Fri-Yay

I survived another week. Too bad I have to work all day since we had Monday off for President's Day. But I am out of the office next week and exploring more of America. I.CAN'T.WAIT.

We don't have a lot on the agenda this weekend as we have another weekend of snow. Yep. The west coast keeps getting pounded with snow. I am so over winter already. Have I mentioned that?

ONE. So I am looking for basic tees that are soft and amazing. Something that holds up would be nice since the ones I used to get from J Crew would get holes in them after a few washes. I blame the thin material. But I have been searching all week for the best soft tees. So far I have had my eye on this one. It's from Madwell and gets good reviews on Nordstrom. What is your favorite tee?

TWO. Bathing suits. Another thing that I need is more bikini tops. I only have two that fit and I went to my tried and true, Victoria Secret and nothing. There are a few on VS Pink, but then I remembered when Lindsay mentioned that VS was going to stop selling bathing suits. Did that really happen? Ugh. So annoyed. I have bought 95% of my bathing suits from there and have no idea where else to shop. Suggestions?

I still need suggestions, but I found a really cute bathing suit at J Crew and Nordstrom. It is a high cut halter top, but I think it is so cute. Plus it will replace my blue and white stripped suit that I loved from Garage (I bought it at the Mall of America a few years back).

THREE. Happy Anniversary to my parents. On Sunday, my parents will be married for 34 years. I am 33, turning 34 in August. You do the math :) Love you mom and dad! But seriously. I can't believe they have been married for that long and together for longer.

They are my relationship inspiration. Rory and I will celebrate 4 years of marriage in August and both sets of parents have been together forever. So cool to be a part of this.

FOUR.  I bought Big Little Lies after so many bloggers raved about it. Plus it just came out as a series on HBO and I am dying to see it. So hopefully I can read the whole thing next week on my work trip. And I need more suggestions for my Mexico trip as I usually can get through two or three books. So send your recommendations please.

FIVE. If you haven't watched This Is Us this week, stop what you are doing and watch it. And don't look below this. Skip to the bottom. I seriously LOVE this show and this weeks episode really confirmed that. I haven't cried that hard in so long. I was a sobbing mess. This nailed it for me.

  1. I"m with you on cute and comfy tee shirts. I swear they always get holes which is so annoying. I like the ones by Loft, but they tend to get holes after a while too. Boo! Happy Anniversary to your parents! That's so awesome! HAve a great weekend.

  5. That quote...I teared up reading it. That episode was traumatic! I love that striped bikini! I buy most of my tees from old navy and loft, but would love a new recommendation. Let us know if you find a good one!

  6. Ugh bathing suits. I just bought a one piece for Wes's upcoming swim class and I hate it.

This past episode of this is us wasn't a tear jerker for me but I definitely cried like a baby in precious ones!

  7. LOVED This Is Us this week. Very well done. Nice relationship goals you and your husband have to aspire to - my friends in college and I found it interesting that our entire group's parents were all still married. Almost a strange statistic these days.

  8. Thanks for reminding me about the HBO series!! I need to see if we can find/stream it somewhere! If you like thrillers, I just read both of Ruth Ware's books. I can't remember if you already read The Woman in Cabin 10? Cheers to the weekend :)

  9. I like Old Navy t-shirts, but it has to be the right type! I have a few of the type that I like. You will definitely finish Big Little Lies quickly. I watched the first episode last week with my book group because we read the book!

    1. I heard it is really good and I need to read the book. I will do it on my vacation so I can watch the show when I get back. How was your vacation?

  11. I really like the pattern on that bathing suit. Having had a baby 6 months ago I am terrified to get into a swimsuit haha!

  12. That swimsuit is so cute! I really like Truly Madly Deeply deep v tees from Urban outfitters, but they are on the spendier side. I have scooped them up when they have gone on sale! Old Navy does have good ones too, if you are on the tall side I would order them online in tall as they tend to fit better for length and not get as boxy!

  13. I actually really love my Old Navy vintage tees. I got several of them the summer Mila was born. They are so soft and have held up for nearly 4 years (and I wear them a lot!). Sadly, I don't think they have the same ones anymore. Big Little Lies is SO good. And This is Us - my heart can't take this show! It's so good and so gutwrenching!

  14. I hadnt cried that hard at a show since McDreamy died on Gray's Anatomy. It was just heart wrenching.... in the best way possible.

I have the hardest time finding good Tee's - they're either too shapeless - or not long enough - or shrink... the struggle is real!

  15. I had a serious ugly cry at the end of this week's episode. I'm so sad that William is gone. I'm also having the same problems with bathing suits! Why would VS stop selling bathing suits, when I'm confident that most of their sales came from the swimwear. UGH! Let me know if you find any food suits! Have a fabulous weekend, girl!

    1. I hate that VS stopped selling bikinis. They were one of the only ones that did it in bra size. Why is that so hard?

  20. Uh totally cried my eyes out during This is Us, and honestly that wasn't even one of my favorite episodes, ha. And, I usually get Target t-shirts, but I know they aren't the best quality either. Have a nice weekend with the fam!

  21. This is Us killed me this week. Then I watched Nashville and my heart was ripped out yet again. I need a pint of ice cream and a nap after this week's TV.

  22. Aww congrats to your parents! I have a hard time finding t-shirts consistently because I only like the really soft cotton ones. This is Us--truly my favorite show in YEARS!

  24. I get all of my basic t-shirts from Target but yes, they do seem to fall apart & fade after awhile. I've gotten a few from JC Penney and have had good luck with them! I love that style of bathing suit & kind of excited that they are making a comeback. I didn't know about VS not selling them anymore!?! I've heard such good things about This Is Us but have yet to watch it!

  25. I've heard really great things about those basic tees! The swimsuit looks super cute. I also usually buy a lot from Victoria's Secret, and I don't think they ever did follow through and totally stop selling them, but I could be wrong. Enjoy your trip!

    1. I like mine so far. I have only washed it once and worn it once, but so far so good. I checked and they only have them with Pink not VS.
