Weekending and Surgery

I just wanted to start this post asking you all to send a prayer to my dad as he is having shoulder surgery today. His shoulder is really messed up and they are FINALLY fixing it. So if you could spare a moment and send him positive thoughts. Thank you.

Onto our weekend. I haven't done a weekend post in a couple weeks, so I thought I would share one with you all today. Only a few days late. Ha.

Friday after work, I got a pedicure and then decided to grab some sushi for lunch since it was a payday. Best choice.

Then I headed to Nordstrom Rack to grab a top for our family photos and then headed home to pick up the girls. After we picked up the girls, we did a few things around the house and then I made them dinner while Rory was at an appointment. He got home around 6:30 and my friend picked me up shortly after for a girls night.

We went to dinner at Midtown Eats and shared some appetizers, plus pasta and a burger. Then we headed over to Death and Taxes (how fitting) for drinks. These girls are my twin mom tribe and I LOVE hanging out with them because they totally get my life and know exactly what we are going through. Plus the chats are beyond hilarious. We don't hold anything back and I feel like I have known them my whole life. After drinks at D&T, we went to another bar, but they were closed and we later found out that it was for good. Total bummer because they make the best beer. So we headed across the street for one last drink and some late night snacks before going home. It was the perfect evening and I was home just before midnight.

Saturday morning Rory left to go to his buddies house in California, so it was just the girls and I all weekend. We had a blast and I may have taken them out to eat for every meal. Ha. We started the morning off at Josef's for breakfast. I wanted to get a good base in the girls before their dance class.

Then we ran home to change for dance and then dance class for an hour.

After dance class, we came home, had some lunch, took some photos of their room for the grandparents and then they went down for naps which only lasted an hour. Boo.

After naps, the girls were a bit rowdy, so I decided to take them grocery shopping which wasn't very smart of me. But you live and learn. The girls were crazy at Whole Foods....ok mostly Avery, but we made it out alive. We headed home, unpacked groceries and then went to Mexican food. The girls love chips and salsa and mama needed a margarita, so we had the best food.

After dinner, we headed home for baths, cuddles and the usual nighttime routine. After the girls went to bed, I watched a bit of tv, but crashed early from staying out the night before.

Sunday morning the girls slept until 7:05 am which was basically 8:05 am and it was glorious. Usually DLS is awful for us, but this time they slept. Praise the Lord.We took our time getting ready and then headed out to breakfast at our usual spot. I had the best huevos rancheros (Mexican dish #2 for the weekend) and the girls had pancakes, eggs and bacon.
Huevos Rancheros

After breakfast, we headed to Costco and the girls were on their best behavior. We found some Kong toys for Walter that we just couldn't pass up.

After Costco, we headed to Pink for a gift card and then the park to let the girls burn off some energy.

After the park, we stopped at Starbucks for a pick-me-up and the girls got kids steamers which they loved and kept saying were lattes. And I had my first holiday cup! It's the little things.

We also gave Walter one of his new toys which he LOVED and played with all day.
Don't mind my stained carpet. We are going to replace it in about a year when the girls are a bit older. (those are from them)

The girls went down for a nap, but Walter woke them up just after about an hour of sleep, but they laid in their rooms until Rory got home and then couldn't wait to see him! We watched some football around the house and then left to our cousin's house for a birthday celebration. We had...you guessed it....Mexican food which was number 3 Mexican meal of the weekend. It was really good too! We had some cake, chocolate covered strawberries and goodies as dessert. Since it was DLS time, everyone was tired and we all headed home around 7:15.
Cheers to 21 Years

    1. Thank you so much for the prayers. He definitely was thankful for them and wanted me to thank you all for them. We connected with most of them through a local twin mom group, but one of them we were friends with before and they more recently had twins. Such a great group we have here.

I am lusting over all of the food too - the Huevos Rancheros look SENSATIONAL. What a backdrop to the playground - I'd love to see some more landscape photos of where you live. Joanne x
