, the most stairs, etc.

  1. I am obsessed with my FitBit too but it's going bad. My husband said after so much continued use, lol, they do that so mama is going to need a new one. Come on Fall and all things Football and Pumpkin and I could go on and on!! Have a GREAT Day!

  4. I bet your hair looks so good and breaking up with anyone who you have been going to is so hard and awkward. But you are the client! I have to take my blood a lot and putting a lot of immediate pressure on it when I'm done helps prevent bruising. Have you tried Amazon for vitamins? I started getting vitamins and generic OTC's there and they were a fraction of the cost!

  5. Yes to Fall!! The older I get, the more I can't stand constant heat. I love 60-70's weather. I need a new battery for my Fitbit because I was the same way, obsessed with my steps!!

  6. The daycare/school adjustment is definitely hard. Last summer with Jackson he cried for weeks at dropoff and it broke my heart, but he always got over it right after I left. His vocabulary exploded once he started, too! I intentionally always kind of hop around for hair stylists and stuff because then I don't ever have to 'break up' with someone haha-it really is hard to stop going to someone you have seen for years!

  7. I just had my haircut too. :) I had to laugh at your first and second thoughts - you can't wait for fall, but you love the beach! It's good you love both though, of course! I had to get a new fitbit because mine stopped holding a charge. They replaced it, so that was good!

  9. I'm so glad to hear that the girls are doing better in school already! And I agree 100% about vitamins and supplements. They are ridiculous. I actually just found some decent ones at Target for the kids that aren't so bad and I'm actually mentioning them in my Five on Friday tomorrow! What do you get B12 shots for?

  10. Look at you and your link up! You are so not behind on blogging - or at least in my eyes. :) I am very ready for Fall. We've had a bit cooler weather here as of yesterday and I am loving it. This pregnant girl is tired of being so hot! And whiny. Haha. And I'm glad the shots don't hurt but boo on the bruising. I hope you're starting to feel a boost in energy!! And I hope you get another beach day in. :)

  13. I am so ready for fall too!!!! Or at least some cooler weather because sheesh its hot and humid here! I have just started thinking about Zoe's first birthday too! Four months away. oops! What day is the girls? Vitamins are so expensive! Any health related thing is I feel like. Stinks about the bruises! I had to give myself the B-12 shots and I did them in my arm muscle and didn't have any bruising. Giving yourself a shot is no fun.

  14. I got my hair cut as well this week and I'm so glad I did. I initially wanted just a trim but I ended up going shorter and I'm much happier.

  16. I love my FitBit. I do the daily and weekly step challenges against my friends, which is great since I am super competitive and this helps me stay on track with my exercising. Especially with my Spartan Race coming up. If you want to join our FitBit step competition, let me know and I'll add you.

    1. How good are you guys? I am just getting started and sometimes get the 10,000 and other times 18,000. It varies so much.
