Ladies, today you are in for a real treat because I am guest posting over at Work It Mommy. When Whitney started her Mommylogue series, I knew I wanted to contribute to it.
When I delivered my sweet baby girls, I experienced major birth trauma. I didn't know how to describe what I experienced, how I was feeling or how to overcome it. I researched it a bit and didn't find a lot of information, so I wanted to write about my experience in hopes it helps other women out.
So PLEASE head on over to Whitney's blog, Work It Mommy and check out my guest post.

Friday's Five - Vacation Is Here
It's Friday and as you are reading this, I am either up at 3am getting ready to head to the airport or in the throws of traveling with two toddlers. Wish us luck. I can't wait to share my travels with you all and a tips/guide to traveling with toddlers.
I am linking up with Karli and April.
One. I FINALLY bought a dress for the wedding at the end of this month. I had every intention on renting one, but I waited until last weekend to make the purchase (I was trying to find better coupon codes). The Kate Spade dress was still there in my size, but my back up size was gone. No worries, I would just settle on my size and the one below just in case. And then on Instagram, a shop that I follow and was going to buy the beautiful blue backless dress from was having a sale and had new dresses in. I found two dresses that were very Spring like and that I loved. Plus the price with the 25% discount they were offering was...$59. A steal and less than my Rent the Runway dress with discount and shipping ($80). Here is the beauty that I will be wearing and arrived at my doorstep on Wednesday (it's beautiful in person!).

And I can wear my blush heels from Nathalie's wedding with it. I can't wait to wear this beauty. What do you think?
Two. I received a makeup VoxBox from Influenster and it was filled with three lipsticks from The Amuse Bouche Collection. Whenever we have an event, date night or girls night, I get the chance to pretty myself up with one of these lipsticks. So far my favorite is beetroot, but pepper is a close second.
Three. Stefanie over at Lexie Loo, Lily, Liam and Dylan Too, recommended these bibs for toddlers who are messy eaters. I seriously can't wait to buy them since our girls are constantly staining their clothes (stain stick is a staple in our house) with food. She says you can use them for painting and craft projects too. Sign me up! And 2 for $10 is a steal. I can't wait for mine to arrive.
I hope you all have a good weekend and next two weeks. I hope to comment back on all of your comments. It just may take an extra day or two!
Four. I have a bunch of guest posts coming your way in the next two weeks. Everything from toddler activities to a yummy cocktail recipe. You will definitely want to check out all of these amazing ladies. On Monday, I will be doing a guest post over at Work it Mommy where I bare my soul. I will be talking about my birth trauma, how it affected me and ways of dealing with it. Please check it out.

Confessional Thursday
Today is one of my favorite post days, Confessional Thursday. A day where I can bitch and moan and confess. Something we all need to do now and again.
Wanna join in on the fun? Grab the button below, write about your confessions and head over to Jess' blog, The Newly and link up. Super easy.
I confess that I am super excited to eat ALL the avocado I can get my hands on in the next week. Bring on the guac!
I confess that I should have been packing Tuesday night, but I went to girls night instead. My girlfriend opened her house to us (she recently moved in) where we played Fibbage (so much fun), drank wine and had tri-tip tacos. Much needed for my soul.
I confess that my sweet husband let me go to girls night instead of him going to the minor league baseball game (in the box seats) and I am so grateful. Beyond grateful. Sometimes a mama needs her friends and a good confess sesh with them. So thank you babe.
I confess that prepping for a consignment sale doesn't seem worth it, but I really hope it brings in the cash. I spent all weekend and part of this week hanging, tagging, pricing and prepping a few bags of the girls clothes. I barely touched the winter stuff. That will have to wait for the next one.
I confess that I am getting nervous to fly with the girls. I really hope they are happy, sweet and sleepy babies on our long fight because I don't want to be THOSE parents that everyone gives the stink eye too.
I confess that I won't miss work at all this next week. I can't wait to have my toes in the sand, a margarita in hand and sunshine shining down on me.
I confess that I hated spending over an hour on the phone with United Airlines because they bumped me from my seat on one of our flights (SF to PV). First, the lady changed me to an exit row which I can't be in due to having Sutton on my lap. The second lady moved us into Economy Plus right behind each other. It sucks that we won't be sitting across from each other, but it is better than the regular economy seats we had before. Our first flight seats were changed as well, but it is a short 30 minute flight. Let's hope the rest of our seats stay the same and everything goes smoothly.

