I confess that I haven't finished Rory's Father's Day gift yet. Total slacking, but I haven't had much time to put it all together. I have almost everything for his gift, but still need a few things and to put it all together. He has a softball game tonight, so hoping I can finish it then. I can't wait to shower my hubby for his special day.
I confess that I am super excited for lunch with my dad tomorrow. I am celebrating Father's Day with him early. Just my dad and I!
I confess that I am really feeling progress in my running. I can run for longer periods of time and at a faster pace. I can't wait to get back to where I was. I know it will be awhile before that happens, but goals people.
I confess that I have spent a lot of money on e-books recently. My love for reading is at an all time high again and I am downloading book after book. I just downloaded Me Before You to read while on vacation next week. But I am sure I will start it well before.
I confess that I am scared to try peanut butter with my girls. I really want them to be able to enjoy peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, peanut butter and apples, peanut butter and celery, but with their grandfather being allergic, I am scared to try it. And to make matters worse, a fellow twin mom (in my local area) gave it to her girls Tuesday night for the second time and one baby had a bad allergic reaction. The other did not. Ugh. I need to woman up and let them try it.
I confess that I am sad some of our family members won't be going on our vacation next week. Not only will we not enjoy their company, but less people to golf with and hang out with the babies.
I confess that I whined about my husband reading my blog this week. He never reads it and decided to on Monday and Tuesday. I normally wouldn't care, but with Father's Day coming up, I didn't want him to ruin a surprise or see something he may receive for Father's Day. Ugh.
I confess that I have a weird thing with odd ages. I am 32, going to be 33 very soon. I try not to think about it, but Rory keeps reminding me (by asking for gift ideas). For some strange reason, I think that even years (30, 32, 34, etc) are better years and that odd ones throw me off or aren't as good. It's stupid and something I need to get over.
I confess that I dislike NBA a lot, but I love watching the Warriors in the playoffs. Sure, I sound like a bandwagoner (is that even a word), but it is so fun to watch Curry dominate. But only at the playoffs.
I confess that we booked our trip to Oklahoma City/Norman. Why are we going there? Because that is where my best friend lives now and we miss them. Sure, I saw them last week, but we want to visit and go to an OU football game. We are only going Friday through Monday, but it is a long weekend away. And one without the girls. They will be staying with grandparents and it will be the longest Rory and I have been away from the girls together. But I can't wait!
And those are my confessions.
I'm just finishing up Luke's stuff, too. I was so behind this year!
ReplyDeleteOh I can't wait to see what you got him.
DeleteYou're going to love Me Before You! Ive been trying not to spend a ton on Kindle books lately but all of them are so expensive lately. Some of them are even more than the actual paperbacks!
ReplyDeleteHoping you get Rory's gift together. Enjoy your lunch with your dad--that will be really special :)
I told my husband how much I have spent on kindle books in the last two months and his jaw dropped. But he said it is a better habit than most, so he understands. Thank you.
DeleteI saw Me Before You in theaters so now I don't know if I would read it - but I've heard it was great! Working on my post to link up =0)
ReplyDeleteThat is why I waited to see the movie. I can bust the book out during my vacation next week and then see the movie.
DeleteI finished Me Before You a few weeks ago. It's so good!! Almost finished with Father's Day stuff here but still have work to do.
ReplyDeleteSo glad everyone liked the book. I can't wait to start it today. I can't wait to see what you got Drew. I have almost everything that I need to complete Rory's gift. And he keeps asking what I have planned for Father's Day and is coming up with ideas. I have my own ha.
DeleteI haven't finished Mikes Father's Day gift either granted I just had a light bulb moment this morning so I will get on that tonight! I just finished Me Before You a week ago or so. It was good! Have you checked to see if your library does e-lending? It works out really well!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love seeing what everyone does for Father's Day. I did see if my library does e-lending. They do and I just need to go get a library card and link it to the app you recommended. Then I can read them there.
DeleteI almost downloaded me before you last night but I decided to wait. Jason never reads my blog and I am ok with it. You will be so close to be in Norman, ok well 3 hours away, but still. Just do the PB thing, but do it when you know pedi office is open in case anything goes wrong and have Benadryl on hand, it will be ok.
ReplyDeleteI heard it is so good, so I had to download it. Plus I needed a book for vacation. I love that Rory doesn't read my blog, but then he surprises me and I am like, please don't read it. It's my outlet. Ha. Oh we should meet up when I am in OK. We will have a rental car! I do have Benadryl and I will wait until the pedi is open. Good advice!!!
