Mexico Days 4 and 5

We left off Monday night in my last post. Tuesday was very much the same and I only took two photos. And those were evening pictures. But I do remember what we did and where we ate. We got pastries in the morning and made coffee at the condo. We made coffee daily and it was so nice to enjoy a cup of coffee on the patio/balcony.

While enjoying the pastries, I went on IG, Rory did some work and the girls watched Disney + and Netflix shows on their kindles. Then my in-laws watched the girls and Rory and I headed to a massage. They had a special going for 2 75 minute massages for 900 pecos which is about $42.85 not including tip. What a steal. We were on the rooftop and it was amazing and so relaxing.

After our massages, we headed back to the condo, showered and headed into town to go shopping. The girls were with my in-laws, so Rory and I got some time to explore and hang out. We took protein bars, cheese rounds and other snacks with us and then took a taxi into town. We shopped for a couple hours and then headed back toward the Romantica zone to meet up with the girls and my in-laws.

Then we asked the girls what they wanted for dinner and they wanted pizza. So we went to Los Muertos Brewery and had pizza, beers, and salad. It was soooo good. I wish I would have taken a photo of the pizzas. They were huge with thin crust. Everyone was very happy. Then we made our way to the ice cream shop again and all had a scoop on a waffle cone.

After the girls went to bed and my in-laws went next door to their condo, we relaxed on the patio with some wine.

The girls were still up, but watching a show on their kindles.

Wednesday was St. Patrick's Day and I got the girls up and ready with their green on. Then they pinched my in-laws and Rory since none of them we were green yet. Rory and I made our way down to get pastries again and had coffee with them. This time it was my in-laws turn to have massages, so we hung out at the condo for a bit while Rory worked and had a conference call. Then we set out onto the melacon (which is a boardwalk) with the girls.

We got a picture of them drawn by a local and then took photos along the way. We also stopped at a toy shop and a boutique where they got purses of their choice. They also got bracelets the day before, but I never captured those.

When we got back to the condo, my in-laws were back and we went to lunch at Azul Bistro. I got the verde enchiladas and they were so good. My MIL had the mole ones and they were amazing as well.
Yes, Avery is holding Rory's Corona, but she did not have any. Ha.

We went back to the condo and had another wonderful afternoon of pool time!

After pool time, we all got ready. The girls stayed with my in-laws in our condo and had leftover pizza and played card games while Rory and I had a date night. We went to Panchos Takos and had everything and more. We were so stuffed!

My delicious tacos.

poblano pepper and onion quesadilla
Poblano pepper and onion quesadilla. This thing was open faced and heavenly!

We also had chips and guacamole. Rory had four tacos and a bit of my third one.

After dinner, we walked around to burn off some food. We came up to the water just in time for the sunset which was stunning.

Then Rory and I made our way to our favorite bar, Bar La Playa for drinks. We have been going to this bar for years and we always see our favorite bar tender. We had a few drinks here before heading to the ice cream shop and having a large scoop in a waffle cone. Then we headed back to the condo to relieve my in-laws and head to bed!

This one is called Senorita which has coconut water, vodka, and a splash of hibiscus syrup.

This one had vodka, lavender, blueberries and lemon.

Rory had a mezcal flight and another mezcal drink.

And that ends days 4 and 5. I have one more post covering days 6, 7 and 8.

Amazon Prime Purchases - March

It's time for another round of Prime Purchases. I didn't much much this last month and most of it was for Easter and our trip to Mexico. Ugh, I am wishing we were still there. Anyways, onto what I purchased in March.

Dock and Bay Towel

Dock and Bay Towel

I bought the girls a quick dry towel for Mexico. These pack down, are lightweight, dry fast and were perfect for the girls. I let each of them chose a color and they chose pink and purple. I got the extra large size originally, but exchanged for the large size.

Disney Vinyl Stickers

I included these on the Easter basket post and I bought them for the girls Easter baskets.

Frozen 2 Dive Toys

This was another item on the Easter basket post that I purchased for the girls. I also got them a set of Trolls dive toys. The girls loved diving for toys in Mexico at the pool, so I know these will be a hit for Graeagle.