Take Me Out to the Ball Game!
Baseball season is finally here! It was a breath of fresh air to watch the first Giants game of the season on Monday. It may have been on my computer screen at work, but it still felt amazing. Happy Opening Day!
It is an even year (2016), so that means the Giants are going to win the World Series. I can feel it.
When I first met Rory, I was relived to hear that he was a Giants fan (and a fellow 49ers fan). He was sort of destined to be one since he grew up in the Bay Area. This makes for an easy, fight free household during any sports season.
Rory and I often visit San Francisco and every time we go during baseball season, we HAVE to make a game. Last year was the exception. We went to SF to get a couch from his uncle and we didn't get to see a game because we had two cute little fans in tow. But this year, we will be back. And no, we won't be those annoying people who bring their babies to the game. Not this year at least. Next year, the girls can soak in their Giants heritage and become lifelong fans.
I remember my first game with Rory. The Giants were playing the Dodgers and it was tied 0 - 0 and Pat the Bat came up and hit a nice home run into the bleacher seats (around the Coke bottle). It sealed the win and we were some very happy fans. I may have gotten super sunburnt that game too. Ain't nobody got time for sunscreen (really, I should have reapplied it over and over again, ugh).
But really with the season starting, I am searching the Giants site for a game or three that we can attend this year. I am giddy just thinking about it.
Here is a few pictures of some of my favorite recent games.
Together, We Are Giant!
Some Giants stats on myself:
I have been a Giants fan my whole life.
My favorite player is JT Snow. He IS and WAS the best defensive first baseman around.
Every time I travel to San Francisco for work, I treat myself to seats behind home plate. They cost a small fortune, but they are WORTH it.
I have been to more games than I can count.
I took my girls to a Giants game when they were in my belly, so they are going to be FOREVER fans as well.

10 on Tuesday - 10 Things I Have Learned From Parenting Twins
When I first found out we were having twins, I was in complete shock. How was I ever going to raise two babies? I wasn't even sure how to raise or care for one baby and now we were going to have two babies!
Over the last 15 months, we have perfected (ya, right) this twin thing and I am here to tell you how we survived. I am also here to link up with Karli for 10 on Tuesday.