DeleteI, too, recently spent so much on e-books--I can read 2 per week. So I decided to get a library card, went to the library to activate it only to be told the computer system was down, then lost my ID. So now I'm waiting for my new ID to start over so I can rent e-books lol I read After You--the sequel to Me Before You-- it was so, so good!
ReplyDeleteNikki recommended the same thing. Now I just have to get a library card. I just need to go down there sans kids and get it so I can read that way. So much cheaper and easier. I will keep that in mind for my next book then!

ReplyDeleteAwe man, did he see his gift?! I'm for once ahead of the game and got my husband his last weekend...haha, that doesn't happen too often!
ReplyDeleteHe hasn't really seen it, but parts of it are in there. So I hope he doesn't know or remember it. He did talk about his beer cap map and how much he loved it. I told him lots of people wanted to get it for their spouses. I just want him to forget about the post, but he brings it up.
DeleteI love that you’re doing lunch just you and your dad. I get to spend time with my dad every Friday, but he’s busy chasing Mila and I’m busy working. We never get one on one time. Enjoy your lunch with your dad! I was nervous about giving Mila PB as well. Luckily we didn’t have any issues. Any kinds of allergies like that with kids are so scary. Especially when you’re just starting out, trying new things.
ReplyDeleteI don't get much one on one time with my dad either, so lunch with just him is a blessing. You should plan a one on one lunch with your dad. I am a total daddy's girl, so I can't wait for this lunch. We don't spend enough time together. Sutton does have her allergy appointment tomorrow, but we waited too long to try PB. Going to have to try it when her pedi is open and also have Benadryl on hand.
DeleteI am horrible at spending money on books, too! It's so easy, especially if you read quickly.
ReplyDeleteThat is my problem. I read my books so quickly that I want a new one to read. But when you are reading you just want to know what happens and then it is over and you are sad.
DeleteLooks like the Warriors might win it all! Good luck with the Fathers Day present and the peanut butter!
ReplyDeleteXo, Evelina @ Fortunate House
I really hope they win it all. Tonight could be the night. I know I will be watching!!
DeleteI prefer even numbers too! But being 25 is okay because although it's odd, it's a 'pretty' number...as in divisible by 5. Hahaha. But like 23? Nah. 27? Meh. Haha! I have been reading like crazy lately, but mine have been library or free Kindle First books.
ReplyDeleteHaha, I like your thinking of the 25 being divisible by 5. Definitely a pretty number! Oh I need to check out these Kindle First books. I recently got the e-library thing on my iPad, so I just need to get my local library card to link up.
DeleteI actually just finished up shopping for B's gift today as well so you're not the only one! I still have to put it all together now. And girl, you are going to LOVE Me Before You. It was so good, but so sad. I read it in 3 days because I couldn't put it down. And I started After You after that and I'm almost done with it, too. Both very good! So go ahead and download After You because you're going to want to start it as soon as you finish Me Before You!
ReplyDeleteThat is how I feel about books. I read them so fast because I can't put them down. I read during my breaks, lunch and after the girls go to bed. Must get the book read. At least I have all week to do it. I heard After You is really good too. I will definitely check that one next.
DeleteAhh, I am way behind on Father's Day too! And Me Before You is on my to read list; I just need to fit it in between book club books.
ReplyDeleteI will let you know how I like it. Everyone says it is really good and to download the sequel too.
DeleteI'm a total bandwaggoner too! Don't worry, it's still fun, haha. I was really nervous to let Ben try peanut butter too. Good luck with that! And that's so funny about birthdays. I am one of those weird people that still likes getting older, but I definitely like even years better than odds, and I don't like nines, haha.
ReplyDeleteHow did Ben do with PB? See we all have our weird quirks. I don't mind my birthday coming up. I just hate the odd years. And this year I am 33!
DeleteI confess that I haven't even started my husband's Father's Day gift. Haha! I hope you have a great lunch with your dad!
ReplyDeleteWell that makes me feel a bit better then!!! And thank you so much. I hope you are having a great day!
DeleteJust your dad and you - that will be the best way to celebrate! I love one on one time!
ReplyDeleteI love that we get to have this lunch together and then I can celebrate with my husband on Sunday. His girls have spoiled him!
DeleteGirl, life is too short and peanut butter is too delicious.