Essential Pet Probiotics

Our Alexa reminded me that it was time to order Walter's probiotics, so I did that. I am glad that I did because we ran out right after we got back from Mexico.

Imagine Ink Disney 3 Pack

Another Easter basket purchase. My girls love these Imagine Ink books and this time I got them the Disney set and added the one below, so they would each have 4. Why do things come in threes instead of 2s or 4s?

Mooshi Squish Microbead Bed Pillow

I had one of these pillows for an embarrassing amount of time. Like around 15 years. I use it to sleep and usually I cuddle it as I am a side sleeper. But I also use it to protect a surgery area. Recently I used it on my stomach and it helps keep that area protected until it heals. I took it to Mexico with me as the bed that we sleep on is too firm for my liking and I knew my stomach wouldn't take it post surgery. Well as you can imagine, with my pillow being 15 years old, it was falling apart. And I was losing the microbeads, so I left it in Mexico in the trash and had to get a new one. I got this one and it has been pretty amazing.

Kids Jewelry Box

The girls have a small jewelry box that they made about a year or two ago and nothing really fits in it anymore, so I decided to get them a new one for their Easter baskets. This one has a deep area that includes a ring area and then two pull out drawers. It is definitely larger than the ones they made and will house all the new jewelry they got in Mexico.

Nature's Answer Melatonin with Essential Oils

Rory has been having a hard time sleeping. He was taking melatonin at nights, but after a few days it wouldn't work. Rory's mom suggested we use this one. She tried the 10 mg one and it wasn't helping her, but when she went down to the 5 mg one and added in the essential oils, she sleeps well. This one has lavender, cedarwood, and chamomile. We got this one on Friday, so we have only tried three nights of it. I will report back later if it helps.

And that is all that I purchased last month from Prime. What did you purchase from Amazon prime?

Friday Favorites and Happenings

*This post contains affiliate links. When you click a link, it is no cost to you and I make a small commission (pennies) from it. Thank you for supporting Sparkles and Lattes.

Happy Friday all! I can't believe this weekend is Easter. We will be dyeing our eggs tonight and then we have a jam packed weekend. We have two birthday parties and two Easter dinner celebrations. But I am so thankful for the nice weather and things starting to normalize a bit.

Anyways, onto Friday favorites and happenings.

ONE. So I did a whole blog post on kids Easter clothes and then I didn't buy anything from it. After checking the weather over and over again, I went ahead and order the girls a dress from Old Navy. They were having a sale, it was in stock at my local store for pick-up and it is very Spring like. So what did I chose?

Plus the girls will wear either sandals or dress shoes and their jean jackets.

TWO. And I bought myself a dress at Target that I hope to wear on Easter with a jean jacket as well. But if the weather isn't great, then I will do pants and a pastel shirt. I know my girls will wear a dress no matter the weather, so we will just make sure they have a jacket or a cardigan with it.

But here is my dress. And I got it on sale for 20% off when Target was having a sale last week. I originally saw it in stores, but they didn't have my size, XS, so I ordered it online.

Target Rib Knit Ballet Dress

This dress comes in so many colors. I also want the lavender and light yellow.

And if all else fails, I will wear the same outfit that I wore to my sister's baby shower.

THREE. Speaking of baby shower...my sister had her baby. I am an aunt again. If you follow me on Instagram, then you have already seen some of these, but I had to post them here and announce here. My nephew was born on March 20th (the day that we got back from Mexico), he was 6 lbs .5 oz and 18.5 inches long. His name is Caiden and he couldn't be cuter!

The girls were beyond excited to meet him. And they were even more excited when we went back a few days later to bring my sister and my brother-in-law food and snuggle the baby again.

I had a bad day on Wednesday and asked my sister if I could come over and see my nephew and she said of course. It was just what I needed to put things in perspective and brighten my day. I captured this after snuggling him for awhile.

FOUR. Speaking of things to brighten my day and week, I got to see some girlfriends last Sunday for brunch. It had been way too long and it was just what I needed. We had brunch and sat in the sun for hours.

FIVE. Weekly funnies.

Way more "balls" than I had.

Sounds about right.

Except I am the one eating peeps.

This really made me think back to when I was in school and if it happened.

So true.

Have a great weekend. I am linking up with A Little Bit of Everything.