10 Things I Have Learned from Parenting Twins
One. There is a good chance your twins will end up in the NICU. Not all twins do, but a majority of them do. I was always under the impression that MINE wouldn't, but Sutton had other plans. She wanted out early (between 33 and 34 weeks) which meant they were not fully developed. They needed time to grow and learn to suck, swallow and breathe at the same time.
Most babies will be in the NICU if they are born before 35 weeks, are a smaller weight or need time for their organs to mature. It happens and that is ok. You get the added bonus of learning to care for your child by the amazing NICU nurses.
Two. Your twins will reach milestones at different times. And that is ok. I used to fret over my girls not rolling over, sitting up, crawling and walking when other babies their ages were doing so. I would forget that I had to take their adjusted age (minus 6 weeks) and go off of that. Twins can take up to 18 months to catch up to other babies. My girls sat up earlier than a lot of babies their age, but they crawled a bit later and we are still waiting on the unassisted steps.
Three. Not only will they reach milestones at different times from their peers, but from each other. When you have two babies, it is hard not to compare them. But you can't because they are their own person. Even if they are identical twins. They are their own individual and they will do things at their own pace. They will also feed off each other and learn from the other.
Four. Breastfeeding babies is hard, but breastfeeding twins is HARDER. I felt like I was never able to catch up. I would feed one, feed the other, then pump and have to start it all over. And when you have preemie twins, they might have latching issues (mine did). If you decide that pumping is better suited for you, go for it. I did. I got mastitis from breastfeeding and it wrecked havoc on my body and I gave up the special bond of breastfeeding. I internally beat myself up over it, but if I was nourishing my girls, that is the only thing that matters. I pumped for 9 1/2 months until I could barely keep up with what they were eating per day. I introduced formula and my girls did beautifully with it. There is no sense on shaming others who chose different ways to feed their babies. As long as you are feeding them, that is OK.
Five. Your heart will expand for the two little loves you have or are about to have. When I was pregnant with the girls, I couldn't conceive how I could and would love the girls THAT much and how there was enough love in me for two. But after they were born, my heart grew so much that I love them both equally. They are a part of me through and through and my heart loves them to no end.
Six. Get them on a schedule. It will save your life and sanity. I have been told when you have one you can be flexible, but I have found that when you have twins under one, a schedule is key. You schedule their feedings, their naps, their playtime, bath time, etc. Keep to that schedule. Having them on the same schedule will allow you to go out (Target was a favorite adventure of ours on maternity leave), do stuff around the house or have "me" time when they nap and have happier babies. When they get older, you can change your routine up a bit to accommodate the child, but when they are under one schedule, schedule, schedule.
Seven. The bond between the babies. I waited and waited for my girls to notice each other and it took a long time. They would be laying next to each other and didn't interact, but once they did, it was the cutest. Those first gazes at each other and utter shock on their faces is something you will cherish forever. They will follow each other around, talk to each other in baby talk (or their own language), learn to share, have a built in playmate and have empathy for the other twin. When one of my twins gets in trouble or gets hit by another baby, the other one will cry with her. So very sweet.
Eight. You will get asked so many questions and hear so many thoughts from people. Some are fun to answer, some are dumb and some you really enjoy.
Are they twins? Nope, I have two babies who look alike (physically and developmentally) but not related.
Having twins must be hard. No shit. Wanna trade places for a day?
I want to get pregnant with twins. It is pretty amazing. It is hard, but I wouldn't change it for the world.
I would never want twins. Well good because God doesn't think you are worthy enough to have twins.
Nine. It is hard raising babies. Whether it is one baby, two babies or three babies. It is hard. And people can prep you for that, but you never know until you are in it. I have spent days crying because I can't even get a shower in when I feel so gross and need just 5 minutes to myself. It gets hard when not only one, but both have massive blow outs in Trader Joes on Mother's Day. It gets hard when they both meltdown in Target because they don't want to be in their carseat/strollers anymore. It is hard and that is ok. You will make it through. My best advice is schedule time for yourself, have a partner who will help you do it all, get a babysitter and have date night, know that you can't do it all and that is ok, enjoy your babies because they grow so fast and let them cry it out while you are chained to the pumping station. They will be ok.
Ten. You will sleep again. The first three months of my girls' lives were crazy. I felt like a zombie in the wake of it all, but it too shall pass. They always say to nap when they nap, but when you have newborn twins, it doesn't work that way. So take turns napping between you and your husband. You can and will survive on three hours of sleep. You may not want to, but you can. And they will eventually develop sleep patterns and habits which will allow you to sleep more. And when the days get rough and you are beyond tired, have a cup or ten of coffee. Coffee has become my best friend. That and wine. Even 15 months later when I only get up zero to two times a night to tend to the girls, I still manage to drink 3 cups of coffee a day.
Bonus. Your twins may end up wearing a helmet to correct a flat spot on their head. My girls spent over 8 months crammed in my belly with little room and then one month in the NICU. They didn't get to move around much and in that time, they developed flat spots on their heads. They were moderately "deformed" (I hate that word, but that is the word the doctor used) and needed helmets to correct the shape of their heads. I was super worried about what everyone would think instead of wondering what the results were going to be. We got questions about the helmets, but everyone was kind about it. And many people just wanted more information about helmets. Some even had stories of their own to share with us. My girls wore their helmets for 8 weeks and since they hit a growth spurt at the right time, it was less than most (3+ months). My girls now have perfectly shaped heads (probably more perfect and proportionate than mine and Rory's) and they didn't even care about the helmets.

