Are you still working from home? I know I am. We just finished our 12th week at home. Crazy. And we are not even sure when we will be going back in. In Nevada, they have opened up a lot of things, but some are still closed (mainly concert venues, sports arenas, brothels, etc.). We are supposed to go into Phase 3 on Monday the 15th, but we shall see. And maybe that is when we will go back into work. But with the state of the US right now, I am actually ok with working from home a bit longer.

ONE. Speaking of this pandemic and things changing, the girls went back to preschool on Monday. It was a tough decision, but ultimately getting them ready for Kindergarten won out. I want to make sure that my girls are still learning, being taught by someone other than us (because let's be real, kids don't really listen to their parents), know everything they need to know for their pre-testing to get into Kindergarten, get back into a routine and build a schedule for them.

And don't worry, the girls have sooooo many hoops to jump through in order to go to school. Here is just a few of them. They have to wear pjs or an old dress to school with slippers. Upon arrival, they will get their temperatures checked and give us their slippers. They will use hand sanitizer and then they go into school. They will then wash their hands and change into a different pair of clothes and wear shoes that are not designated as school shoes. Us parents are not allowed in the school unless it is an emergency. All staff are wearing scrubs, have their temperatures checked every morning and follow the same protocols. There is no more family style breakfasts and lunches. They sanitize the playground after each class uses it.

And each morning we have to sign them in, answer questions if they have been exposed to Covid and a few others. Then when we pick them up, a teacher goes inside to get them and then they come out in their socks and clothes for the day with a bag of the items from the morning. Then we leave and start it all over again the next day. We are not sure how long this protocol will last, but so far, we are a week in.

TWO. Ok, I have been searching around for this hat. I don't know what it is about this hat, but I really want it for this Summer. It gives me all the beachy feels and I think it will be perfect for Mexico in October. The problem is: I can't find it anywhere. Our stores just opened and I went to a local one that carries Rip Curl products and they were sold out. I am not even sure how they were as they have been closed for months, but they are. Does anyone know where I can find this hat?

THREE. Do you golf? I do, but I am not by any means a great golfer. But when we go to Graeagle and play the 9 hole golf course at the cabins, you don't need a full set of clubs. Plus you either have to rent a cart or a pull cart if you have a cart bag like I do. Anyways, last year, my in-laws brought their big golf bags and these small carry golf bags. We were able to use them a couple times and it was so much more convenient. You can carry this the entire course, it is light, you can fit 6 or 7 clubs in it and you have room for balls and tees.

I remembered these golf bags last week and knew that I wanted one for our upcoming (hopefully) trip to Graeagle. This bag is about $33 and sooooo worth it. Did I mention that it comes in 7 colors?

FOUR. When I was at Target this week, I stocked up on a ton of items since I hadn't been in the actual store in awhile (I have done pickups there). But I browsed the tank tops and found two really great ones. I wasn't able to try them on in the store as we can't use changing rooms in there, but when I got home and tried them on, they were amazingly soft, fit well and are cheap (I got one for $4 and the other for $7, on sale).

FIVE. Weekly funnies.

  1. We just got an email this week that our work is returning at 25% capacity on Sept 14 - so I dont think I'll be going back until the start of next year. We're trying to decide if we will send Sophia back to day care at the start of July, but I dont think we will...just nervous even with all the precautions! xo, Biana BlovedBoston

    1. oH wow. That is crazy that they are waiting that long. I totally get why though. We wouldn't have sent the girls back if they were not starting Kindergarten in the Fall.

  2. We had a zoom call this week, and my boss said this is our new norm. That we may never go back to the office full time. With everything going on right now, I am so thankful for that. Chris said his team wont be going back until at least September, but maybe never. Zoe's school is open now and they have a lot of similar precautions. They aren't changing clothes, but everything else you mentioned. I have two friends who have sent their kids back and they said they are pleased with everything. I am not sure when Zoe will go back. Maybe July or August. Probably August. Dance is having a make up month in July for our August recital. I am hoping to send her to that at least. She really misses her friends!

    1. I am not even sure if we will ever go back full time. It is crazy how times have changed and the office dynamic has as well. My girls recital was cancelled until December because of taking two months off from dance or maybe even three. My girls missed their friends too. We were going to send the girls back except they start school in August and I want them prepped!

  3. The processes for going back to school stress me out! I hope it's not so difficult when we go back. I hope we go back at all though! Dave says he's not going back to work until their main office in NYC can go back and the protests are delaying that possibility too.

    1. It is soooo stressful and I am sure it will be even worse when they go into Kindergarten. I am glad that Dave is safe and not having to go back yet. The world is crazy right now.

  4. I am still not back to the office either! It’s looking like beginning of July for me. I’m ready but not at the same time. And I am not looking forward to the hoops of returning the kids to preschool. But you’re right, they need it.

The hat is beautiful. I so hope you find it!!

  6. Wow, that is so much work to get the girls back to school, but I'm sure it'll be worth it. I bet they are loving being back and having time with other kids! I'm worried our kids aren't going to know what to do when they go back because they've had zero interaction with other kids aside from Zoom meetings.

    1. They love seeing their friends and learning a ton. They tell me what they learned each day and I love it. It makes me happy that they are so happy to be back. I am sure it will be difficult when they do go back.