Weekending
Today's post is coming at you very late in the day. Reason...we had the girls' 15 month check up this morning. The girls are growing fast and are in the 50th percentile for height (S: 30 3/4" A:30 1/8") and weight (S: 20 lbs 13 oz A: 21 lbs) and their heads are about 95 - 97th percentile. They got two shots each and we were on our way (after some questions and their exams).
Back to our weekend which flew by in an instant. Friday after work, I tried to find the girls hats for Mexico and had no luck, so we ordered some on Amazon (with my sisters prime account). Then we grabbed lunch and let the girls take a much needed nap. That evening I met up with a fellow twin mom for some consignment sale items (tags, price stickers, etc). We picked up pizza that evening, so we could watch the Nevada Wolf Pack basketball championship game (CBI tournament), which they won!!! Side note: this is the first championship that a Mountain West team has ever won. It may not be the big dance, but they played hard this year. Go Pack! I also started sorting, tagging and pricing the girls items we want to sell at the end of the month. SO.MUCH.WORK.
Saturday, we grabbed breakfast and then I had to take my car to the smog shop. Yes, we have to get our cars smog checked when they are 2 years old. Stupid. And then I stopped by the car wash for a much needed wash. The day was spent running errands (Costco, grocery store), taking long walks with the girls and pup and putting together the girls dresser we bought at Ikea. The good news is we had all of the parts in the three boxes (unlike the one box stool that had duplicates). The bad news is it took us 4 hours to put it together. The girls had their nap time for two hours of it and then it was 2 hours of putting it together and trying to entertain them.
That evening we grilled a tri-tip and paired it with rice and steamed artichokes. It was a really good meal and it was only $27 in total. A steal. I spent the rest of the evening watching shows and doing more tagging, pricing and putting baby clothes on hangers.
Sunday, we went to breakfast again and then did some major house cleaning. Both inside and out. I like to come home to a clean house after vacation, so we really cleaned up. I also made the girls these muffins (Whole Wheat Blueberry Muffins). They are a hit with both the girls, my husband and I.

We took another long walk (the weather was in the low 70s all weekend), played at the house and did laundry. That evening I made the Roasted Veggie Pita with Avocado Dip that I mentioned in Friday's post. And let me tell you, we LOVED them. We didn't have pitas on hand, so we used naan bread and it was so good. Definitely something we will be adding into the rotation.
We capped off the evening with baths for the girls and more tagging and hanging clothes for the consignment sale.
We had a great weekend. It was quick, but full of sunshine!
How was your weekend?

Friday Favs
Friday's don't need much of an introduction. Just know that I am excited that you are finally here.
Today I am linking up with April and Karli.
One. We finally scheduled pictures of the girls for this weekend. The weather is going to be in the low 70s, the flowers are blooming and everything is set. Except, our photographer had to reschedule due to a family emergency. Believe me, I totally get that after what happened Monday night, but I am so bummed. We are going to reschedule for end of April or first weekend of May. So fingers crossed it is still or even more Spring like then.
Two. I am in desperate need of a new pair of sunglasses. I have had the same pair since 2011 which is unheard of for me. But in the last week, one of the lenses keeps falling out. At least three or four times this week alone. The problem is I don't want to just rush into a new pair. I want to make sure I like them and look around before spending a bunch of money on them. So should I just buy a super cheap pair in the meantime or bite the bullet. Ugh.
Three. I need to pull out and try on some shorts for our Mexico trip. I don't know how many pairs even fit me right now. Last summer I was pumping (breast milk for those that didn't get that), so I was smaller than I am now. Please oh please let enough pairs fit for this trip.
Four. I really want to try this recipe for dinner this next week. It looks so good and healthy. Plus it has an avocado dip and we all know how much I love avocado!
Five. I have said it a million times lately, but we leave to Mexico in a week. And then the day after we get back, I head onto Tel Aviv, Israel for work. Life is about to get crazy, crazy fun. I am going to miss my girls so much, but Israel! I never thought it would be someplace I wanted to visit, but the more I read about it and hear about it, I am super excited. I can't wait to recap it for you all!!
Have a good weekend!
